Polsky Perlstein Architects is a Marin County- based architectural office. In partnership with our clients, we've created hundreds of thoughtfully designed projects throughout Northern California. We like to think of our completed work as being designed to fit the homeowners' lifestyles 'like a glove'. All designs begin as a carefully considered response to the site, neighborhood context and the Owner's wishes. Our portfolio therefore displays a diverse range of creative solutions, reflecting the unique resolution of each project's constraints and opportunities. Our process makes extensive use of perspective drawings (both computer generated and hand rendered) that promote a clear understanding of the ramifications of design decisions made through the course of the project. This enables us to smoothly progress through the various phases of design, approvals, documentation, permitting and construction, and to build cost effectively. Collaborative clients and a dedicated staff have made Polsky Perlstein Architects a vibrant and creative practice for over 30 years. We're motivated by our clients and look forward to culturing a close working relationship throughout every project.

I have known Jared and Rich for over 25 years, during which time we have worked on roughly 30 different projects of both large and small scales. I have always found them to be a very collaborative firm to work with; they put an emphasis on doing the right thing for the client as well as the project. Their firm is adept at designing all facets of residential construction. We look forward to continuing our long-term professional relationship with this firm on more projects to come!

Polsky Perlstein Architects are a standout design firm in Marin County. They pay special attention to the needs of the client and build a vision that responds to the nuances of the program and context of the site. They create a collaborative environment that allows team input. What I’ve noticed working with them is they listen to their clients, and their designs reflect their client’s wishes and the context in which they are working. I've had the opportunity wo work with them on several successful projects and can give them the highest recommendation.

We interviewed about a half dozen residential architects for a new project. Polsky Pearlstein impressed from the very beginning with the way they listened to our needs and creatively designed a beautiful home given a very difficult site and stingent Design Guidelines/Requirements from our small town in Marin County. The entire staff was professional and a pleasure to work with and Rich and Jared have strengths that perfectly complement eachother! Completed almost 5 years ago, can honestly say there isn't much we would change given the constraints we had to work with. Highly reccomend Polsky Pearlstein and would use them again without hesitation!!

When we decided to choose an architect, we looked around Marin, mostly Ross & Kentfield, for house designs we liked. After some basic research we found that virtually all of our favorites were done by Polsky Perlstein Architects. We then engaged Polsky Perlstein Architects for a big project - we tore our house down and built a new one from scratch. It was challenging as we cut into the hill, requiring a lot of complex engineering. We also wanted something that reflected the way we live. Polsky Perlstein's team listened to what we wanted and added so much more. This is one talented and creative group. Once they understood our goals (which they helped us define), they amplified and significantly improved it. I can not say enough about this team - which had a lead, but everyone in the office collaborates and seems to add something. Hard to imagine a better experience.

The Polsky Perlstein team are great professionals and they made my entire remodel process a pleasure from conceptual planning, Planning Dept. approvals through the completion of construction. They are great listeners and collaborators . PPA was always accessible to me and my contractor for questions and issues during the construction process. Rich Persltein was brilliant at maximizing spaces with creative solutions and a great aesthetic. He was a tremendous advocate to me during construction and his integrity insured a well built, beautiful home. The vision and creativity of Polsky Perlstein and their team resulted in a magnificent remodel of my home that far exceeded my expectations.

This is a "lean and mean" firm, just the right size to offer extra services and still small enough to access the brilliance of the main partners. We have used them for 2 projects from a $6 million dollar contemporary new home on the California coast to a smaller $1.6 million mid-century modern home. They listen to what you want to accomplish, they take notes and remember what you said, they come up with on the spot creative solutions, and they enjoy what they do. We have great respect for Rich Perlstein who is a master at maximizing space; his energy, sense of curiosity and attention to detail have impressed us as well. He once suggested a small design element that enabled us to enjoy a new view site that would not have been possible without his creative input. The firm overall is a pleasure to work with and always professional and accessible.

Conroy Tanzer Photographic

This is the first review I've written on Houzz and well deserved. My husband and I find the homes that Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma Home catalogs, etc. use to photograph their furniture in and every time we call Polsky, Perlstein Architects we are received with such grace and friendliness. We have now been in many of their homes and not only is every home built with the greatest attention to detail and quality but they are each unique as well. PPA has great range and talent and our experience with them has always been very pleasurable..
