Chris, Todd and LeeAnne were amazing to work with throughout our home addition/remodel project. It was a major undertaking and the project was completed consistent with the expectations set by Chris and the team. Chris and his team were absolutely fantastic in completing a very large renovation of our beach property, which included remodeling 4 bathrooms, updating plumbing, installing a new pool, new landscaping, new patio, new second story deck, as well as adding a 5th bathroom, a side entrance, new sliding doors, and reconfiguring the ground floor layout/hallway. We started discussing the project in early 2022 and Chris was prompt, responsive, and communicative throughout the 15 months from planning through finalization. His team did a great job coming up with unique ideas to address challenges with the current layout of the property. Throughout the process of construction, Chris was very communicative with at least weekly updates and photos/videos as we did not reside near the project site. Additionally, when asked unexpectedly, Chris pushed the schedule forward a number of weeks to make a deadline for incoming renters. We would highly recommend Brace Builders and look forward to working with him again for phase 2!

Brace Builders recently replace all exterior wood trim on my house with PVC. They were clean and dependable. Chris went out of his way to make sure the wife and I were happy with every facet of the job. They were recommended to me by several friends and they did not disappoint. We just finished a major renovation with Chris Brace and his team. We gutted our upstairs bath and laundry, moved walls and totally reconfigured the space. There was tile flooring installed, a new tile shower built, new cabinets in the bathroom and both closets, window replacement, etc. The team moved downstairs and gutted the kitchen moving the refrigerator and range locations, installing new cabinets, counters, appliances, lighting, etc. The floors were re-done in the entire home. The only real issue we had was with the cabinet work in the bedroom closets. The sub-contractor had different idea of what was acceptable in terms of installation quality than either us or Chris and his team. To their credit, Brace Builders stepped in and corrected the installers work and then some. Although Chris made a serious effort to prep us for the intensity and sort of emotional roller coaster that would be involved in the project, it is easy to have some episodes of “Property Brothers” in your head and think things will be easier than they are. A major renovation is a lot of work for everyone involved including the family. Brace Builders has assembled a great team. Lee Anne runs the office and is amazing with assisting on design selections and keeping track of the entire process. Todd was our project manager and was without a doubt the critical person day to day. He was onsite almost daily and kept the trades on time and working at top quality. Chris is very knowledgeable and really understands what is needed to guide the team from start to finish. We would not hesitate to recommend that you talk with them if you are looking for a remodel opinion. The quality, comfort level to the point that we don’t worry if the kids are home with them working, and above all the responsiveness and follow through to get things complete will get you a great result.

We used Brace Builders to remove a gas and build a mason fireplace, remove popcorn ceiling, paint room and vaulted ceilings and stain trim. I absolutely love my fireplace and the whole new room! Every single aspect of the job was so well done. Chris always has a smile and can-do positive enthusiasm coupled with intense attention to the construction/mechanical aspects of the overall job and each specific step. Lee Ann, his assistant, was a gem. She spent countless hours combing over stone, grout, style and color choices with such patience and understanding and kindness. And provided detailed creative input as well. The work crew was great too, positive and professional. On the first day I told Chris I'm not that picky. As it turns out, I'm insanely picky! Who knew! (Probably my kids.) And with that, I say these guys are the best! If I had an open pocket book, I'd have them all working on one project after another, knowing that no matter how insane or complex, it would be done professionally, happily and soundly. Restoring an 1886 "tired lady" was labor of love for Chris Brace and his team and he meticulously cared for our house as though it was his own.! I have renovated homes across the country for the past 20 plus years and Chris Brace and his team are ABSOLUTELY the best. We have done several remodels in our time but Chris Brace and his team were by far the best we have ever worked with! From our first interactions, Chris was incredibly attentive to details. My husband and hired Chris for a substantial remodel of our beach cottage on Isle of Palms, SC. From the very first meeting, we found him to be professional, creative, knowledgeable, and experienced. Over the course of our project, he exceeded our expectations in every way. The craftsmanship was truly remarkable. His conscientiousness is beyond any we have experienced in any previous construction project. His incredible attention to detail and willingness to provide constant updates and communication ( our project was in a different state from our home) are the primary reasons why we will plan to hire him for any future project we undertake. Chris and his team were live savers fixing a chimney issue that saved additional damage to our house. They reflashed the chimney applied new siding and fixed two interior walls. Due to the high level of rain that was experienced during the storm of the century in Charelston, it was a big problem. They were very fast and they were able to match the siding around the chimney, did mold control (elimination), dry wall installation and chimney cap replacement. A year later his team was needed for a leaking shower (2nd floor). He sent in a pumbling team to replace the drain and another team to fix the ceiling and match the popcorn to where you could not tell that there was a leak. I apprciate the quick turn around both times to allow us to get back into our house quickly. Everyoneon his team is very professional and prompt.

We hired Chris to remodel our kitchen and master bath in the late Fall/Winter of 2017. Both jobs were completed simultaneously and were total tear down / remodels, while we lived in the house. Living in the home (over the holidays) was not easy but Chris & crew made it as bearable as possible. During the initial planning and throughout the entire process, Chris listened to our thoughts, and ideas, and offered design suggestions and direction whenever we needed it. He uses quality subcontractors, who do stellar work. They were all very conscientious and kind. There were a few times when we needed to reengage a subcontractor, for one reason or another, and they were always willing to accept our call and offered assistance. We did go a little over budget but that was our doing, not Chris'. We love the final project and would strongly recommend Chris to anyone interested in using his services.

We hired Brace Builder, LLC to put an extension on our breakfast nook area and to convert our porch to a four seasons room. The project added approximately 400 square feet of living space and included pouring a new concrete slab to support the additional space. From the start Chris Brace and his team proved to be trustworthy, professional and innovative. From the proposal, the contracting, the permitting process, the material selection, to the construction of the space, the team was attentive to detail, professional, and truly committed to building a quality addition to our home. Chris has a great vision on how to add space to a house and ensure that it fits with the look and decor. Chris provided us with some innovative ideas, such as a shiplap ceiling and interior architectural windows to separate the eating area from the 4 season room. The interior windows provide plenty of light to the eating area and are beautifully constructed with antiqued bronze metal. The shiplap ceiling adds an additional architectural element to a space with an 18ft ceiling. All our visitors have immediately commented on the ceiling and windows. Additionally Chris is an excellent communicator and on a continual basis kept us up-to-date on the project, delivery of material, or specialized work being completed by sub-contractors. Chris holds all his workers and sub-contractors to a very high standard and was quick to demand minor changes or corrections if something wasn't up to his standard. If you are planning on doing any type of home renovation I would highly recommend Chris Brace and Brace Builders, LLC. They are outstanding to work with and won’t consider your project just another job, they take pride in their work and it shows.

Chris was responded VERY quickly when I inquired about having my windows boarded up for Hurricane Irma. I got a response within minutes, he told me within the hour when he would be able to work on our house and sent pictures as the work was being done as we were out of town. He was VERY thorough and kept me up to date at all times as far as what he and his men were doing, and he charged a VERY fair price. He is VERY professional and very accommodating. When he picked up sandbags but couldn't get enough because Lowe's ran out, he went back the next day and got the rest that were needed. We have ZERO complaints but ONLY accolades for Chris and Brace Builders. Thank you Chris for your hard work and for your great work!

Brace Builders LLC went above & beyond my expectations. I have small children and dogs and they worked to ensure I had a safe environment for them. They cleaned up at the end of the day after themselves. They came up with creative ideas for things I was not sure about and listened to my wants and needs. They paid close attention to detail. In any renovation project there can be delays and frustrations, particularly if you are living in the house- but all the workmen were very friendly and fast with their work. Great Experience. Chris came out and prepared a detailed estimate. His crew was very efficient. When they discovered a problem, not in the estimate, Chris called to explain the problem and describe the additional work that would be necessary. When the outside work was done the whole area was cleaned up and the waste materials were removed. There was some work to be done inside the house. Chris set up an appointment convenient to me to send over someone to do the work. The work exceeded my expectations. I would recommend his work to anyone looking for an excellent builder.

I very highly recommend Brace Builders. My " kitchen project " (which included removing walls, redoing hardwood floors, and remodeling the center of my home while we lived there) was finished on time and within budget. Chris Brace carefully oversaw the entire project to its end, and followed up with us after it was complete. Chris was kind, respectful and compulsive - a must when working with my engineering husband. The project was challenging from a structural point of view, but the end result was just as I had hoped and envisioned. This was the first time that my wife and I had gone through a major renovation (full kitchen and two bathrooms) and I have to say that the service we received from day one was nothing but top notch! Chris did a great job explaining what needed to be done and set clear expectations which made it much easier to go through the process. Brace Builders did a renovation on our 1920's home. They opened an enclosed stairway, created an entire new bathroom and laundry room, and remodeled an existing bathroom. They also created an outdoor deck, a great brick grill and work station, a smaller secondary deck and had a beautiful iron gate which they designed,created and had installed. There was also a great deal of foundation work completed as well. Employees were timely and respectful of our space as we were living in the home through the renovation. The completed work is second to none. The estimate matched the final, actual bill with only minor variations mostly due to our change of mind or plan. And, Chris was creative and offered great insights as to how best to re-purpose existing material and wasted little in the way of our finances and materials. He was very patient as he explained processes and procedures and was always very up front about the pros and cons of the work we were wanting to have done. And, when the work we were proposing had pitfalls, he was quick to offer creative solutions or options. The employees worked well together, took short breaks and resumed work in a timely manner. They also were very diligent during the work day, remaining on task and working even when not directly supervised. It must also be said that Brace Builders has a high competence level for keeping the work space clean and clear, even to the point of cleaning and sweeping at the conclusion of each work day. All in all, Brace Builders is a company of extreme integrity, honesty, dependability and reliability. I would highly recommend them for other potential clients.

New kitchen island and bathroom remodel. Promt, on budget and great outcome. Love our new look. We recommend and will hire for future jobs.

Chris cut out and repaired some paneling on our porch ceiling that had water damage. He made sure the water leak had stopped before repairing. He came out to study the problem and wrote up an estimate for us prior to this. He shows up on time and does an excellent job down to cleaning up better than it looked when he got here. He goes the extra mile and does detailed work. He is a very nice man and you will feel comfortable with him in your home. I will hire him again.

Brace Builders replaced the flooring in my den, breakfast room, and kitchen with prefinished hardwood. After removing the old flooring, damage was discovered. This was fixed before the new floors were put down. I feel that they gave me sound advice and completed the job in a timely way.

Project was whole house interior update on a 1986 built beach house. New floors, cabinets, grabite counter tops, bathroom fixtures New paint on all walls and new smooth ceilings Also enclosed a screened porch with windows and bead board walls for better use as a dssunroom. Also many other small details to many to list. Chris Brace is a class person who does his best to deliver a really good product.

Brace Builders has been exceptionally helpful and timely. BB has a consultative approach and listens to your ideas. We found that they took our ideas and helped turn them into a plan. They were also helpful with ideas and suggestions to keep within our budget.

Work was a curved stairwell renovation. Included interior wall demolition, window framing, sheetrocking and finishing curved wall and ceiling around spiral staircase. Design and installation of wrought iron hand rail to match existing handrails. Wall sconce instillation. Interior paint. Work was completed according to the schedule and on budget. Workmen were courteous and on time and never intrusive. One of the great attributes of Brace Builders was their clean-up policy. Everyday the stairwell was cleaned and at the end of the project, an entire day was dedicated to cleaning. Strongly recommend Brace Builders for those large projects that require a professional contractor as well as the smaller jobs you just want to see done correctly. I will continue to use Brace Builders for all repairs and modifications to my home. I have complete confidence in their work.

Chris Brace is our preferred builder of choice. His work is near perfection and he goes above and beyond to meet our expectations. Chris has completed four individual projects for us in the last two years. Due to a water leak he replaced and upgraded our living room ceiling adding a coffer design. His company even vacuums as they work. Now, who does that? The most recent project required removing door to a sunroom and making it a 12' opening flanked with custom pillars. He extended the coffer ceiling, too!
