The focal point of this beautiful family room is the bookmatched marble fireplace wall. A contemporary linear fireplace and big screen TV provide comfort and entertainment for the family room, while a large sectional sofa and comfortable chaise provide seating for up to nine guests. Lighted LED bookcase cabinets flank the fireplace with ample storage in the deep drawers below. This family room is both functional and beautiful for an active family.

Located near the base of Scottsdale landmark Pinnacle Peak, the Desert Prairie is surrounded by distant peaks as well as boulder conservation easements. This 30,710 square foot site was unique in terrain and shape and was in close proximity to adjacent properties. These unique challenges initiated a truly unique piece of architecture.
Planning of this residence was very complex as it weaved among the boulders. The owners were agnostic regarding style, yet wanted a warm palate with clean lines. The arrival point of the design journey was a desert interpretation of a prairie-styled home. The materials meet the surrounding desert with great harmony. Copper, undulating limestone, and Madre Perla quartzite all blend into a low-slung and highly protected home.
Located in Estancia Golf Club, the 5,325 square foot (conditioned) residence has been featured in Luxe Interiors + Design’s September/October 2018 issue. Additionally, the home has received numerous design awards.

This home had breathtaking views of Torrey Pines but the room itself had no character. We added the cove ceilings for the drama, but the entertainment unit took center stage! We wanted the unit to be as dramatic and custom as it could be without being too heavy in the space. The room had to be comfortable, livable and functional for the homeowners. By floating the unit and putting lighting under and on the sides with the stone behind, there is drama but without the heaviness so many entertainment centers have. Swivel rockers can use the space for the view or the television. We felt the room accomplished our goals and is a cozy spot for all.

Our main focus in this beautiful beach-front Malibu home was the view. Keeping all interior furnishing at a low profile so that your eye stays focused on the crystal blue Pacific. Adding natural furs and playful colors to the homes neutral palate kept the space warm and cozy. Plants and trees helped complete the space and allowed “life” to flow inside and out. For the exterior furnishings we chose natural teak and neutral colors, but added pops of orange to contrast against the bright blue skyline.
This multipurpose room is a game room, a pool room, a family room, a built in bar, and a in door out door space. Please place to entertain and have a cocktail at the same time.

Designed by architect Bing Hu, this modern open-plan home has sweeping views of Desert Mountain from every room. The high ceilings, large windows and pocketing doors create an airy feeling and the patios are an extension of the indoor spaces. The warm tones of the limestone floors and wood ceilings are enhanced by the soft colors in the Donghia furniture. The walls are hand-trowelled venetian plaster or stacked stone. Wool and silk area rugs by Scott Group.

For this 1961 Mid-Century home we did a complete remodel while maintaining many existing features and our client’s bold furniture. We took our cues for style from our stylish clients; incorporating unique touches to create a home that feels very them. The result is a space that feels casual and modern but with wonderful character and texture as a backdrop.
The restrained yet bold color palette consists of dark neutrals, jewel tones, woven textures, handmade tiles, and antique rugs.

Overview
Extension and complete refurbishment.
The Brief
The existing house had very shallow rooms with a need for more depth throughout the property by extending into the rear garden which is large and south facing. We were to look at extending to the rear and to the end of the property, where we had redundant garden space, to maximise the footprint and yield a series of WOW factor spaces maximising the value of the house.
The brief requested 4 bedrooms plus a luxurious guest space with separate access; large, open plan living spaces with large kitchen/entertaining area, utility and larder; family bathroom space and a high specification ensuite to two bedrooms. In addition, we were to create balconies overlooking a beautiful garden and design a ‘kerb appeal’ frontage facing the sought-after street location.
Buildings of this age lend themselves to use of natural materials like handmade tiles, good quality bricks and external insulation/render systems with timber windows. We specified high quality materials to achieve a highly desirable look which has become a hit on Houzz.
Our Solution
One of our specialisms is the refurbishment and extension of detached 1930’s properties.
Taking the existing small rooms and lack of relationship to a large garden we added a double height rear extension to both ends of the plan and a new garage annex with guest suite.
We wanted to create a view of, and route to the garden from the front door and a series of living spaces to meet our client’s needs. The front of the building needed a fresh approach to the ordinary palette of materials and we re-glazed throughout working closely with a great build team.
