I highly recommend Michael and his team. They nailed our remodel. All of the built-in storage is well thought out and has helped us keep the house less cluttered. Love the color choices and material mixtures. Almost a year in and still loving it.

Michael worked with us to renovate our kitchen, and we could not recommend him more. His attention to detail, keen design eye, and wealth of knowledge was instrumental throughout the process, especially since this was our very first renovation project. He came to the table with great ideas — in particular, he devised a way to allow us to vent our hood outside when we didn't think that was possible. We also appreciate his openness to feedback and collaborating with us on design solutions and ideas. We're very happy with our new kitchen, and would not hesitate to work with him again on future projects.

I am in the midst of a large project designed by Michael Tauber and his team. This is my second project with MTA. The first project was a huge success and this time I am again very pleased. His designs are beautiful, clean, modern, and energizing. He has been quick to respond and supportive throughout, thinks the details through carefully and is diligent in making sure the whole process goes well. I feel very fortunate to be working with Michael Tauber on my kitchen remodel — he’s brilliant. The project is complex due to the layout of the kitchen and adding a 1/2 bath in the existing space. We’re also blending the Craftsman style of the rest of the house with a more contemporary kitchen — Michael designed a beautiful solution. He impresses me with his creativity and ability to problem solve. He asks the right questions throughout the project and listens to understand what I’m looking for aesthetically and functionally. I especially appreciate his honesty if I start down a path that’s going to be contrary to my goal. Michael is driven by the desire for his clients to “love” the work and this comes through in his approach and commitment. He’s been fantastic in finding and helping me to select interesting and unique appliances, tiles, etc. — everything from styles to textures to colors. To top it off, Michael is enjoyable to work with…he’s very open, patient and insightful, and brings a good sense of humor. I only wish I had another kitchen so we could do it again!

Micheal Tauber Architect is working with me to redesign my vintage flat in San Francisco. He is a great designer, listener, and communicator. He is designing the Kitchen/pantry/laundry, extension of a south wall to improve light and view, and converting a middle bedroom and old sink-washroom to a master bath with 2 walk-in closets for the bedrooms. He is respects my vintage "sacred cows" as he designs a remodel plan that integrates vintage with modern bathrooms and kitchen.

Michael designed an in-law apartment for our home from the ground up. He came in with a few ideas, consulted with us the whole way, always remained calm, and objective. When we asked for changes, or alternative ideas, he was always willing to accommodate us, yet honest enough to explain why somethings would not work for us. Michael met with the City, and with contractors as they did their walk through to bid the job. And it was never too late for him to stop by to update us on something new, or to drop something off. Michael always kept in touch with us whether via phone, emails, or text. His work is exact, and he is true to his word. Would we use Michael Tauber Architecture again? IN A HEARTBEAT....

He is creative and really worked hard to execute our vision while staying true to his style and design. Not only did he do a wonderful job with the architectural plan, from vision for the overall re-structure all the way to details and finishes, he also easily worked around any issues with the existing building structure, the Marin building department and coordinated flawlessly with our contractor. Michael resolved all of the challenges of the project, never missed a detail or deadline and always went above and beyond his duties. It would be difficult to find someone with a superior combination of vision, experience, and commitment to work with on any remodeling project.

As a graphic designer, my visual and sensory environment is critical to my happiness and creativity. I have worked with Michael on two different projects, both times he listened to my needs, and budgetary constraints and was able to design something that I truly love. From the early sketches through construction he was there to answer questions I had and the contractor had while keeping a focused eye on the details. I think every one should hire an architect like Michael because design matters.
