Case by Case Cabinets

Very happy! We had a solid wood door broken down due to a medical issue. The homeowners association was very strict about replacing the door with something that looked like the original. The door was not a standard size and had attached wood decorations. Rani was able to replicate the size and finish of the door as well as transfer the decorative wood pieces from the original. We couldn't be happier with the results! When there were other difficult issues to deal with Rani made dealing with the door replacement very easy. Fast, high quality work and a very fair price. We worked with Rani to build a large library / bookcase across a whole wall. Rani was great to work with - from the design and planning stage through the build and installation. The bookcase is 8 x 9 feet, with a mix of open shelves and closed cabinets at bottom. When Rani initially came to see the need he had great ideas of what to build and how to design, ideas we would never have thought of ourselves. The quality of the work is impeccable and the product was delivered a few days before the expected date and right on budget. Rani and team assembled and installed everything in one day - and its awesome. Looks great, works great and we couldn't have hoped for better outcome.

Erik was fantastic to work with. We was professional, friendly, on-time, and on-budget - everything you could want in a building professional. Our house was built in the 1850s so nothing is a true right angle and nothing is level. It's a very challenging build environment. In this project, the ceiling was 1.5 inches higher on one side than the other. But with Erik's precision and masterful carpentry work, the built-in bookcase seamlessly integrates into the room as if it's always been there. We included a cutout space for a couch, a light above that space, and two outlets on each set of drawers. We are so happy with how it came out. I can also say that his price is directly in line with other professionals since another professional quoted me the same fee. Don't think twice, hire Erik!

Erik built beautiful built-in cabinets and shelves for the den of my 1897 Victorian. He matched the existing trim and moulding very well and worked carefully around an oversized window. The whole process including installation went very smoothly.

Did a great job redesigning a bedroom closet to my specifications in February/March 2020, which was really to be able to store sporting equipment of all different shapes and sizes. I am thrilled with the end product as I am able to organize everything neatly (which creates more space in the bedroom). The whole process was very efficient from the time we set up the initial evaluation, to coming up with the design, to updates on the build and installation. I also appreciated the collaboration - he recommended what he thought was best but also took my aesthetic preferences into account. Would certainly hire again for another cabinet build or closet redesign.

Great to work with. Friendly, reliable and responsive. The architect‘s drawings were in centimeters and fairly complicated but Erik was flexible and capable. Because the project was not very large (a ladder, a tall closet and a chest), we had a slight delay in completion, but Erik communicated it proactively. Good references.

Erik recently completed a home office and guest room cabinetry project for us, and we are thrilled with the final result. We came to him with a conceptual design for the room, which included perimeter base cabinets, open shelving, a wardrobe, and a long open desk. He did a fantastic job interpreting our rough sketches into a detailed design, making great suggestions for improvements, and executing the final result with high craftsmanship and high fidelity to the design intent. Compared to other contractors and carpenters we've worked with, he has an excellent sense for design and aesthetics, and is very committed to integrity and quality in his craft. He was also patient with us as we tweaked some design decisions and changed our minds a few times. He even caught a mistake we made with cabinet hardware selection, and took the time to check whether the ordered part was correct rather than installing something we would not have been happy with. Scheduling and budget were rather painless, and there were no surprises or sudden changes. The project was completed a few weeks later than we had originally hoped, and was not cheap, but Erik was up front about both throughout the process so we were able to plan appropriately. We felt that the project cost was fair, and that Erik provided excellent value. We would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend Erik to anyone looking for beautiful, truly custom cabinetry with a low-stress design and installation process.
