We are a group of Designers and Builders sharing the passion of transforming homes to unique places for our clients. We are a Design and Build firm that provides services for the Greater Hudson Valley area, Berkshires and New York City. We work with residential clients as well as small businesses. Two years in a row, 2016 and 2017 we have won multiple awards from CRBRA an NAHB affiliate, for Best Kitchen Remodel over 75K (twice), Best Historic Renovation, Best Bathroom Design, Best Basement Remodel and Best Amenity Space. We are proud to say that passion, dedication and hard work pays off, and most of all a very grateful thank you to our clients, whom we hold very dearly. Together, founders Madeleine Dymling and Joseph McAvoy have over 40 years of experience in the Design and Construction Field. They bring a unique approach to your project, providing the client with the ultimate benefits of their design sensibility, innovative construction methods, and a strong environmental commitment. They understand the challenges of renovation, adaptive reuse and new construction and address their projects with intelligence, resourcefulness and sensitivity. Flatbrook & Co is an insured and bonded firm. They hold all necessary licenses for construction and are LEED AP certified for "Green" building.

I have started and deleted this review multiple times because I didn't know how to properly get across how happy we are with our bathroom renovation and our time working with Flatbrook. From day one when we met them to the day we walked into the finished room it was an incredible process. Not only were we new homeowners but we had a couple of last minute changes that we made and a slight global pandemic that shut down work for a few months. A crazy set of circumstances but they never missed a beat in making sure we were moving forward and helping us make each decision in hopes of not just getting work done for the sake of it but making sure we chose elements that would stand the test of time. I wish there were more stars to give Joseph & Madeleine and their team because we cannot possibly recommend them enough for your next project.

Madeline and Joseph were a delight to work with from initial consultation to finish. Madeline was able to completely redesign our old country kitchen and bring it into the 21st century. Joseph's build team added tweaks along the way. Having a husband/wife team made the design/build go very smoothly. We are thrilled with the results.

Flatbrook & Co designed and built our screened in porch with a masonry fire place as well as a custom designed shed. Flatbrook & Co also designed our back yard including a pool, spa and fire pit area. They designed and built a covered outdoor kitchen with a custom poured concrete counter top, large pergola over the spa and a smaller pergola by the fire pit. They also designed custom metal privacy panels in the pergola and kitchen areas. Their work is amazing and we were overly satisfied with the outcome. We were pleased with the entire experience from start to finish. They handled any bumps in the road with professionalism. They are immediate problem solvers which put our minds at ease.

Thanks to Flatbrook, I LOVE my kitchen again. They transformed a small, uninteresting space into an modern, beautiful and ergonomically designed space that has become the central focus of the house. They were respectful of my time line and my budget and I highly recommend them.
