cannot say enough how impressed I was with David. He spent alot of time with me , both regarding the project but also taking time to comfort and pray wiith me over personal issues. He was VERY helpful. Unfortunately, I did not use his services.

DSI (David Spence) handled a bathroom renovation for us. It involved removing a closet, adding a sink, and redoing all the flooring, fixtures cabinetry, etc. It turned out exactly as we envisioned it, and on schedule. We would hope to have him do any such work we may need in the future, and in fact he did take care of a problem we had on a second floor balcony recently. If he says he can do the job, we trust him completely; based on our experience we can recommend DSI without reservation.

My dad's house had 2 walls with severe termite damage (about 30 linear feet). David arrived promptly to take a look and give an estimate that included permits, framing materials, dry wall, paint and a window. Because the walls included electrical outlets, an electrician's services were also included. There was a small hitch in the starting of the project when the county required a drawing of the project even though no changes to the footprint were being made (this was no fault of David Spence, Inc but speaks to his ability to make adjustments as necessary and keep the owner informed). I have already recommended this company to other folks and will continue to do so.

We live in an older home in Tampa in what is informally called "the Cleveland Basin". As the name implies, floodwaters gather in our neighborhood from surrounding neighborhoods because we are so low. We have flooded three times in 20 years and have hired contractors following each flood to "fix" the problem. In August 2015 we endured torrential rains on our property that was already swamped by previous rains. Our street was a river and floodwater came within a quarter of an inch of breaching our front and back door. Although we did not take direct flooding, we still had water coming in from the sides and back of the house and under the floor where erosion or poor contracting had left exposed areas. As any contractor will tell you, water is very thin. It finds a way to get in presented the opportunity. I had read about Hydro Stop and Mr Spence and after the August 2015 storms I got to see DSI applying Hydro Stop treatment to a neighbors house. I watched the process every day and at the end I discussed the project with my neighbor. They could not have been more effusive in their praise for the quality of the work, the courteousness of DSI workers, and the efficacy of the Hydro Stop fix. I met with David Spence (who was right on time for the appointment) in early January 2016. He immediately identified the worst areas and explained the Hydro Stop process to me. A trench would be dug around the house, down to the footer. Exposed areas would be sanded and cleaned then the application of Hydro Stop would begin. The Hydro Stop is applied in three steps, slurry, then membrane, then slurry again. It is applied to the house from the footer to whatever your desired level above ground level (in our case eight inches). It is paintable after drying. I hired DSI Contractors based on my interview with Mr Spence and the work done on my neighbors house. Within two weeks the DSI crew was digging the trench around my house. This is backbreaking work, especially in an older area like ours with lots of tree roots and other surprises to eliminate. The DSI crew was timely, extremely polite, did NOT block my driveway our disrupt our hectic lifestyle in any way, cleaned up daily, and more importantly - they were here every day. No calling to find out when they were coming back. Mr. Spence inspected the crews work constantly and he came up with additional suggestions that we incorporated into our fix. The most impressive event of this whole process was the day after the trench had been dug and the house was exposed we had a torrential rain. Even though the crew had wrapped the area the night before, they showed up in lightning, thunder and heavy heavy rain and dug canals away from the house to alleviate any potential for further house flooding. The Hydro Stop process was finished in about a week and a half. I am so pleased to report that after our most recent 2016 Tropical Storm (where again our neighborhood and street flooded) we had absolutely no water in our house or under the floor (you can tell by tile marks and cupping floor boards). I would, and will, hire DSI Contractors again in a second. They get my highest praise and I would recommend the Hydro Stop process to anyone living in South Tampa with water issues. It works. The DSI crew that worked on our house was top notch (respectful of the property, efficient and extremely courteous) and Mr Spence is a man who lives his faith every day through his work.

I engaged David's services for a kitchen remodel. Actually a main floor remodel as I wanted open concept which required taking down walls. I could write a book about how wonderful the experience was, but one things stands out to me about the process. And that is that David was ALWAYS available to answer any of my many questions (not having been through a remodel before), and although he lives quite a distance from my home, made it a point to visit throughout the process. The results are stunning. The compliments I have received from everyone that walks into my house cause me to be so proud. In short, I would highly recommend DSI and will absolutely engage David's firm once again should I pursue another remodel. Watch out David - I have two bathrooms that need some updating!!!

I have used David Spence, Inc. on several occasions since I moved to Tampa in 2011. I own three properties and have used him at all three locations for a variety different projects, from a complete kitchen/bathroom remodel, to drainage ditches to prevent flooding. David is always a pleasure to deal with and goes out of his way to save the clients money. Every project I've hired him for he points out ways to save money and get more value out what I do spend. He doesn't hesitate to offer less expensive alternatives. I have never had any cost overruns or any unexpected costs pop up during a project. Dave's work crews are always on time, polite, professional, and work hard....his office staff are pleasant and very helpful. In short, Dave is great to work with, and I would not hesitate to use him in the future.

I hired David to replace two glass sliding doors leading to the lanai. David and his crew did an excellent job of removing the old doors and installing the ones. He also did a nice job of adding trim around the doors on the outside since the new doors are much heavier than the old builder grade. The new glass doors are a great an improvement both aesthetically and functionally. Nice job David. Thank you.

This is the second time I have has David Spence, he and his staff have outstanding knowledge of what has to be done, they show complete professionalism at all times. they do outstanding quality work. All work was completed on schedule and on budget. Their attention to detail is second to none and they clean up the work site better than I do

Company did great work and responded timely. The office staff polite, professional, and followed up. We will definitely use DSI again when needed. We highly recommend DSI!

Had to argue with company about their bid after they had already taken a deposit. Took twice as long as they said it would take. I would stay away from this company.

I am a Realtor with Sunshine Real Estate of Tampa Bay and I called David Spence Inc. out to help with some electrical issues on a house I had listed. Matt Murphy came out and went over my home inspection and took care of all the issues in a very fast and professional manner. We were able to take care of the problem and get the home closed on time.
