Michael recently did a wonderful job in remodeling the entry stairwell and balcony overlooking the living room in our home. He is a skilled finish carpenter who pays a lot of attention to the details. He also brought in very competent people to do hardwood flooring, drywall and painting work. Michael literally saved the day when my flooring installation project being facilitated by Home Depot uncovered that the stairs in my split level home needed to be rebuilt. The project was halted and Michael came within the hour that I called to assess what needed to be done. He gave me a free quote and was able to reschedule a project the next week so that work could start almost immediately. He rebuilt the stairs in my 1979 home and then when the flooring people came back to install Cap a Tread flooring on top of the stairs and said it would be impossible to do and refused to finish the project, again Michael agreed to come back and take care of everything. The stairs and landings look beautiful and the project is finally complete because of Michael :) His work and attention to detail are amazing. He is also a kind and considerate man. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a stair contractor.

Michael helped us with crafting and installation of railings for staircases in our 1909 home. Because of the older construction our home's stairs made it very difficult getting furniture to the 2nd floor and so we wanted a railing that could be easily removed. Furthermore, the natural place the railing would intersect with the walls required a tricky corner turn. Michael was able to craft a sturdy, attractive, custom railing that exceeded our expectations. Michael gave the most thought to what he would do of the contractors who looked at the job. Michael's communication was excellent, and the construction itself only took a day. We were very impressed with the outcome, and we recommend Michael highly for any woodworking needs you may have.

Michael truly is the best out there! He deserves 10 stars! This was our first large project on our home and Michael helped us with the design and made our dream staircase a reality. INCREDIBLE craftsmanship and Michael's attention to detail was truly impressive. We have worked with a lot of contractors in the past and Michael is really one of a kind. Michael is genuine, trustworthy, punctual, and overall VERY talented. One thing that sets Michael aside from anyone else is his heart. My husband and I are not handy people and Michael went above and beyond for us. He helped with the imperfections around the house with damaged doors and paint touch-ups. When the carpet folks did some damage the week after Michael was finished with the staircase, he came back the next day to fix and touch up the damage. I can't say enough amazing things about this man. We will be hiring him again very soon to help with another project!

Michael is fantastic, and has helped me with two projects. The first was constructing a pantry under the stairs in my home, which turned out phenomenally! The second was building a cat climbing wall with several different shelves/stairs i ordered. There was an issue with this, in that the screws/anchors sent with some of the shelves were not the correct ones. This caused an issue with the anchor getting stuck in the wall and having to drill around it to get it out. But thankfully Michael knew exactly what to do - and we were able to get screws/anchors from the hardware store to solve the problem. Everything turned out well, and I love it! Michael remodeled our interior stairs in our tri-level home. My wife and I feel very fortunate to have found him. Our family had the pleasure of having Michael work in our home over the past few weeks. Michael renovated our stair rail and it looks amazing. We could not be more happy with the results. And working with Michael was so easy and delightful. We are not currently living in the home and had to view everything from a distance. Michael checked in very regularly, sending us photos and ideas. He thought of things that we never would have and gave us choices and fixed a few little extras around the house that came up along the way. Michael's work is excellent! He's got very good attention to detail. We hired him to replace some doors, install baseboards, install some trim, repair some skylights, and paint it all. We had hired him previously to build a staircase railing and was equally pleased with that project as well. He made suggestions that saved us money on our project and it looks fabulous. He was very courteous and professional, he protected what surrounded the work area very well and cleaned up nice. He's trustworthy enough that we gave him the keys to the house so he could knock out the second job while we were on vacation.

With less than 2 weeks left before our daughter's wedding was to take place at our home, we found ourselves in a precarious position with an unreliable contractor. Michael assessed the situation quickly, gathered his team together and worked seven days a week and late into the night to build our three-story staircase in order to have it ready for the wedding. On the concerning side - we entered into a time and materials contract and would not do that again. Leftover materials were removed from our home save a few small pieces of wood - and hours did not always reflect presence. Our design requests were often ignored and built the way the contractor thought they looked best.

Michael did an excellent job. We were delighted with the result. Our project was finished on time. Michael ensured that any dust from the work was kept to an absolute minimum.

Michael created a custom stain for our replacement mahogany doors to best match existing original mahogany door frames. He was also able to repair and refinish existing door frames. The finished job is beautiful. Michael has quite a talent. He was on time and accommodating to our schedules. Everything was left in perfect shape.

Michael is fantastic! My husband and I just purchased a 1960’s traditional home that was lacking that general charm factor. After replacing the masses of carpet with hardwood floors, we hired Michael to install crown molding, baseboards, and stair skirts throughout the main and upper levels of the house. We also asked Michael to design and install custom trim around the entryway to the living room such that it matched the detail around our fireplace mantel. Wow, he did not disappoint! All of the work was performed with extreme attention to detail and with top quality. You can detect excellent work by inspecting the corners and seems of crown molding and trim and… just wow. He matched the paint on the baseboards and crown molding to paint we had previously chosen for our interior doors. He even used existing pain we had to touch up little scuffs on the walls. All dust and wood chips were vacuumed or cleaned up after all was said and done. Again, those little extra touches make such a difference. We look forward to having Michael come back to do some work on the stair railings. We highly recommend Michael, he’s a true carpenter!

He replaced all my doors, jambs, door trim, window trim and hardware and I love it! Mike and his assistant Dane we courteous, friendly and cleaned up after themselves daily. I felt very comfortable leaving them alone in my home if I had to be gone.

I have employed Michael to do several jobs and projects since our first introduction in August 2016. He has always made working together easy, orderly, no nonsense, incredibly efficient and delivered results that have exceeded my expectations. You cannot go wrong with Michael. Most recently, I engaged Michael to install a 20 foot reclaimed Douglas Fir wood beam in my Master Bedroom. It was to be a floating shelf from one solid piece of wood. The task was complicated by a few factors namely: - The wood beam had to be severed in half to make it up to our third floor with an 8 foot ceiling and reconnected seamlessly to keep the one long beam aesthetic. - The beam had to be cleaned, smoothed and stained to match the color of our custom-made wood finish bed. - The beam (over 200 lbs in weight) had to be wall mounted with no visible weight-bearing brackets. - The aesthetic look required the beam to be flush to the wall. Did Michael meet all those requirements? Yes, and then some. Take a look at our beautiful floating reclaimed wood beam. I said this before, don't hesitate about employing Michael. If his schedule is busy, wait for him to take your project. You will be thankful you did. He's an incredible man and a talented woodworker. Michael remodeled our stairway. He built custom railings, banister, newell post, and installed bamboo treads and new risers. We had a design in mind and he helped us refine it by adding design details that really improved on our original idea. The complete project compliments our home. Michael is a craftsmen and the fit and finish of his work is excellent. He is professional, friendly, trustworthy, and easy to work with. He shows up when he says he will and cleans up the job site at the end of each day. The project cost was within his original estimate.

Michael was amazing. From the beginning he was quick to come out and provide an estimate and then once hired completed the job so quickly. He is professional and just did a really great job. He cleaned up after himself and even helped on other projects that came up while he was at our home. We felt comfortable leaving him alone at our house and will absolutely hire him again. Update - We hired Michael a 2nd time in July 2016 to put in custom windows and the trim needed for them. It was a hard project that required some quick thinking to make it work. Not only did he make it work he made it look amazing. While at our home he offered to repair some drywall damage and suggested a fix to our staircase that he also took care of the same day. I cannot say enough about how amazing his work is.

Michael was fantastic to work with, produced a great project that exceeded my expectations, and was fairly priced. Quick too. He also does all of the work himself, and sees the project through to fruition. I would highly recommend working with him. (He sourced and installed cove and picture hanging crown moulding in my kitchen to match the original 1902 crown in the living room)

Michael recently completed a repair of our staircase so the carpet runner will lay correctly. He knew we were trying to make a deadline and squeezed us into a gap in his schedule. Michael is calm, meticulous, and clearly a knowledgeable master of his craft. His prices are reasonable. As soon as we spoke with Michael, and then in meeting with him, we knew we found the right guy! Throughout the course of the project, Michael was a consummate professional. He was accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project. Our job was done with care and precision. He is a gifted carpenter and the custom stair railing he designed and executed is perfect! In addition, he is extremely clean and tidy in the workplace. During the course of installation, nothing was left in disarray. Michael took special care to prevent any of the job dust from trailing throughout the house. In the grand scheme of things, our project was small scale, Michael treated us as if we were the biggest and most important project out there. Good work takes time and patience to complete, more so when working with a perfectionist. We have a wonderful outcome and would recommend him highly and without reservation.

We had a wobbly stair case post, Michael came out to repair it. He was friendly and did a great job in securing the stair way post so that there was no more wobble! It only took about an hour and his fee was very reasonable. We were so impressed with Michael, that we'll keep his information handy for future repair needs!!!

Michael is thoughtful, hard working, and detail oriented. He took the time to understand what we wanted and has come up with cost effective suggestions which have improved the original project substantially without increasing the price point much at all. Michael is truly the best, he's a real craftsmen that takes pride in his work and exceeding expectations. It started when he was hired to do some skirting for my staircase. He went above and beyond expectations on the skirting, even hand sanding and beveling the edges to give it that finished look! After completing that I asked if he did crown moulding, luckily he did! He gave me a quick quote which was well within my budget (when does that ever happen) and got to work the very next day! And if I thought he did a great job on the skirting I was blown away by the moulding, every bullnose corner was framed out to perfection. It changed the whole look of my new home! Incredible work at a very good rate. I'm having Michael come back in the spring to revamp my fireplace and I'm sure I'll have updates to this review! Great guy, great work, enough said!

Michael and his crew did an outstanding job on all the finish carpentry in our new home. Much of the work was custom such as a curved entry stairway, a custom raised panel wall surrounding our entry door, floor to ceiling raised paneled den with mantel and complete raised panel columns and arches in the entry, great room and dining room. Michael was a pleasure to work with and my husband and I would highly recommend working with Michael in any project.

Michael has done small and medium jobs for my wife and I as I don't want to use sharp tools anymore :) Seriously, I was a Realtor for 22 years and ran across lots of contractors. Michael is as respectful of my wishes as anyone ever was; listens and then offers a suggestion or another option at times. He is meticulous with receipts for supplies, even running a board or two back to the yard when he discovered a warp or "too many knots." The quality of his finish carpentry, though, is higher than I have seen even in some million dollar new homes. As a Realtor, I was in over 10,000 homes and many of them would have benefitted by Michael's level of craftsmanship. I think his prices aren't as high as he could rightfully charge...he wants to make his quality affordable "and I sleep well at night" he said once. Look at his finished work; talk to other clients. He's the real deal.
