Lake Effect Interiors

We used Lake Effect Interiors and France Lefebvre for design work at our condominium in Kelowna BC. France did a wonderful job. She provided creative ideas, found the various trades required to complete the work, and followed up as the work progressed. We would highly recommend Lake Effect Interiors. Professionalism, creativity and follow-through are just a few of the attributes. We are thrilled with the outcome!

I had the pleasure of redoing our living room with France from Lake Effects Interiors. What an amazing journey the two of us went on (from my perspective anyways). France not only is 100% professional but so concerned that she delivered to my expectations and dreams that she went up and beyond to ensure that I acquired exactly what I wanted. That was not an easy feat, as what I thought I wanted grew into something more beautiful than what I imagined. Full credit goes to France and her suggestions. She listens to what I said and was able to extract what I meant. I now have the pleasure of enjoying every treasure that we purchased. France has the knowledge and the resources to acquire the right pieces. She was happy to have me research and share my findings. Always taking the time to offer more suggestions to ensure that I made an informed choice. I was always kept informed of shipments and all issues that may have come up during the makeover. For instance; two lamps arrived broken from the States and she dealt directly with the supplier and had a replacement delivered quickly with no issues. She has developed relationships with trades in the area that she has worked with. So, she can provide the right person for the job at hand. Beyond that she is a lovely person that cares for all the people and things that are in her life. Getting to know her and having the pleasure of having her as a new friend is a great joy in my life. I would strongly recommend that you don’t hesitate and hire her. You won’t be disappointed.

We recently moved into a new house and needed guidance to help us furnish and decorate the whole house. We have never used a designer before and we were worried about the cost of such a large project. We selected France based on her portfolio but also because she really understood our needs. The entire effort has been collaborative and she really listened to us and helped us find functional but stylish items that meets the needs of our family with young kids, while keeping us within budget in all selections. She has helped us prioritize investment pieces while finding great value pieces for other items without compromising on quality. She has been able to find us items that we didn't know we needed or wanted and that fill our space perfectly. We have enjoyed working with France thus far and look forward to finishing our space!

France worked with us to decorate our formal living room which is in the center of our open concept floor plan. This was our first time working with a designer and wanted someone to create a “wow” impact and France delivered! We wanted a designer to help push us outside our comfort zone and bring a modern and fresh look to our traditional home. France is a very thoughtful designer, a great listener and extremely efficient – from custom rugs, draperies, upholstery, pillows and furniture the project was finished in less than two months. The end result is stunning and we could not be happier with our new chic living room. We highly recommend France and would use her again for other decorating needs.

How many times have you looked at your home and asked where do I even begin? Three years ago, we purchased a vacation home in San Diego and had no idea how to approach the space. France Lefebvre of Renaissance Interior Designer of Chicago was able to transform my barren 2,100 square foot house into a sophisticated beach oasis. Although I was living in Chicago, France made selecting everything from floor plans to furniture a no brainer. France went above and beyond in implementing my vision for a relaxed, yet refined interior while also broadening my esthetic palate. Her ability to hone in on the coastal San Diego ambiance was spot on. Not to mention, France’s business style is extremely professional and detailed oriented, exactly the skillset you should be looking for when tackling a project of this magnitude. In addition, France was very cognizant of my budget concerns. Now, every time we walk into our San Diego retreat, it feels like home and we are so proud to have friends and family soak in the beauty of the unique interior that France has created. I recently completed redecorating my family room with France and I couldn't be happier with the results! France started by asking me how we use our family room, what pieces I would really like to keep and if I had a color theme in mind. What I knew was that our couch of 20+ years had to go as well as a couple of other chairs but I was open to her suggestions and it was just really important to me that it flowed with the rest of our home, that the furniture was comfortable and that I stayed as close to my budget as possible. We have a very private backyard which is beautiful in the three best seasons in the Chicago area and removing sheers on our french doors from the family room to outside and putting very creative valances that contained simple ferns on them helped bring the inside in! She worked with the existing rug I had and the room was beautifully transformed to a "wonderful oasis of calm and serenity" keeping the fabrics on the new couches neutral with pops of color from the pillows she designed for it, recovering three other chairs I kept, painting the entire room and adding a couple of new and interesting lamps and pictures. As we were finishing the room, she asked me if I would be open to replacing my window treatment in our adjoining living room with something that would be more simple and look better to which I wholeheartedly agreed and the simple change there really made both rooms flow together effortlessly. In addition to France's talent for decorating, she is also a perfectionist ensuring that details are taken care. She returned to my home after everything had been completed, because the skirts on the new couches had not "hung out" and were slightly wrinkled. She brought her steamer over and steamed the skirts for me as it is very important to her that her clients are happy and that anything she associates her name with is done to perfection!

France was a pleasure to work with. She was always prompt, professional and accommodating. We used her help in decorating our master bedroom. She picked fabrics that were a bit outside my traditional comfort zone, but I love the completed look. I am in my early 30's, but my tastes can sometimes appear to be older. France gave my bedroom a fresher and younger feel while still keeping it traditional. She took into account my budget and my need to use pieces I already had. Overall, I am very happy with her work and would use her again.
