Beautiful door. Is it an overheard door?

I'd like to know the difference between an overhead door and a overhead “carriage house door”

This is an overhead door. Overhead is the actual operation of the door, meaning that it goes up in tracks and ends up over your head in the garage in a horizontal position. Other door functions include swing (where the doors are two pieces split vertically in the middle and open out), sliders (the door is one large slab and slides from one side to the other), and what is called the skin buster...which isn't made anymore (one large door that tilts out and then goes up and in as one large piece). A carriage door is defined by the following: 1) Double center stiles (there are three in the picture above), they are two vertical boards side by side in the center with a saw cut running down the middle to make them look like they swing out. 2). Large window section. Our doors and wood doors offer this, most steel carriage doors only offer up to 24" top sections...our are 30" or 32", depending on the model. The one above is 30". 3) Finally, a stile and rail, often with batten face, construction. Basically overlays added to build the look out on the door.

I hope this was helpful. If you have more questions just give us a call, we're always happy to help.
