Don Kelly Construction

I used Don Kelly construction to remodel a screened-in patio and turn it into a family room. Without going into too much detail, the process was constantly a battle... and every step of the way, Don was all about shifting the responsibility to me by getting my approvals on things that he was ultimately responsible for. I recognized this early on and would not allow him to continue “shifting the burden” when he asked for my mini-approvals at each stage, in essence, covering his ass if the final product didn’t look right. At the end of the project, he came to my house at 6:45am and let himself in, woke up my wife in bed (he knew I had left the day before) and asked her to pay the balance of what I owed (which I had just paid the day before). My wife called me and handed the phone to Don and I told him in not very nice tone to “get the hell out of my house”. He was literally tryin to trick my wife into writing him a check for $13,000 for an unpaid invoice, which he KNEW was paid in full. He has been asked repeatedly to come back to my home to finish the work he started, specifically with the AC split unit his team installed. He now no longer returns phone calls or texts and I have incurred over $700 in expenses to hire a real HVAC pro to repair the damage he caused to my split unit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO DO QUALITY WORK AT A REASONABLE PRICE.

I hired Don Kelly to remodel a master bedroom and bathroom. Don was above and beyond any contractor I’d hired in the past. He is both trustworthy and ethical, qualities that were important to me after having had a horrible experience with another contractor. Don was on the job daily checking on completed work. Daily communication about schedules and materials kept me informed every step of the way. His crew were extremely hard-working, friendly and courteous, respectful and punctual. There was never a day of down time. The job was completed ahead of schedule. I will definitely hire Don again for future projects!
