We have stone steps - four sets all on hillsides - 99 plus feet of railings on 54 steps. It has been a real process - laser measure, crafted all the railings and supports, doing a dry fit, getting galvanized, then powder coated and finally the install two days ago. We are very happy with the appearance and stability these railings will give us. Great company to work with.

If you are looking for a residential spiral staircase, look no further. We just had ours installed and we are so happy. Our project from beginning to end did take a very long time, but it is because they are so busy. It was handled with a professional and customer driven process by Gina Phillips. Gina answered the phone the first time we called and answered our many questions about a spiral staircase. She was talking to us and answering all questions up until the final day of install. Our experience with Great Lakes Metal Fabrication was nothing but positive.

Great company to do business with. Very professional and they do what they say they’ll do. The quality of their work is excellent. Perhaps a little costly but you get what you pay for. I would use them again.

We had Great Lakes Metal Fabrication fabricate and install the railings for our new house. From the start, when we visited their showroom, the staff were friendly and very accommodating and responded to our questions satisfactorily. They informed us of the estimated length of time to fabricate the railings and we were notified when fabrication and powder coating were underway. The installers were professional in their behavior and they were also very accommodating in responding to our questions. The experience was pleasant and the finished product was very nice. The total price was also reasonable for the size of the project which was quite large. We highly recommend Great Lakes Metal Fabrication if you want metal railings.

I came in with a specific existing porch railing problem that I needed to address. It would come down to having some custom-made items to retro fit to the existing rail. Mark met me at the door and helped me flesh out a plan for replacement parts that they fabricated and was ready for pick-up the next day! Wow. Great turn around and great service. Will definitely return when it’s time to replace my whole system. Thank you Great Lakes!

Still waiting for my project to be completed. In March I was told it would take 10-12 weeks for completion. The railing was installed in August and here it is in September and I still do not have a hand rail. This is not a highly specialized custom job but a railing that is on display in their “showroom”. I get occasional communication from various people but nothing has proven to be accurate. The excuses/reasons for delays have included all of the drafters quit, one of the trucks broke down, and “we’ve got a few jobs ahead of you”. Very disappointing to say the least...pictures show the railing on display in the show room and my railing with the missing hand rail.

We purchased a custom made spiral staircase from Great Lakes Metal Fab. They did a great job from start to finish. They provided excellent advise and it looks terrific. They offer a wide variety of options, and are flexible to work with. They came out to verify the measurements and discovered that the staircase footing was not located exactly right, so they modified the stairs to compensate for that.

We actually were just searching the web for metal railing fabricators and found your company. We live about 40 minutes away and visited at your store. Everyone there was extremely professional, courteous, and tried to find the design we were looking for. They succeeded. Every person we met from designer to the fellow who came to the site for measurements were excellent. Today two young men, Matt and Daniel, installed our rail and we could not be more pleased with their perfect and dedication to making a proper installation. Great Lakes Metal Fabrication did such an excellent job with the railings for our porch. They came out to measure and much to my surprise was able to refrabricate...polish, remove rust, make the current railings we had look like new and reinstall them. Additional railings needed was made for our porch as well. The columns was reinstalled to prevent the awnings from falling before the snow accumulate on it. The staff...Stephan, Justin, Gina, Daniel, Matthew and others was professional and courteous. I was amazed at all they did to meet our needs and exceeded our expectations as they were also very considerate. There was no waste with the ability to use what we already had in addition to what was needed. My family as well as myself is so pleased to have had the opportunity to use their professional services. It has been greatly appreciated to have worked with you all. Thank you so very much.
