There are many important choices when starting a renovation. Not one of them is more important than hiring the right architect. This one single decision probably has more weight that all others combined. Naturally, I was very concerned of finding the right person for a relatively difficult job. I decided to go with Steve, and that was the my best decision yet. Fist of all, he is great person. He did not rush or push for decision when we were completely confused. He guided us and helped choose what is right for our needs. We always had radical different choices or if we liked something in general he would still show a couple of subtle changes to improve the outcome. Second of all, Steve is a natural talent. Experience is a great asset but natural talent should always be at the base. His vision and understanding is extraordinary. If we were considering an idea there was no problem for him to get the pen and paper and sketch it for us. Finally, he never delayed the schedule. The prints were done without mistakes. On the entire project the contractor only had one small question. He said that never happened to him before. I always felt that no matter who I choose I will not be satisfied just by my nature of being perfectionist and I happy to say I was wrong. Thank you Steve!

Steve@Axios took on our big project despite its inherent complexity. Our custom 1960's contemporary home needed a fresh perspective in figuring out how to make it meet our expanding needs as a family. From the early idea stages through to completion, Axios helped develop a creative solution that ultimately gave us ~1,300 new square feet of space that included a new, larger kitchen, a new master suite and laundry, and a new room for our daughter. All of these spaces have fantastic windows that provide a lot of light and the natural woods chosen for the interior really connect the new space to the outdoors as well as to the existing structure. We love the details that Axios used to make the spaces extra special such as a plank nickel gap wall, a new laundry area with barn door that is both functional and beautiful, and many unique architectural details and materials. Without exaggeration, before-after reactions from those familiar with our home are consistently jaw-dropping. Our home feels like a vacation place in the heart of Atlanta!

Steve Robinson of Axios is highly talented. He has worked with my wife and I on 3 projects, ranging from remodelling a master bathroom (see his pictures) to building us a modern masterpiece from studs up in the heart of Buckhead. Steve's final work product on each project he has worked on for us is a blend of architectural beauty with everyday functionality. He has an amazing sense of scale and materials, and how each blends with your living environment. A lot of thought and care will go into your project. Your investment will be immediately realized when you are finished. We have a very special house, built by a very talented architect.

Our construction project was complicated; a complex site with streams on 3 sides of the house, a partial renovation with multiple issues and demolition and new construction of the major living area and garage. Our site limited our footprint but offered opportunities for highlighting the green surrounding our home that opened up our sight lines and made spaces flow together. From our very first meeting, we were convinced that we had selected the right architect. We found Steve to be creative and practical. He listens and spends the time to really understand your objectives. He then has the unusual ability to make the restrictions and constraints that our site presented become a part of the solution. Working with him is easy and comfortable. There is never a moment when you are not aware that his intention is to meet your needs, while he challenges you to consider alternatives.

I've been in this house that Steve Robinson designed for nearly a year, and I still get a thrill turning into my driveway! We wanted a beautiful and livable custom-built modern home, and Steve worked with us every step of the way to achieve that goal. Steve is thoughtful and thorough, and his visionary flair is apparent in every nook and cranny. He meticulously studied the lot’s dimensions and surrounding conditions, carefully considered the impact of natural sunlight, created inviting vistas, and provided sound, practical input on materials and finish selections in putting together his designs. We are totally happy we went with Axios Architecture.

I hired Axios to work with me on a whole house remodel in 2015. The house was a challenge to say the least, it's a mid-century modern of 4200 sq ft on 1 level and due to multiple expansions, we had some issues to contend with. He was able to meet me and my wife on a flexible time schedule as was always pleasant and professional and brought very thoughtful ideas to the table. Some of his concepts are now some of my favorite elements, notably the open floor plan in the great room and the corner windows in the living room, and the cleverly conceived "floating pedestal" in the dining room. During construction, I think our experience with Axios / Steve was one of the highlights of an otherwise stressful time period. Steve is a thoughtful person who can come up with solutions to the structural issues we faced during a remodel. When the going got tough with the project, he went toe to toe with our contractor to prevent them from making shortcuts that would have compromised the final product. At the end of it all, we're thrilled with the final product.

Excellent architect and would absolutely hire again and highly recommend to others. Steve is a true artist, a consummate professional and above all a great listener. As an architectural artist, he has wonderful ideas for design nuances and little details that would not occur to most people but that everyone notices and appreciates all while incorporating them into an overall theme or general sense of direction in a project. His years of experience in the industry are evidenced in his knowledge of construction materials and methods, required project timelines, zoning rules and permit regulations etc. He would always humbly profess these last few weren't his area of expertise as he continued to inform and help shepherd our project along successfully. Lastly, being a great listener allows Steve to understand what is most important to his clients in terms of the design/aesthetics, intention for or functional use of the space once complete, and any budgetary constraints that can be adhered to or designed towards maintaining. He helps clients prioritize those goals and achieve them with humble respect for his clients and resulting in beautiful projects large and small. With Axios and Steve, we have added about 900 square feet to the original footprint of our home but increased the functional utility well beyond just the SF. Steve has designed a custom mahogany kitchen table and a large cabinet fireplace surround for us but what blows people away is his design for our gut renovation that included a full kitchen, living room, massive deck, lower patio area, laundry room, drop zone, master bedroom, and master bath suite. Steve is a fantastic architect and a pleasure to work with.

Steve took the time to really listen to our needs and interests and produced a thoughtful and inspiring design while retaining the integrity of the original structure. He then worked closely with our builder to see the whole project through. We would recommend him - especially if you have a love of ranch homes like we do.

Steve was recommended by 2 friends who'd used his services recently. The master bathroom area to be remodeled is somewhat small and required close planning to incorporate the improvements my wife wanted. He help my wife select the tile which was the only difference of opinion we had. After lengthy discussions, we decided to go with his original choices and after the work was finished, we were very pleased with the result. I'd recommend Steve enthusiastically.

Axios provided an outstanding service to us. Every aspect of the relationship has been nothing but professional and enjoyable. Our experienced architect, Mr. Robinson, provided design options for an extension to our back porch. His creativity and flexibility to find the right design for us were welcome in an area where designs tend to be very similar. His design takes advantage of our backyard view and is a real masterpiece. The difficult roof tie-in was no problem for him while others were not willing to undertake the challenge. We look forward to dining and relaxing on our porch for many years to come as we take in our scenic view. Already neighbors and friends have commented very favorably on the unique modern design, quality construction and overall beautiful porch extension!

Steve Robinson, Axios Architecture, designed a kitchen and bath remodel for my condo. He supervised the construction, which was completed in 2015. The construction took longer than anticipated due to circumstances Steve could not control, but he hung in with all the details and I happily moved in last year and began enjoying the results. Not long ago, I took a 3-week trip. On my return, I was delighted to walk into my "new" condo and see it afresh. Great job, Steve. Thanks.

I have worked with Steve on numerous occasions while operating a design/build remodeling company in NE Atlanta over the past 40 years. Steve always provides a fresh perspective for clean, modern architecture. Some of his work reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright,. Most recently, I worked with Steve on a more than challenging renovation project at the church I attend. While serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, I interviewed Steve and other architects for consideration. Steve and I toured the building and discussed possibilities to accomplish the stated goals of consolidating scattered staff offices into a single portion of the building, creating a hospitable weekday building entrance, improved access for the handicapped and updating a 1960 fellowship hall. Steve recognized that more than architecture would be involved. He suggested that he first, interview all staff members to clearly understand each person's needs and expectations and with that he would develop several alternative conceptual plans for us to review.. We took Steve up on that proposal. We ended up using Steve as the project architect. He worked with a fantastic general contractor (Emery and Associates) to accomplish a very difficult assignment. We are pleased with the results.
