This is not the first time we have worked with a contractor nor is it the first house we have built, but it is the best experience we have ever had. We had invaluable weekly meetings, and Gregg's ability to articulate what was happening was incredibly helpful. We made a good working relationship. We also realized that we could count on the quality of the work that his team and his subcontractors delivered. Handcrafted delivers a quality product.

My husband and I hired Greg to build our new house in Columbia County. Greg and his team were wonderful to work with. Incredibly talented, professional and all round awesome people. They delivered our house on time and on budget. Unforeseen issues were dealt with swiftly, and several solutions were offered. The communication was great. They were responsive, patient with our questions, and offered us honest advice whenever we asked “If this was your house what would you do.” We are so grateful to have found Greg. He truly made our dream come true and we would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Gregg collaborated closely with me to restore The Gatehouse. His knowledge of historic restoration combined with his hand selected craftsmen made Handcrafted Builders a perfect match for me and the project. He advised me at every step along the way. The folks at Handcrafted Builders are simply the most professional, skilled, and downright incredible team I've ever had the privilege of working with. Compared to other contractors, they're just in a completely different universe. We've hired them for multiple jobs at our home—everything from renovating a bathroom to basically rebuilding our garage, and plenty of other things in between. The quality is phenomenal. (At a recent yard sale, strangers were commenting on the workmanship and skilled carpentry in our garage ceiling.) Gregg, Mark, and the rest of the team take what could be stress-filled projects, and deliver them with ease. They are fantastic about meeting deadlines and budgets, and always worked with us to match our goals with our bank account. They're also fabulous communicators—responsive, and patient with any questions—and just out-and-out great guys. They're straight shooters, they sincerely love what they do, they take pride in their work, and I just can't say enough nice things. I feel incredibly lucky that we've been able to work with them over the years. There are very few things in this world I'd unhesitatingly recommend, but Handcrafted Builders is at the top of that list.

We asked Gregg to walk us through a home we were considering buying to get his input on the state of the house and the likely cost to renovate it. He gave us a very thorough walk-through and a detailed estimate that helped us greatly in considering the value of the house. I'd recommend him highly for a consultation and have heard that his firm does quality work.

Handcrafted Builders Inc., of Rhinebeck, New York did an excellent job in the renovation of my house on Chestnut St; in the village of Rhinebeck. Gregg and Mark were sensitive to the history of the house and returned it to what it looked like in the 1890's. Their knowledge was encyclopedic and their attention to detail was reassuring whenever we visited to see the progress of the renovation. They knew what professionals to call on for different aspects of the project, whether it was electrical, plumbing, painting, heating and central air conditioning and the most efficient way to insulate an old house which did not have any. It was a thoroughly modern upgrade. Gregg even suggested that a poured concrete floor in my basement would be much better than the rubberized floor that I thought would be sufficient. On the exterior of the brick house Handcrafted recreated the Victorian details that were once present, but long removed. They also had expert staff to install a new kitchen with a modern, contemporary feel, but felt original to the house with antiqued cabinetry and beautiful new oak floors. Since we also added a two-story addition with a side porch, it proved to be just as attractive as the original rooms of the historic house. Here again Handcrafted installed an iron beam to insure that the old brick walls were properly supported. Finally, the cost was what we expected and was well-worth it. Had I another project to consider, I wouldn't hesitate to employ this company again.

Gregg was fantastic. He was very thorough with his inspection of a house my husband and I were looking into buying. He gave us sound advise and we were so glad it was Gregg looking at the house. If we would have bought the house I would have hired him and his company in a heart beat! But thanks to Gregg we will continue looking for the one and when that times comes I can't wait to have him fix it up for us!

We love our home. The craftsmanship is over the top and the commitment Handcrafted Builders showed to getting everything right was beyond impressive. This was a complete gut renovation. In fact, the only thing left of the original house is the 4 exterior walls. Gregg and his team guided us through a potentially daunting process -- from selecting the best HVAC system, to choosing the oak flooring, fireplace, cabinetry, counters, doors, lighting, windows and on and on. They also worked hand-in-glove with our architect and took total responsibility for the management and outcomes of all their sub-contractors (who were also real pros). We always felt that Gregg was on our side, never letting up until the project met his very high standards. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Handcrafted Builders has just completed a second floor addition of three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in our lake house. Gregg and his team demonstrated professional expertise at all times. Gregg is more than a general contractor; he is truly an expert in exterior and interior design. He carefully chooses his subcontractors and immediately responds to client needs. Our project took approximately six months, longer than expected, but the delays were generally due to an extremely bad winter in the Northeast. Overall, we highly recommend Handcrafted Builders and plan to use them again for additional construction projects next year.
