My experience with Brian Johnson and his firm was outstanding. Brian's passion, creativity and enthusiasm exceeded all expectations. We aren't sure if we are more impressed with the quality of individual he is or his business acumen. He spent close to 100 hours on our project, of which the majority was pro bono, just to make sure we kept the project within budget. We have plans to design again in the near future. Brian will be my first and only phone call I make to an architect. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not at least visit with him before considering a build or re-design. I'm happy to share my experience with anyone who wants to visit.

I worked with Brian Johnson to make our existing floor plan not only make it work structurally, but bring the exterior elevation design to a whole new level. I brought in 2 photos of homes I liked and he definitely delivered! He listened to our needs and worked with our budget. I love the look of our home and I can't wait to see the drawing come to life. One of the main reasons I contacted Brian Johnson and Nick Pancheau about my project was what I had seen in their other projects. These guys are professionals! Not only do they design big, huge commercial projects, they also work on small-scale projects. I wanted to tap into their creativity, expertise, and professional approach. I contacted Brian and Nick to develop a design for a tiny house on wheels. When I first met with them, we discussed my personal preferences in the design. They listened intently and allowed me to express my ideas. They offered suggestions from their professional perspective. Together, we arrived on the same page for the design of the tiny house. The enthusiasm for my project did not go unnoticed. I was impressed with their attention to detail and quality. When there was an issue, they communicated with me. They researched extensively and found the best, high-quality trailer to use as the foundation for the tiny house. It was an entirely positive experience. The details on all the utility systems are well thought out and documented. The construction is superb. We have hired Brian Johnson for two major projects . The first was a detached garage for a car collection. This garage compliments our property and could stand on its own as a lovely 1500 sq. ft. home. The second major project was a total remodel of a 1972 build on a beautiful parcel that will become our retirement home. His artistry and competence has made this home a piece of art and many of the home owners in the development have personally complimented Brian's new resurrection of a dated home. Currently we are in the beginning of the design of a small residence on a 20 acre property in the hills of Montana. Brian's skill in design, high standard of construction quality and deep respect of his client's opinions is unparalleled.

We worked with Brian on a complete kitchen remodel, which included removing walls, installing steel beams and completely redesigning the kitchen space. Brian has great imagination and wonderful design skills which allowed us to see what our new space could look like and how it could function. Our home was built in 1946 and has some unique design features we wanted to keep. He was able to design a wonderful, modernly functioning space which blends very well with existing features. He listened to and took into consideration all of our wishes regarding the new space. Brian also made suggestions/recommendations regarding finishes, materials, fixtures and appliances which were spot on. (He encouraged me to get the GE Monogram Advantium speed cook oven, which I absolutely love!). In addition, he worked well with an interior designer whom we engaged after the project was underway. Brian was also very helpful in making sure appliances were delivered in a timely fashion and has been very good and patient in answering all my questions during and after completion of the project. Whatever your project might be, if you work with Brian, you will have an outstanding outcome!

I am a professional cabinetmaker with many years experience in dealing with contractors, clients, and architects. My experiences with Brian Johnson of Collaborative Design Architects in Billings have been overwhelmingly positive for these reasons. Brian is professional in his behavior and attitude. Lots of times in a project small questions come up that need a quick answer. Brian stays in touch and answers immediately in a direct and clear manner. When problems, come up, Brian focuses on solutions and stays positive. Brian is talented. All of us in the shop have seen lots of cabinets and lots of designs. Brian's ability to transform a space into something beautiful and functional is exceptional. He has a special insight into what looks good and a practical approach to achieving his goals. We all want him to design our homes! Brian is thorough. A lot of times I have little contact with an architect or designer after a project starts. They seem to move on to the next thing and that's that. Brian stays involved until the customer is satisfied. While that sometimes means extra work for me, I respect his loyalty to the customer.
