Kommentare (11)Hi Ella, wow, that looks like a real challenge... The really low "Kniestock" together with your size doesn´t work well. I think you need to move the kitchen pretty far into the room to be able to properly move around and operate the kitchen. For instance if you imagine standing in front of the sink - if i read the floorplan correctly, if you move just a little bit to the right, you´ll bump your head into the angled wall. In addition, the whole area below the angled wall is actually not usable for a worktop area, because it´s just too low. Even if you place storage room there, it´s not really comfortable to reach. Can you add some more picture of the rest of the room? I think you need a complete layout including dining area and living room area and not only focus on the kitchen. Kommentare (25)Hi Nicola, thank you so so much. Its just so nice. So pretty. The good thing is its not a mind bender. I was already thinking something on the lines. But the elements had to fit together. And now it looks they do. What I had not thought at all is the upholstery thing. It’s so nice. Even if I cannot do uphostry , I have gotten the idea now. I would somehow make the back of shelves and the heastbound side of bed same or coordinated, in order to make it kind of cozy niche corner as you have nicely put it. For shelves I was thinking to use a single piece or may a two pieces of 4x4 shelves like IKEA Kalax to creat a kind of partition of about 120 cm As I said I was thinking of similar things but as it comes from an expert I feel very happy. One more thing. For the colors would you recommend the ones I see already in the Sketsch??? Secondly, for the floor in the second / Upper room i was thinking of using small rugs in different colors witha kind of collage ( the pupose being easy maintainece, as a bigger carpet has to be send for professional carpet cleaners or need carpet cleaning machine). Small rugs if one is spoiled is easier to replace , which not easy in case of a bigger one that is wall to wall and heavy. Small rugs are easy to clean an rearrange. Of course under that I can add a light floor matt under these rugs to hold them together.( In both cases what colors , should be good. I mean if I add one piece carpet that would be almost half of the room, which colors should I take) or do you think it will make the rather smaller place look too busy and I should go for a full size carpet? Kommentare (5)Hello! I would definitely recommend to take out the wall. Your room will feel so much more spacious and bright because you'll also get the light from the window when you sit at the dining table. Kitchen island is a perfect idea – it creates a lot of extra storage and is ideal for a communicative kitchen/dining situation (no divider between kitchen and dining area). With various shelves and built-in cabinets you can create even more storage room. Living in a space before making any changes is a wise decision – as long as it comes to furniture. When it's about taking out a wall you'll probably never do that later on ;) Happy to discuss if you need more inspiration / ideas – Just book a time that suits you. Cheers Anna...mehragalmiche

vor 9 JahrenCatlady999, there is a large pantry off to the left. The house that we just sold had a similar pantry set up and I am ok with it. Its not as bad as you think. As long as there is room for things that are used a lot. As mentioned before my husband does most of the cooking. He is from South Louisiana and he is a "one pot" meal kind of guy so no need for a lot of kitchen gadgets and we arent coffee drinkers so no Kurig or coffee pot. The door to the right of the island goes to an outdoor kitchen/ living area. We knew we would cook outside a lot so thats why the the size of the indoor kitchen wasn't priority. Firoozeh, you are right about no space to put things that come out of the over. Here is another pic. You can see that the space to the right is a dining area. If we were to move the refrigerator, the wall would go away as well. Triandos Creations, I will post the original plan from my phone in a min. which had a cabinet like you are talking about. I opted to remove that and add 2 feet to the island because there was a wall on the side of the cabinet that made it more difficult to "center" the whole look of the kitchen from the living area. If I were to move the island over enough to center it, it would only leave a little over 1' to walk.

vor 9 JahrenMy mom was like that - can't tell you what manipulations we went through just hanging art in her home. I'm going to throw a monkey wrench at ya! The door opposite the kitchen is on an angle. Why not try to match the island to it and expand it to be more versatile? Looks like you have the space to try something like this, which is balanced, but angled to make things much more interesting and convenient, as well as beautiful. It also takes the pressure off with hubs! I do like having sink and fridge in close proximity for easy offloading of foods to be prepped.

vor 9 JahrenI really think you've got lots of work space here. If my math is correct, you've got about 3-3 1/2 feet on each side of the cooktop. I've got 4' on either side of mine and that's more than plenty even with toasters, blenders and knife blocks taking up space.
The symmetry of the back wall is really quite good, and it's what your eye will be happy with. Don't worry too much about the island not being centered on that wall - the far wall will get most of the attention.
I might consider sliding the dishwasher and sink to the right (maybe have only a 9" tray divider at the end - good for cutting boards). This will give you more space to the left of the sink.
Hopefully (!) I've managed to attach a pic of mine while under construction, so you can see what I mean about the counter space.
