Arbordale LandscapingStepping stones in a minimal gravel paved area lead past two lounge chairs to the intimate dining area. The herringbone-patterned limestone patio dissipates into a lush planting bed filled with loose swaths of shade-loving perennials and seasonal bulbs. Beech hedging, and formal clipped evergreens, surround the space and provide privacy, structure and winter interest to the garden. On axis to the main interior living space of the home, the fountain, is the focal point of the garden. A limestone water wall featuring an engraved pattern of fallen Honey Locust leaves nods to the centrally located mature Honey Locust tree that anchors the garden. Water, flowing down the wall, falls a short distance into a pool with a submerged limestone panel. The light noise of the falling water helps soften the sounds of the bustling downtown neighbourhood, creating a tranquil back drop for living and entertaining.

Water feature was designed for safety - our customer has small children and they did not want any depth of standing water. Alderwood Landscape Architecture and ConstructionThe final design includes several "courtyard" and transitional spaces to accommodate the unique grading and provide several lounge spaces. Each of the home's many windows provides a different, picturesque view of the water feature focal point. The hot tub is purposefully close to the house for easy access, yet carefully positioned out of sight from the rest of the lounge areas so as to not draw attention away from the focal point.
Quaint seating spaces, a fire pit lounge area, and a covered dining space are accented by ornamental grasses, hydrangeas, and night lighting. Our clients are thrilled with how the final project made their oddly shaped yard now perfectly fit their landscape needs and desires!

We used the formal planting of the yew domes and the lawn to create structure whilst softening the borders with delicate, flowing plants in a simple colour palette.
Gelderman Landscape ServicesAt this newly renovated Burlington home we wanted to create a backyard space that would allow for entertaining family and friends. Contemporary paving stones were used to create the pool patio/dining area where we installed modern rectilinear pool featuring a sheer decent water feature wall. A custom garden shed was built to incorporate pool equipment. Other custom features include a fireplace, BBQ and cabana complete with heating and lighting. Landscape lighting and a fully automated irrigation system complete the project.
