Studio Joa Herrenknecht

Studio Joa Herrenknecht is a multi disciplinary design studio based in Berlin. Founded in 2012 by Joa Herrenknecht the independent design studio works on product and interior design, as well as developing Corporate Identities/ Print & Packaging. We offer a wide range and full service, working closely with our clients and our network of experienced craftsmen. Starting with an on-site meeting, we research your needs and develop a custom made plan for you, working with you until the project is finished. During this process we include our knowledge of contemporary design brands as well as our own skill to make custom made furniture fitting your space and needs. More about the Designer: Joa studied Product Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe, Germany - (MA 2010) visiting classes of Prof. Volker Albus, Werner Aisslinger, James Irvine and Stefan Diez. After graduating she moved to New York - working as an assistant for Studio Dror in Manhattan. In 2011 the designer attended a post-grad course in graphic and packaging design in Sydney, Australia, receiving her second degree as a graphic designer. Subsequently wanting to start her own business, the designer moved to Germany and started her own company: Design Studio Joa Herrenknecht, based in Berlin. Working on graphic, interior and product design projects, she has established the Studio with her wonderful international team. Having been nominated for the prestigious German Design Award 2014 and being part of ' best young international talents selected and presented at 'D3 Contest/IMM Cologne' 2014 - and since 2015 also part of AD Selects (a platform promoting young international designers, curated by AD Magazine) - the Studio is steadily growing to be a new highlight of Berlins creative scene and eager to work with you. Joa's work experiences include working at a Carpentry, an Architecture Studio, Studio Luigi Colani, Studio Patricia Urquiola (Milan, Italy 2006/7), Studio Dror (New York, USA 2010). As an independent designer she has worked for WMF, Nanoo (CH), kr design GmbH, Design Within Reach/ DWR (USA), Vom Fass and is a member of the Bolia design team (Denmark). She works on privately commissioned project on interior and graphic design, as well as on her own collection.
