Dawn Porter at Ethan Allen put me at ease immediately. I went in to buy a couch and ended up redecorating completely three rooms and updating the rest of the house. She was a pleasure to work with and listened to me about the things I liked and didn’t like. I love my house the fabrics, pictures and furniture make me feel happy.

Dawn is our designer at Ethan Allen in Alpharetta. We moved into a new house and were changing from a traditional style to a more transitional style. In the past I have been disappointed with store designers, so I was a bit cautious when first meeting with Dawn. She put me at ease right away. I absolutely love the furniture, fabrics, window treatments and lighting that Dawn designed for us. I am thankful that she took the time to get to know us and guided us on selections that that were perfect for our home. She was our advocate throughout the process!

Amidst the construction chaos, Dawn kneeled on the concrete floor to measure out space for furnishing a new living room and sunroom. As the house came out of the ground, Dawn was busy with incorporating what we already had with new pieces that would fit perfectly in our home. Her attention to detail, sensitivity to our tastes, and professionalism impressed us immensely. Be sure to pay attention to her wide variety of high heeled shoes!

Dawn provided professional, knowledgable, warm and friendly personal service to us throughout our experience with her. We had decided to purchase a new sofa from Ethan Allen in early 2014, and Dawn helped us with our choice and was there throughout the delivery process. Then later, when we wanted to redecorate our family room, we requested her assistance and were delighted with the results. Dawn has the ability to listen carefully and respect our opinions and desires, and meet them with her professional skills, knowledge and regard for our taste and needs. She made helpful suggestions, while being aware of our budgetary contraints. We would be happy to use her again, and would refer her confidently to our friends!

My husband and I, in our 70s, were moving into a new home in a retirement community and wanted our living room furnished to fit the space and to look upbeat. Previously, our furnishings were traditional. We thought we wanted a different look but were hesitant. Dawn walked with us through the showrooms, asking us to point out things we really liked. Then, based on our floor plan, she gave us several options for room layouts and furnishings. We had confidence in her expertise, which gave us confidence to select stunning modern furnishings that we love. We purchased a sofa, several chairs, tables, lamps, area rug, decorator items, and window treatments. Our adult children were wowed by the room. We worked with Dawn from the ground up to design and furnish the living room, family room, dining room, large landing/”art gallery” space and spare bedroom of our new home. She was able to quickly understand and bring our tastes and design aesthetics to life. As a true professional, Dawn is very knowledgeable in the field of design, enthusiastic about her work and most importantly, fun and easy to work with! When we struggled with color, pattern and proportion (areas where we needed the most professional help) Dawn quickly eliminated all of the guesswork. We also appreciated her candor when it came to potentially making poor design choices, even if it meant resulting in a sales loss to her. Her mantra “less is more” held true and as a result of working with Dawn our home has cohesiveness and long-lasting appeal that we will enjoy for many years to come.

Dawn Porter was our designer at Ethan Allen in Alpharetta, GA. She helped us select furniture, rugs, lighting, fabrics, colors, and accessories to create beautiful rooms that we love to live in. She was punctual and efficient for meetings to come to our home, take measurements and pictures, and plan furniture layouts. She took the time to get to know our needs and style. Her creativity in custom drapery and pillow designs as well as her arrangement of furniture and accessories is what "makes" the rooms. She allowed us to choose things we love, but did not hesitate to let us know what would not work into the plan that she envisioned. Dawn's creativity, energy, and skills made designing a room a fun, exciting project. An example of her creativity is the color she chose for us to paint the wall behind the shelves in our great room. I never would have done it without her suggestion, but I loved it when it was done. We would not hesitate to use her design expertise for any future needs.
