UserThe homeowner hired us to overhaul their plain bedroom to make a fun and design oriented bedroom for their 2 year old son. They did not want the traditional bright colored bedroom that most children have, they wanted a more pinterest feel bedroom that they wouldn't be ashamed to show their friends and family. We ripped up the green carpet and installed bamboo hardwood floor. painted the walls and added double crown moulding. We also helped them install all of the artwork and fixtures.

CM Natural DesignsChipper HatterThis adorable beach cottage is in the heart of the village of La Jolla in San Diego. The goals were to brighten up the space and be the perfect beach get-away for the client whose permanent residence is in Arizona. Some of the ways we achieved the goals was to place an extra high custom board and batten in the great room and by refinishing the kitchen cabinets (which were in excellent shape) white. We created interest through extreme proportions and contrast. Though there are a lot of white elements, they are all offset by a smaller portion of very dark elements. We also played with texture and pattern through wallpaper, natural reclaimed wood elements and rugs. This was all kept in balance by using a simplified color palate minimal layering.

PBH DesignThis bedroom was designed with senior living in mind. A spacious bedroom with large doors allows the occupant to easily maneuver about. The drapery panels on the closet add a design element to the room as well as allow for easy access without the trouble of bifold doors coming off track or the trouble of having to maneuver around a door swing if using a walker or wheelchair. This allows the occupant to be as independent as possible. I think the same principle works well for children.

Pu'uwai Design & ConstructionThe white master bedroom with it's board and batten paneling, it's row of large double hung windows, and high ceilings speak to the traditional plantation styling of the home. We decorated the bedroom with natural stained wood dresser, a beautiful cane bed frame, and a natural jute rug. The bed covering is a tradition Hawaiian quilt in green and white, and the artwork above the bed is by local artist Jamie Allen.
