We had a wonderful experience using Avalon NW from the first time I walked up to "some guy at his truck" (turned out to be Jeremy) over a year prior to ask about their services as they were finishing up a neighbor's beautiful landscaping job - Jeremy was so friendly and personable and chatted a bit and gave me their card. From planning to finish Kevin was the consummate professional, filled with really great ideas, is highly specific and detailed, and is a fantastic communicator. We always knew exactly where things stood from both a timeline and budget perspective. This also extended to his crew and how he treats them - he is just a quality human, they all are. During the actual construction it was primarily Jeremy and Fraser who were there putting in the hours and they were so terrific to work with. When it came to implementing some design elements (deck shape, or privacy fencing for example) they would start and then knock on the door and check in to give us an opportunity to view and make any possible changes before the point of no return. They did hardscaping, landscaping, sprinkler system and lighting. I cannot recommend Avalon NW highly enough.

Avalon NW is truly superb. We had them do a complete remodel of our outside. The work included the demo of an old porch, removal and replacement of old rotting columns supporting our roof, installment of a steel retaining wall, tree removal, rebuilding the front porch, adding a deck to an ancient garage, fencing, installing irrigation, installing turf and sod, rock work, planting, and installing outdoor lighting. The work was very high quality, the communication throughout the project was tremendous, and potentially the best part of it all, the team was a joy to have around. Having Avalon NW in our yard daily for 4-months was an unexpected joy. Kevin and his team of Jeremy and Fraser are the nicest, most skilled, hardest working, and most accommodating humans you could ever find. We were sad to see them go while being overjoyed to have the yard so wonderful when complete. We cannot recommend a team more!

I have literally lost track of how many projects the great guys at Avalon NW have done for us at our home over the years. We have a 1907 Craftsman in Queen Anne and Avalon has done everything to help us make our home special. Rock walls, bluestone patios, iron firepits, unique fencing, ornamental lighting, ipe decks, sprinkler systems and even an outdoor kitchen: there is nothing they can't help you with. Not only are they great at the execution, they can design or help improve upon your ideas. Kevin, Jeremy and Fraser are awesome people to work with as they listen to your wants, stay on budget and get the work done on time. We will keep inviting them back.

These guys are the best. Period. We hired Avalon to revamp our front and side yard, put up a fence, and rebuild a covered deck attached to the house. Kevin, the owner, is an honest, reliable and communicative guy. From bid to finish, he was a pleasure to work with. His team is also top notch - Jeremy and the crew have great attention to detail and commitment to their craft. We had a few quirks left over from a prior remodel and Jeremy was a master craftsmen in dealing with challenges left by the prior contractor. All aspects of their work was high quality, done well and with great care from the cedar fence to the Ipe deck to the concrete walkway and all the plants in between (by they way, they are the best tree trimmers we've ever hired too, and that's not even their forte). In addition to being high quality, Avalon is the most professional contractor in the game (and I've hired several). These guys are where they say they will be when they say they'll be there. And sometimes they are even there when they don't say they'll be there - After our project was completed we had a few boxwoods (those are plants, don't worry, I didn't know what they were either) that wouldn't take and Avalon noticed on a drive-by (rooting, not shooting) and simply replaced them without telling us. We did a house remodel the year before we hired Avalon and went with the low-cost bid on that project, regretting it. In looking for someone to do our yard, we were committed to not repeating that mistake. You get what you pay for and Avalon is worth every penny. Bonus: Jeremy is really good with kids. Our two-year-old son loved watching him work through the window. He might look like Jeremiah Johnson, but don't worry, he's really a big teddy bear.

Kevin, Jeremy, and the whole team did an amazing job. One thing to note is that they don't paint or stain, so you'll have to find someone else for that. They will take care of most anything else you need though. They built a beautiful stone retaining wall, steel planters, small fence, and a trellis. The lighting, irrigation, drainage, and other details were taken care of expertly. The concrete looks great, and everything was done in a careful and detail-oriented way. If you want your landscaping done right, go with Avalon NW.

We just enjoyed the completion of our second project with Avalon and as was true the first time, the work and communication were seamless and perfect. Kevin was incredibly accommodating, always looking for ways to improve upon our plans and always going above and beyond whenever possible. The work by Avalon is gorgeous and the highest of quality, the team is a well-oiled machine! I cannot recommend enough, thanks again Kevin and Avalon!

Wow! What a team! At the recommendation of our landscape architect at Banyon Tree Design (http://www.banyontreedesign.com/), we met with Avalon and knew straight away they were the team for us. This is a 5-star company from top-down, winning our confidence at every step of the project anchored by their consistent, timely, and professional communications. Our project ended up being close to an eight-week job and without fail the crew was onsite every morning at the prescribed start time and worked a full day (and night, when your cement pour is later and wetter than planned) – they take pride in doing amazing work, and it shows. What sets this company and crew apart in our eyes is their creativity, ability to pivot, the patience and genuine interaction you get when questions or concerns are raised on either end and the personal touch they applied to our project. A great example came in the first few days of the job, asking them to expose a boulder that was buried and work it into the landscape. We had dug out a portion of the rock but truly didn't know how big it would be. They got to work and through some crafty digging, pushing, prodding, and without breaking unearthed a large boulder that became the new focal point and feature for a dry creek bed, that really came to life. This is a great group of pros, and after being a predictable part of our day for a few months, we really missed them once they moved on to their next lucky clients. You've got a winner with Avalon!

We have worked with Kevin and his crew for over 15 years, we can't say enough about them! They are 100% professional, masters of their craft and most importantly they are straightforward, trustworthy, sincere and really care about their clients. Kevin will stop by long after our project is finished just to check in to make sure we are happy. Their service is impeccable! People walking by our home frequently give unsolicited compliments and often take photos of their beautiful workmanship. We can't thank them enough!

These guys are hard-working, innovative, creative, tidy (!), and just pleasant human beings. And they show up when they say they are going to show up. When they were done, we were not only completely in awe of the way the project turned out, but felt like we had met a whole new branch of our family. They have also graciously returned several times to help us understand how to run the watering, where the lines were, and how the lighting system works....(we didn't pay attention the first time!) Our project included replacing rotten railroad ties terracing with Corten steel walls, installing watering systems, pathway and specimen lighting, and ancillary power. They completely replanted the garden, taking special care of an ancient and beautiful maple, replaced walkways, and spruced up a stone garden. Having gotten permission from a neighbor to use part of his property for staging the materials early in the project, they completely renovated that staging area before they left, allowing the neighbor to have a brand-new vegetable garden - way above and beyond! We would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone needing help with their landscape design and implementation.

The Avalon crew are meticulous and highly skilled artisans when it comes to landscape installation. Our project incorporated five distinct areas of our property, the Avalon crew built fountains, installed stone walls and pathways, lighting, stairways, sourced specimen trees, stone, tile, and even a Boulder in which they carved out and rigged a gas fire pit. Their work is stunning.

What can we say about Avalon NW- these guys are experts of their craft! The dust has settled since we had our yard landscaped and we we couldn't be more pleased with how everything came out. Working through the plans with Kevin from Avalon NW and designer Lisa Port from Banyon Tree, we had a shared vision of the project. The work started in earnest with the Avalon crew of Jeremy and Fraser; we were so impressed with their professionalism, positivity, and work ethic. They can handle any curveballs you throw their way. The plan of a whole new front and back yard included a deck with built in benches, steel water feature and planter boxes, wooden trellis, stone patio, gravel pathway and an abundance of trees and plants. We now spend so much time enjoying the yard: having friends over for barbecues, lazing on the hammock, and growing vegetables in the planter boxes. Kevin did a great job keeping the project on track and following up. We can't thank them enough. If you can, hire them!

We are delighted with work done by Kevin and his crew at Avalon NW! Our major "yard remodel" included removing/transplanting existing plants (all of which survived!), defining plant boarders with steel edging, new hardscape, expanding/improving lighting, installing an irrigation system, and building a pergola. I was particularly impressed with the teams' craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtfulness. They were a joy to work with!
