Fine Construction Services helped us to restore the living area in my 1911 apartment to its original footprint. As our project nears completion, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. We have worked with a number of contractors over the years, and most of the time have been happy with the way things turned out. Ciaran and his company, however, are exceptional. Despite being extremely busy, Ciaran really cares about the quality of his company’s work. He is personally honest and charming, and sets an example for his men. His crew is made up of men who have worked with him for a long time, nice guys that you don’t mind having in your home. Seldom have we seen a crew work so hard all the while maintaining such a cheerful disposition. Ciaran also helped us to navigate the management company approval process and got on famously with our building manager. He is concerned with environmental issues and runs a clean construction site. He vented the dust out of the building using a fan, and securely covered everything in plastic and other protective materials. This was especially important to us as we opted to live in our apartment while the job was in progress. During the demolition process the protective materials gave the affected area almost a spaceship-like quality, isolating the room from the other areas of the apartment where we were living. Special care was taken to protect bookshelves and other areas that might have otherwise gathered dust. In addition, he was flexible about items that could have been construed as “scope creep.” When we uncovered the original doorway to the room, I changed the plan in midstream to rebuild the wall to preserve that doorway, and despite having many other challenging jobs to do, he couldn’t have been nicer about it. Stated simply, this is a company that promotes a feeling of trust that things will get done and done well. I feel very fortunate to have worked with Fine Construction.

Ciaran helped me with remodeling my elderly Aunt's apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan so I could put it on the market for sale. He did an incredible job in dealing with the co-op management, getting the job done on a tight budget, dealing with our time constraints and along with all that he was very sensitive to protecting and enhancing the original features of this pre-war apartment. I could not recommend Ciaran highly enough!

The 1 bedroom I bought in 2012 hadn't been touched in 30 years and needed a lot renovation but I was new to construction in NYC and was feeling really anxious about what to do and how to do it. When Ciaran suggested a gut renovation, I wasn't sure but he walked me through the entire process with the building department and brought in fantastic subcontractors, including floor, plumbers, painters, and tile work that made it so much easier than I thought it would be. Ciaran really listened to what I wanted and came up with great, innovative ideas I never could have thought of including how to get the most space out of each room, and lots of individual touches that have made my apartment feel spacious and so unique to me. He did an amazing job creating a home office out of an oversized closet that I never would have believed was possible. His enthusiasm for the creative process is infectious and very inspirational and his attention to detail made sure everything was done properly and professionally. Ciaran is friendly and approachable and promptly returned all phone calls, not something all contractors do. And his Irish brogue isn't hard to listen to either :) Highly recommend him for any project, large or small.

Fine Construction (Ciaran Strong ) provided solid, professional suggestions for resolving a wide range of open construction issues left undone by another contractor, and also put me in touch with several excellent reasonably priced subcontractors. He is expert in NYC code requirements, will help with design and budgeting issues, and will be up front about his firm's availability. It was a pleasure having him consult on my job.
