Mike’s Landscape and Design took our forest of a backyard and turned it into the perfect outdoor living space. We absolutely love how everything turned out! Mike was attentive and listened to all of our ideas. He provided great insight on how we could create the ideal outdoor oasis. He even designed a unique space for a playground for our children. Mike worked closely with the other vendors to execute the plan. His team was personable and professional. We found Mike on the Houzz app and to now write this review here is a full circle moment. I am a first time homeowner with a row house in Richmond, VA. I wanted to do something exciting and easy to maintain with my steeply sloped mess of a front yard and barren back yard, but I wasn't really sure what I wanted. Mike was fantastic with design suggestions and put together a competitive proposal price-wise. He communicated with me constantly from start to finish, responded quickly to any concerns along the way, and ultimately completed a beautiful project that makes me smile every day. In terms of actual structure, he installed two retaining walls and stepping stones in the front yard and laid sod in the back, added edger block along one side of my walkway, and extended my paver patio. He helped me choose plants that really pop! My yard has been the talk of my neighborhood ever since the project wrapped up. People stop me constantly to say how beautiful it looks. Thanks, Mike! You are awesome!

We ordered a very large wooden pergola. Mike was excellent to work with, very knowledgeable, professional. He and his staff delivered and installed. We are extremely happy with the finished product. The quality of the pergola is excellent and the installation was perfect. We will definitely use him again for future projects. I strongly recommend.

After receiving about (5) bids to remove large tree stumps and roots from the side of my house where the old wooden retaining wall was falling apart I hired Mike. He was priced right, very personable and did what he said he would do. He was professional and prompt and as you can see he did a great job digging out the tree stumps and building a terrific looking retaining wall that will last a long time. He's a true professional and great guy to hire.

Mike was professional and easy to work with. He put in long days and finished our job on time and reasonably priced. He extended and outlined our drive, added a walk, leveled our yard, added dirt, and seeded and it turned out beautifully. I have highly recommened him to my mom and neighbors.

I had a french drain in my front yard and pavers for a sidewalk and landing installed by Mike's Landscaping and Design. From the estimate to completion, Mike was one of the most professional people i have ever worked with. He was respectful, punctual and knowledgeable. We could not be more pleased with the entire process. I would highly recommend this company if you are planning to have any landscaping done.

I would highly recommend Mike and his team! His job estimate was extremely competitive and he completed the entire job less than a month after we first met. My family now has a beautiful landscaped yard along with a patio extension and fire pit that we'll enjoy for years to come! Quality work all around and no doubt I'll be using Mike again in the future.

I highly recommend Mikes Landscape MIke, the owner, gave us a very detailed plan and worked with my budget. . He came in and conducted soil test answered alot of concerns about dealing with clay soils and we went from thereI . The work was done in a timely manner. Good to go my grass is coming along

The guys over at Shades & Wise recommended Mike. Mike had the courage to take on a project that he had never done before...a Eagle Bay Highland Stone outdoor kitchen including a sink, grill, and refrigerator with granite countertop. Mike had the integrity to tell me that this would be his first kitchen. Mike's candor and honesty convinced me I had the right guy!

Never finished the job they were paid for. Told us he was too busy with his other customers. Became very argumentative with the client. Claimed he was an expert in drainage and landscaping and could do anything. Well that proved false all the way around because water pooled in many areas. This is what happens when a contractor doesn't lay down dirt and just covers over the area with weed-block and mulch. He took the money and basically ran from his contractual agreement and ignored any and all calls to fix the problems and plant the plants he put on the side of the house.
