Candace is a dream to work with -- professional, creative, meticulous in planning and in measuring for our kitchen and bath renovations. We are thrilled with the design that not only met our needs, but added professional touches that provided a major 'wow' factor. Candace was responsive throughout the project, happy to answer questions from the builders as needed. At the end, she went over every corner and surface, from floor to ceiling, and requested final upgrades that brought everything together, and then some. We heartily recommend Candace!

Candace Nordquist was our Interior Designer during our whole house renovation with Sockeye Homes. The main floor was the center of our major renovation, along with the new master’s suite bathroom, as well as updating and facelift of existing basement living area. Our coordination started with Candace after Patrick H (Hungerford Architects) finalized the drawings. First thing she asked was what our style selected for this renovation. We were leaning towards contemporary modern interior design. After she completed the preliminary interior layout plan of the whole house renovation we saw an enormous changed and it helped us visualize an open concept living and entertainment space. What a tremendous improvement in house flow. She really pushed the Sockeye team to come up with an innovative structural solutions (Tom Warren, Structural Engineer) to make this open concept a reality. We really loved the European style dark wood cabinets she picked, also helped pick the backsplash and quartz counter tops for the kitchen and the island counters as well as the beverage center. We also liked our spacious and clean looking master’s suite bathroom. Candace really did and excellent choice of counter top, shower tiles, and bath room fixtures. Candace was a pleasure to work with. The design ideas she created with our 3 different areas for upgrades were excellent. The basement kitchenette turns out spectacular with white tall cabinets as well as the pantry and the built-in column wine cooler. We highly recommend Candace and are looking forward to use her services again for our future project.

Re: review for Candace Nordquist, Interior Designer | Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer. Candace worked with us on a fairly major (to us) kitchen and bathroom remodel. From our first point of contact Candace was so easy and refreshing to deal with. She asked very salient questions helping us to rethink our ideas a lot and made so many good, constructive suggestions. The very detailed plans that she drew also helped us enormously to really visualize the changes. Furthermore, our construction company really likes working with Candace too as they can virtually construct from her drawings. They had exactly the detail they needed. Beyond this, Candace is a delightful person to deal with – nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble for her and no question we asked ever too silly! Our marvelous remodel is finished now and we are furniture shopping and are so very pleased to have Candace’s input too here. Good luck to anyone going through a remodel/new build. Candace was our designer and helped us with the selection process during a new construction project with Sockeye Homes. We wanted a clean farmhouse look and Candace helped us achieve exactly the look we were going for. She really knows the attributes that create a certain style whether modern or more classic. We really loved working with Candace. She's very professional, calm and really knows her stuff. The design she did for our kitchen came out awesome, we would have never been able to do it without her. Also she came in on budget with what she quoted us, which is a huge plus for us! Candace worked with us on a kitchen remodel, and I couldn’t be happier. Our original kitchen layout was a mess (oven door banged into the refrigerator) so the first thing she did was to help us get a more functional layout. She even managed to squeeze in a beautiful kitchen island that isn’t too small but leaves plenty of room to get around. Candace really worked to pick finishings consistent with our 1914 craftsman house but still bring us all the modern things we liked. She was easy-going and adapted easily once covid restrictions kicked in. Highly recommend!!

We hired Candace to design a new kitchen, powder/laundry room and master bathroom in our log home. Candace was patient and kind, especially with all of our questions. Her communication was always prompt and professional. We appreciated her flexibility during the design process, as we were living in another part of the country when we hired her. I have worked with Candace on two completed remodels at our house and like working with her so much she has designed a master bathroom remodel that will take place next year. The results have been spectacular and I have received so many compliments on our remodeled kitchen and a bathroom. Candace guides you through the design and material selection process. Because of Candace's work, the contractor knows exactly what to do and makes the remodel that much easier.

We hired Candace to assist us with designing our kitchen and selecting cabinets and materials. I was disappointed that she didn’t have any additional design ideas other than what we had presented. After shopping with her to pick out cabinets when we didn’t select the Belmont cabinets she is a rep for I felt abandoned in our project. She then contacted us almost five months later to see what we decided and I received a bill for additional consulting hours.

We worked with Candace through Sockeye Homes. Candace's interior design fees are a much smaller portion than the Project Cost listed here. We were doing a house addition of one room - a family room. It was roughly 20x25ft. We wanted built in entertainment unit/shelves and had two storage closets (pantry and sports utility). There was also an interior door to access this room. We thought it would be really straightforward and take no time. We were wrong. Candace was very resourceful in sketching out the interior designs, offering us different cabinetry options. She also helped us price different interior door option and ended up offering one that is more budget-friendly. She was proactive in doing so and also very responsive over email. In seeing her portfolio for other projects, I do not believe our project served to really demonstrate her skills.

Candance is a very, very significant SOCKEYE HOMES design specialist whose expertise started with the kitchen design on into the powder room, the total redesign of our wonderfully enjoyable and most modern master bath, carpeting and tile works throughout our remodel.....wow and well done Candance!

My husband and I were referred to Candice to remodel our home we initially built 21 years ago. She designed a complete remodel for our friends and they loved her work and were sure we would as well. Our intent was to remodel 3 bathrooms and a kitchen which turned in to a bit more, at our request. Candice was instrumental in helping us pick materials and colors to enhance our existing surfaces and colors. She measured and documented everything we needed on a program that made our general contractor's job much easier when providing a bid for us. Her attention to detail is amazing and she listened so well to what we wanted to do. She saw our vision and enhanced it at every level. She's calm and easy to work with even though we may have made her a bit crazy when faced with making spontaneous decisions we hadn't envisioned. Candice knows her products and the best vendors to work with. She has people she has worked with for a long time and trusts them to provide you with a great service in a timely manner. The products we used are the latest and greatest and we couldn't be happier with our remodel. She is truly a professional who knows her business and her expertise was invaluable to us.

In December 2013, my husband and I returned home from a Christmas shopping trip franticly. We received a phone call from my father that the entire house was flooded. The cold weather caused a major pipe to burst and for 2 days the house was saturated in water. The ceilings were on the floor and everything was ruined. Desperately, we tried to work with the insurance company and follow procedures that were not kind to any homeowner suffering from a great loss. What do we do? We had never worked with a professional designer but knew we had the opportunity to make our home into our dream home. We decided to research and discovered Houzz. Thank God! We were in need of an interior designer who was above the traditionalist, someone who could dream up possibilities and bring in materials and concepts that was custom. Every time I reviewed interior designers, Candace always stood above the rest. I was worried she was out of our league. Her portfolio is rich, clean and full of texture. Meeting Candace for the first time immediately gave us hope. Her knowledge on materials and cleaver ideas allowed us to remodel a damaged beautiful home into a gorgeous magazine ad. I am living in an incredible house with functional spaces that sparkle with glamour. We have the highest degree of technology incorporated into this home and the house is smart and on point with the newest trends. I'm controlling my home via my iPhone anywhere,anytime. If you are seriously considering a great interior designer, please take it from this review. I was skeptical hiring someone because I was afraid that my ideas would get lost or our budget wouldn't be respected. I started the remodel with such insecurity because I was always second guessing myself. Candace was able to provide the right answers and show me on a drawing, walk thru's at the design centers, brought every sample to my home and she is VERY responsive. She's follows through on every appointment and emails right after. Candace proved month after month her dedication to our project and always provided accurate documentation and pricing. Which was a major bonus because my husband is all about costs. Candace never stopped at "no", when a contractor told us why, Candace would challenge the idea and come up with a better solution! Candace was our designer when we worked with Sockeye Homes (Kent, WA) on a master suite/master bath remodel. After a house visit and conversation about what we wanted to do, she took me to Seattle-area stores that had a good variety of quality selections toward our vision. Even though we knew what we wanted, the shopping and decision-making could get overwhelming. In that, her very helpful and professional eye kept things focused. She helped find a solution when it was discovered we could not remove the zero clearance in the bathroom to expand the space. Her demeanor is very easygoing and she was responsive in communications. It was a pleasure to work with her; perhaps we will see her again for kitchen work if and when that time comes.

From the very moment that Candace walked into my home I knew it would be a good match! Candace is warm, sweet, friendly and intune with what her client needs and wants. She just asked questions about how our family lived and as we talked she made it feel as if we were neighbors getting to know each other. I gave Candace the task of coming up with a great design for our smallish, outdated kitchen without having to bump out the exterior wall but give us a more open, useful space. We knew it had to be gutted but wanted to keep the major walls intact and also wanted it to blend well with our connecting living space. . When Candace returned a week later with 6 or so different floor plans to choose from I was awed by what she came up with! Very clever little upgrades and unique details in addition to everything that I wanted in my dream kitchen, plus all of the concerns that I had about storage and things being addressed. This being a major renovation for us I was pretty indecisive about what I should choose and when I should choose them. Candace was so very patient with me, never making me feel like I was a bother to her. But she was also very helpful about directing me to the right path without pushing her styles onto me like so many interior designers tend to do. I consulted Candace from start to finish but she gave us the choice to use her expertise as little or as much as we felt comfortable. I'm so happy that I chose the latter because I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I would 100% recommend Candace for any home project you would have and I personnally wouldn't dream of consulting anyone other than Candace.

I have had the pleasuer several times to work along side Candace. She is very detailed oriented and calm. She listens to the clients and helps bring their ideas to life. As a General Contractor I rely on the designers to make sure all aspects of the design have been thought through and that drawings are complete so that we can execute without delay. Candace is very hands on, but at the same time provides the needed documents so that the homeowner knows exactly what to expect and my team knows what tasks to preform. We decided to remodel a bathroom that needed a whole new updated look. After viewing many bathrooms on Houzz, I found Candace's website and contacted her. She was so easy to work with, making recommendations based on our style and needs. She not only made sure everything was coordinated, she gave excellent recommendations for contractors. She came in right on budget and we ended up saving money by not making any costly mistakes. We will be remodeling our kitchen next and Candace will be the one I call. She has impeccable taste, knows about all the latest products and has great connections. She is the best!

We worked with Candace on our downstairs remodel and she was AMAZING!! After going over our initial vision with her, Candace gave us several floor plan options at various price points (which was appreciated!) Once we made the floor layout selection, we went to work together with her on choosing all the new appliances, paint colors, plumbing hardware, countertops, etc. etc. So many decisions to make! Neither my husband nor I are particularly creative, so Candace was a huge help in this department. :) We had several offsite (and onsite) meetings, she was always timely, had great suggestions and never strayed from our vision. And she was incredibly patient with us throughout the whole process . . . even when I switched locations of our wine fridge several times!! We would use her again in a heartbeat - we're already planning for our upstairs remodel!

Candace provided a calm professionalism which enabled me to get exactly what I wanted. I knew how I wanted my master bath to look, and she figured out all the technicalities to make my vision a reality. Candace never made me feel my shabby chic furnishings were strange choices. In fact, she thought using an old, painted mantel over the sink was rather creative. I could never use a designer who didn't allow me to drive my own project. I always have a vision...but I need an expert to help realize it. Candace Nordquist will always be the decorator I choose. As an update to my original review, I have worked with Candace on other remodels since 2012, including our main bathroom and a complete remodel of our downstairs turning it into our master bedroom suite/laundry room. Candace's input was central to how the finished product all came together without a hitch. She's invaluable in reworking old spaces, giving them better functionality and contemporary spaciousness. We worked with Candace on the interior details of a new home that we built. She helped us in selection of colors, finishes, tile, and cabinet design. We had been in our house for about 14 years (we bought it new) and had tried several projects to update, decorate and refresh our home over the years. We decided to seek professional help for a total home make-over and did a lot of research on designers to find someone that we thought would help make our house a home to be proud of. We spent one summer fully renovating the first floor of our home to create a more open floorplan. The house originally had separate living, dining, kitchen and family rooms, and we were really only using about half the floor. Candace opened up the space by removing a wall, moving a window and a door to completely transform our home. She included several "surprise and delight" design details and our friends and family have all given us rave reviews. Candace made our job easy by understanding what we were looking for, working with our schedule (we both work), and directing our decisions with thoughtful design ideas that far surpassed what we had expected. It was such an enjoyable project that we asked Candace to remodel our second floor the following year! This included four bedrooms and two full baths with a fairly significant upgrade to the master suite and guest bath. Once again, Candace knocked it out of the park!! The fixtures, lighting, tilework, colors, everything.....it's awesome! Candace Nordquist is a Certified Kitchen design professional. She transformed our kitchen, seating area, family room, and entry into beautiful, highly functional, and comfortable spaces. She provided the design, material selection, coordination or purchase of materials, and recommended highly capable subcontractors I used to finish the project. Our waterfront house needed to have the view maintained or enhanced, the materials and colors needed to be capable of intense direct sunlight, and the traffic flow from the kitchen to the deck supported. She reorganized the kitchen placing flat surfaces between the arriving guest and the view. The tall elements were concentrated on the back wall giving a solid welcoming feel. Her 38" high waterfall granite table provides seating to enjoy the view. There are 28 cabinet drawers for storage, and the food prep, cooking, and clean up areas are all well organized. The electrical plan was also an integral part of the overall design. The under cabinet power outlets are especially nice and have minimized wall outlets. The lighting is able to be changed to create a variety of moods as well as provide specific task lighting. It is a pleasure to cook and entertain in this kitchen.
