We tried working with other designers on our major (to the studs/18 months of construction) remodel prior to Mario, but he was THE ONE. He was exactly what we were looking for. He had an amazing ability to figure out what we were trying to accomplish and then design a beautiful and functional way to do it and in synch with other parts of our house. Marcio has the unique combination of creative talent, the ability to read the client and figure out what he/she wants and is the most humble person who works well with your contractor and vendors. He is a joy to be with. He is patient and kind. Everyone in the business loves him. I was a very difficult client. I couldn’t describe what I wanted. Marcio worked with me using photos, sketches and renderings to finalize my vision. He easily pivoted when I changed my mind without any of the diva attitude I experienced with other designers. The end product exceeded my expectations and is jaw dropping gorgeous. I would never even consider working with anyone else.

We hired Marcio to design and modernize the common areas of our seven-building, 35-year-old Hotel/Condominium complex, The Palisades Tahoe Lodge (Formerly the Squaw Valley Lodge). Although we are an HOA of 218 individual unit owners, many of us rent to guests, and our facilities are very similar to a hotel. Our project required remodeling our main lobby, conference room, bathrooms, gym, indoor spa, steam, sauna and locker rooms, as well as common areas in other buildings. We chose Marcio and Aspen Leaf Interiors because Mario had strong credentials, experience in commercial projects, was reasonably priced and had a beautiful portfolio. Marcio quickly understood that we wouldn’t be updating again for many years, and therefore, needed a design that fit the Tahoe surroundings, was timeless and not too trendy or rustic. Marcio initially presented us with two different design concepts, including material drawings, so he could better understand our vision. From there, Marcio presented us with a more detailed design plan, complete with drawings and material/furniture samples that fit all of our specifications and worked well in a commercial setting. When our contractor indicated some items in the design may be over budget, Marcio worked extensively with us to find reasonable substitutes or re-design areas so that we could remain within our budget. The end result of our remodel project is a beautiful, timeless design with unique features that are complimented by our surrounding mountain environment. Marcio was a pleasure to work with and we were impressed by his ability to immediately understand and articulate our requests into a design that surpassed our expectations in a very creative and custom way. Marcio is truly artistic in the details and the way he designs spaces and utilizes materials. Our common areas are now warm and inviting with comfortable spaces to relax in, rather than appearing like a commercial hotel. We have received very positive reviews from both our guests and owners.
