FabCab

Process has not been seamless. Parts arrived in wrong dimensions and at large delays (multiple months). Cost was 35% higher than quoted. No accountability and left with slow to no responses. We originally chose to work with FabCab due to the cool designs and communicated ease. Going through the process, I would not recommend to work with FabCab.

Great design, sturdy, energy efficient, high quality material. Staff is friendly and professional, very knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with. Having built/renovated several homes in the past, this was by far the easiest.

My husband and I love the home that FabCab designed for us. FabCab's design philosophy aligned so well with our priorities for our home - a modern cabin where we can age in place. We were able to modify and customize one of FabCab's existing cabin floor plans so it was exactly how we wanted it, while keeping the design costs low. We've been in the house for about 8 months and there's nothing we would change!

I was hired to photograph a cabin they designed, here in NH,. The job was fun as the cabin was very well done and interesting to shoot. The whole experience, from first encounter to the payment of my invoice was just how you want it.

As the General Contractor who has built four of FabCab's homes, it has been my pleasure to work with such a professional company. The finish product starts with FabCab's architectural vision- the beauty of the homes speaks for itself. From a builders perspective, FabCab's attention to detail in the blueprints, sourcing of materials, and selection of finishes, results in a home I am proud to say I built. From design concept with the architects, through interior design with the designers, to the construction phase with their project managers, you will be supported through every phase of your home building journey.

We needed a home that had the features a wheelchair owner needs and is respectful of the beauty, peacefulness and function. We chose a TimberCab home and while none of the drawing actually fit, Don Argus, Architect, worked with us and he it made it exactly what we wanted. He added a shed and portico to the front of the house which are stunning in design and the manner it fit the whole home --- and the extra storage is perfect! We had a team from FabCab. Don was the main focus for the plan, Tracy the Interior Architect who was excellent as the guide to colors and fixtures, and Bruce the Business Manager who helped David and I with everything! We hired Jim Hall, General Contractor, who brought together the team of builders to build our home. We are in our house now. The living room has the high Douglas Fir beams holding the windows looking out to the beauty and peaceful we wanted. FabCab made our dream into our reality.

Emory Baldwin and his FABCAB team were fabulous to work with, and the end-result (at least from our perspective) is stunning! We had site challenges because we were required to build on the exact same footprint as the original cabin that we replaced. Emory and his team had to redraw and reconfigure the floor plan several times but his sense of design and commitment never waivered. He was very easy to work with, and had a great relationship with our contractor. Together, they built a beautiful, unique and energy efficient "modern beach house" that was exactly what we wanted!

Our close friend who is an Architect brought FabCab to our attention a few years ago as my husband and I were stalled regarding an affordable home with the aesthetics to compliment the beautiful, wood and rugged 9+ acre parcel we had purchased on an island in the Pacific Northwest. The modern aesthetics and timber frame design really resonated with us and we were pleasantly surprised that the price tag was within reach. We contacted FabCab and walked away feeling as though we may have a shot at making this happen. We continued to get excited about the prospect and took a site visit to another FabCab that was being built a few hours north of us. This visit and the impressiveness of the design and construction convinced us to proceed. We opted for a custom design from them and the contractor that we hired to build the house worked seamlessly with FabCab as did the additional Architect friend that we brought on board to help us with the layout of the interior spaces. The end result is a stunning home nestled in the woods that is very much exceeding our expectations. No regrets at all only thankful that they were brought to our attention and made this dream of ours come to fruition. We would do it again in a heartbeat. We may actually. In a few years, a smaller FabCab for guest may be in order!

In 2012 our client fell in love with a FabCab model for their Lake Pend Oreille property. We had never worked with the firm before and although geographically distant, we found them to be very open, helpful and accommodating to our client's desires and our challenging build site. From the first meeting to post completion everyone at FabCab was quick to respond to questions and help when necessary to keep the project running smoothly. Our clients love their FabCab and we truly enjoyed the project.

The team at FabCab consists of a group of young and very talented professionals who all work to design and deliver a beautiful, green, timberframe home. The results are stunning! FabCab worked with us from start to finish, offering custom floorplan design expertise, interior design consultation, and even recommendations for the Contractor, Jim Hall, that we ended up choosing. The "package" we purchased made decisions so much easier than other traditional construction, where the universe of choices can be paralyzing. Along the way we were given suggestions about appliances, carpet, flooring, etc. that were compatible with the style we had chosen. Although we were free to choose totally different interior components, we stayed mostly within the recommendations because they were great options, and because it helped us keep within our budget. We ended up with a 1440 sq. ft. home that seems larger than our previous 2100 sq. ft. home, and we are thrilled with the finished product.
