Ellen Rolli Contemporary Painter

My partner and I purchased one of Ellen's large-scale works titled "Breakthrough" in July 2016. Breakthrough embodies many of the qualities we love about Ellen's work: subtle yet bold use of color, three dimensionality, expressiveness and a liberating artistic process. We discovered Ellen's work over a year ago during an open studio in Boston's SOWA district and it made a lasting impression. In July 2016, we revisited Ellen's studio to purchase Breakthrough. Ellen graciously spent an hour talking to us about her work and allowed us to view multiple pieces from various orientations. After the sale was complete, she finished the edges of Breakthrough and installed hardware to the back. She even delivered Breakthrough to our home later that week. Since then, we have stayed in touch with Ellen, visiting her studio and sharing photos of Breakthrough in our home. We have been impressed by Ellen's professionalism and care. We look forward to collecting more of her work in the future.

Ellen and I met locally in our common city of Melrose at an event a few months ago and it reminded me of her work and how much I loved her art. I had also bought a few pieces of hers many years ago for a client, so I knew her work well. After a visit to her South End Studio my husband and I decided that her style would be perfect for a new piece for our own home and the results did not disappoint. She was so graceful too work with and the collaboration on this personal custom piece was wonderful. I will certainly work with Ellen again on future projects and hope to get her work onto some of my own professional residential interior design projects.

Ellen is an excellent painter and her works have tremendous character. She is especially talented in the use of color and texture. I'm proud to display her work in the entryway of my home. Although I visited her studio in Boston and considered buying one of the paintings on display there, I ended up purchasing a piece over the internet and was very pleased with the way the transaction and the shipping were handled.

We have been following Ellen's work over the last 15 years or so and have enjoyed all stages of her artistic development. We are lucky enough to own one of her earlier works (portrait) as well as one of her recent pieces that is inspired by a recent visit to Ireland. Ellen is extremely talented as well as being a wonderful person! Go and visit her studio, you won't be disappointed!

I love Ellen's art but the fact that she's such a nice person and makes buying her art such an interesting and comfortable process, the whole experience is just that much more positive.

We recently completed construction of a finished basement in Winchester, MA with office/studio, media room and full bath. The focal point of the project is a magnificent Ellen Rolli 6'x4' abstract painting with rich colors that "pop out" of the canvas and unify the rooms in a single flow of space leading to the art work. We first saw Rolli's work in an open artist showing in Boston's historic South End. Her artistry is exceptionally expressive and spontaneous. Given the size of the painting, she volunteered to wrap and deliver it in person to our home. Her work can be viewed on Facebook along with her contact information.

I purchase the painting titled Verde by Ellen Rolli when I came upon it at the Thos Mosher Gallery in the Back Bay. It is an exquisite piece, lush with colors and while non representational is clearly emblematic of the area of northern Italy where Ellen had recently traveled. Her style is full of expression and depth. I love it.
