Living room decor advice
I'd love some advice on some accents or furniture that could help tie my living room together. Our hand-me-down furniture feels disconnected in terms of color and style. The sofa is a bit more formal than I would prefer but we're going to keep it for a while as we have two toddlers who are tough on furniture. I'm also open to new furniture layout as this is an open living - dining - kitchen space and right now the sofa defines the living area. I prefer the style of the kitchen a little more country than the modern art that I have going on in the living room.

Kommentare (8)Je älter wir werden, desto minimalistischer werden wir auch. Dinge, die ausschließlich der Dekoration dienen, haben wir über die Jahre und mehrere Umzüge aussortiert, weil wir uns damit nicht mehr belasten wollen. Unsere Dekoration besteht überwiegend aus dänischen Glassachen, die wir auch im Alltag benutzen, und wir haben immer frische Blumen, an denen man die Jahreszeit ablesen kann (gerade jetzt: Narzissen). Ansonsten haben wir durch 20 lfm raumhohe Verglasung freien Blick in den Garten, und die Natur sorgt schon von allein für Abwechslung. Eine Freundin von mir dekoriert und räumt ständig um, so dass es immer eine Überraschung gibt, wenn ich sie besuche. Ihr ist das ein Bedürfnis, und dann finde ich das toll. Kommentare (5)Hi Valerie, Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I am trying since forever to find some pillows in a similar color like the mint in the carpet, but with no success till now. The carpet is 190X290 cm, in the pics is not completely unfolded. Hopefully it will fit well. A big piece of artwork is also on my wishlist, but i feel i need to buy those pillows first . Kommentare (6)Since you are not allowed to paint the ceiling, it should be the only wooden surface in the room. The floor can be covered by either wall-to-wall carpet or a large rug, but please check if a door that opens into the room will still be operable. Multi-use and visually light furniture is important in such a tight space. I would replace the bunk bed (you're too grown-up anyway) with a nice sleeper sofa like, for instance, Flottebo. And I'd buy a comfy chair that can be used for reading and as a desk chair. It should be unobtrusive and easy to move like this feminine rattan chair. If you don't need a desk on a daily basis, I'd recommend a height-adjustable notebook table (on casters) that can double as a side table next to the sofa/ bed. Again, multi-use is the key. Once you've chosen new furniture, you can decide on curtains, rug/ carpet and other decorative elements. Wall colors are usually the last decision because you can have millions of hues individually mixed. Also consider how much natural light your room gets....mehr

vor 8 JahrenZuletzt geändert: vor 8 JahrenKeep the couch where it is and move in closer/on carpet + add a console table behind (and add baskets underneath for storage) and move the single chairs to either side of fireplace + ottoman in middle. I would make a dedicated play area along the wall to the right and would bring in the colors from your art with lots of pillows and maybe a throw. If you can find another place for your rug and I would use a natural fibre rug and bamboo roman blinds. I can't find a good example of the look, but thought the elements of the picture below may help - rustic/modern look with pops of color, lots of pillows, large baskets for toys, casual accessories, etc.
