Giachery

I have had the pleasure to work with Giachery Lizarraga for the last four years on three different projects. In this time he and I have worked together in a variety contexts; as developer, builder, client, and design collaborator. Each has been a rewarding experience as he wears these various hats with great ease, confidence and passion. Giachery is very dedicated to his projects and his team. At his core, he is a design enthusiast and loves the process as much as the outcome. As a modern architect I am often challenging contractors to work on details they are not accustomed to. Giachery revels in this challenge, from the largest issues of mobilizing challenging sites to the execution of specific details. He brings his passion for design to each issue and each project. His skill base extends from land acquisition and financing to executing millwork and choosing furnishings. He has worked on a range of projects, from commercial, urban infill to custom traditional and modern homes. His wellspring of experience is large and expanding with each project. The common thread stitching all of them together is his goal to make the best home possible from each site, scope and budget. What his clients don’t see are the endless hours he puts into his work and communication ’off hours’ trying to figure out how to achieve something very special and unique with what is typically a limited budget. I will often receive a text on Friday or Saturday evening when ‘G’ is working out an issue he has been thinking about. He will propose multiple alternatives, triple check that he understands the intent of something or to simply share his excitement about a project. His emails are always filled with terrific enthusiasm for whatever we are discussing at the time. I am often surprised how much he is thinking about a project, even on Saturday evenings. He obsesses over a range of issues from feasibility to flooring and this is something I welcome and enjoy about Giachery. He loves his work. Further, he sticks with his clients and is dedicated to the structures he builds long after they are completed. As items need to be addressed once owners take possession of their homes, Giachery remains their advocate. He sees building and construction for what it is; a fluid process of communication and change, one that requires vigilance and continual attention. He strives to communicate clearly with his subcontractors, clients and collaborators. His system for budgeting and estimating has developed over time to where he treats every project as a professional, commercial endeavor. His partner, site supervisors and staff work together tirelessly and with equal energy to make the best projects possible. His passion for design, combined with his support and dedication to his clients, collaborators and projects will propel him to great things in Nashville and beyond as he keeps turning out successful projects. Giachery and his team built our custom, modern-design home in Nashville and are currently building our psychiatric practice office on famed Music Row. Both buildings are truly standouts in the community. Often I have seen people stop and take pictures of our home! I've even had people drop notes in my mailbox asking for information on the design and development team. This alone should speak for itself; however, I feel I must speak further of the specifics of which make working with Giachery truly exceptional. The whole process from the beginning has been seamless and quite honestly, NOT AT ALL STRESS INDUCING as one might expect when undergoing a process/project of such magnitude. It is clear G and his team look to protect our best interest in every encounter and at every stage of the building process. We can trust all technical, mechanical, environmental, community and codes considerations are met in a way that satisfies everyone's needs and in a timely fashion. Further, the communication between all parties is well-managed. Much of the work on Music Row has been done behind the scenes and they bring us in when needed. Of course, if we wanted to be involved in the day to day minutia this would be welcomed by the team. However, we have found leaving the details of the day-to-day workings of the project best left to the professionals. And professional in every manner are they! Giachery's team is timely, productive and adept at every level of the job. Both my husband and I are treated with great respect and any question or idea is welcomed and considered. Additionally, they have found creative ways to ensure the budget is met. My husband who is quite adept in all manners financial would highly endorse the team's financial acumen. The process of working with Giachery and his team has been a complete dichotomy from past construction experiences in all ways positive. They come highly, highly recommended!

Giachery really got our dream of having a contemporary, thoughtfully designed space in a traditional housing market. His help ensuring that the house's architecture style extended to even the smallest interior and construction details went above and beyond what most builders take the time to invest in a home.
