Helenscolour

Helen came into our new house and turned a disconnected living/outdoor space into an open, cohesive and quite frankly, luscious space to spend time. She worked with our existing furniture and objets decor, but reworked the space to bring her life. She gave expert advice in choosing paint colours - we settled on a colour that I would never have thought of myself, and the difference it has made to the feel of the room is extraordinary. She was also adaptable and eager to find solutions that meet our needs, from suggesting minor but impactful changes to more extensive projects. I cannot wait to get Helen back when we renovate our house so we can make our loved new home even more "us".

Helen helped me re work the living/dining space, which was open plan with doors or entry points on all sides. By rearranging furniture and artwork in a new way, the rooms are more liveable. Helen was flexible and gave great advice. She helped me decide which pieces to keep and which to remove, which are big decisions when you are stuck and need advice.

I engaged Helen to help me change the look and feel of my dining room. We went from there to my lounge room. Helen has a great eye for what fits where. We spent lots of fun hours browsing shops and the internet. I am very happy with the results. We have now become great friends. I would highly recommend her services

A small job and essentially one to bring flow to what is a narrow open space. The dining room table went back and allowed a study area to be established mid-room (moving from the cold third bedroom). The colonial painting sits uncluttered, picking up natural light. The television is not surrounded with "busy" distractions. Artwork was repositioned or added such that the colours go well with different toned wall finishes. Simple items have been placed on tables and surfaces bringing interest and drawing the eye, but not appearing cluttered. The overall effect is one of welcoming. Sometimes it takes a second set of eyes to point out what works, and refresh the settings. In that, Helen has strong informed views, and they work!

Helen is obviously an artist. Its obvious in her talent but also in her business skills. Initially I was worried about the cost of a professional but that faded as I realized it doesn't take long to get good results when you have the right person. We were clearly in capable hands. Helen was quick and professional. Dealing with her was a pleasure and her attitude was always positive and cheerful. I wish we hired her sooner. The time we wasted trying to make our place look good was silly when we saw what she came up with so effortlessly. Raw talent is inspiring. Helen clearly knows what she is doing and I look forward to our next project. I can recommend her with confidence knowing she will easily support everything I have said.

Helen agreed to help us with the preparation of our cottage in Dubbo for sale and went to a great deal of research and preparation before joining us at the property for a few days. On arrival she had many bright ideas of what work was needed in both the gardens and the house to beautify and dress up the property quickly and inexpensively. Helen convinced us with the benefit of hiring display furniture to present the rooms to their best advantage and made numerous enquiries to achieve this, unfortunately no such service was available in Dubbo. However Helen's artistic experience, positive and non-stop energy, can-do attitude and straight talking made the difference of turning an ordinary looking house into an attractive photogenic best seller. The final conclusive proof of the result of Helen's magic touch was having 16 groups at the open house, four requests for contracts and three making offers over the asking price.

I have a small home and was not happy with the look and feel of the living room. I liked the colours but could not make the room feel warm and welcoming. I approached Helen Ross for help. She quickly analysed the problem and had some great ideas. She was happy to work with my colour scheme. The brief for Helen was to inexpensively lighten and modernise our tired lounge-dining room. Helen recommended the following simple changes and this achieved the improved outcome. Painting the dark timber white and adding a white mantelpiece gives it a fresh look. The dark blue lounge previously looked out of place but by putting the single chairs across the window it opens the whole room up to the outside garden. Changing the colour scheme of the walls from beige to light grey and the carpet from cream to a darker grey, tones in perfectly with the existing furniture. By adding the floor rug and cushions in blue and white stripes, and removing some clutter from the shelves, we feel we have a new vibrant living space. All this was achieved with the minimal expense of paint, carpet and a few soft furnishings and of course Helen's great eye for colour and design. We're thrilled with the result!
