ARPIN SPIRIT SINCE 1817 At the heart of the Alps since 1817, the Arpin Spinning Mill applies its expertise to manufacturing high quality rare fabrics, woven on machines classified under French National Heritage. From its mountain origins, ARPIN has retained its values: authenticity, quality, comfort. 200 years after the spinning mill was founded, this ancestral heritage is revealed through two lines : decoration and ready-to-wear. GENERATIONS AND JACQUES ARPIN It all began in 1817 with the union of two men from the same family... Alexis and Jean-Baptiste Arpin decided to open their workshop in Séez Saint-Bernard, on the banks of the Versoyen River. Since then, little has changed at the venerable Savoyard Company. The gestures of the masters of wool have virtually remained the same and it is now Jacques Arpin, 8th generation of the name, who perpetuates the family tradition. FILATURE ARPIN: LIVING HERITAGE COMPANY The Arpin Factory is listed as “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant”, which means Living Heritage Company. For Arpin, it is the acknowledge of an everyday work to preserve an unique heritage, and perpetuate a rare and well-preserve ancestral know-how. Our Company is one of the very to still weave and manufacture tailor-made finished products and items using raw fleece and to work with machines that have been listed as part of the National Heritage.
