The passion of the outdoors and the drive to share that passion with others is why I-Design has been creating landscapes since 1992. With our expert design, quality installation, detailed maintenance division, and a combined experience of 50 years and growing, we will meet and exceed your expectations. We will create for you, a “Total Health” landscape that will help in the health of you as an individual, your family, the community and the environment. Let us, through your landscape, make this a never-ending outdoor experience. Not only do I run I-Design year round but in the off season, November thru April, when there is to much snow on the ground to do anything landscape wise I am the Snowboard Supervisor at the Steamboat Ski and Resort Company. I help start the snowboard program in Steamboat in 1986 and have been involved in the industry ever since. I also wrote a children's book. In 2010 I published a story I told to my daughter Thyme. Its called THE STAR FAIRY and is about a little girl that gets here wish for wings granted by the garden fairies and her adventure where she meets the Star Fairy. I have a lovely wife Tracy who is an Ayurvedic Practitioner and operates her own business in Steamboat, a son named Calvin (after Calvin and Hobbes) and a daughter named Thyme. Not only is this my family but my employees and clients round out my extended family.

We love working with Chris and his crew at I-Design. After long winters he helps us with the annual refresh of our landscaping with various projects, including design, hardscape and planting. Chris installed pathway lighting and down-lit the Aspen trees around our house for a warm outdoor glow, which we really enjoy. The I-Design crew winterizes our yard and cleans up in the Spring. We have worked with Chris for over 5 years and couldn't be happier.

Adding visual interest, eliminating turf, and improving the outdated irrigation were the primary goals for this phase of the landscape. Zusch met with us several times to understand our requirements and designed a preliminary plan for a new patio, bench seat, fire pit, trees, grasses and lighting. Scheduling can be complicated especially with wet spring weather, so the start of our project was delayed. Zusch kept us informed and in fact proved to be a good and willing communicator throughout the entire project. The crew worked hard in the summer heat with little shade and were always pleasant – it was nice to hear their frequent laughter. They were meticulous in leveling and setting the steps and patio stone. They also relocated stone from the back of the house to create a new front walkway which turned out better than we expected because the crew took their time in selecting and setting the stone matching the pattern of the adjacent path. We appreciated their pleasant demeanor, their hard work and the clean work site they left each night. The crew and owner of I-Design are professionals and delivered a beautiful landscape that uses less water more efficiently. We highly recommend using I-Design for your landscape needs.

Chris and his crew were great to work with. Chris took our ideas and designed a great landscape on paper. His crews then executed that plan to perfection. They were all very responsive to questions and comments and the final product turned out awesome. We would highly recommend Chris and his crew!

I-design installed a new sprinkler system, regraded our yard and seeded our lawn. We had to wait a few months for them to get to our project but it was worth the wait. Hen starting up our system this year we had a slight leak and they came over right away and repaired it. Great customer service.

We found Chris and his team to be very professional and a delight to work with. Chris reviewed our driveway improvement project with us, and was a great help in completing the design with an eye towards future improvements. Tyler, I-Design's project manager took great pride in completing the work in a very professional manner. His assistant, Kyle was great as well. The team arrived when promised and kept us informed of their progress on a daily basis. There were small cost overruns on the job which were communicated to us in a timely fashion. We are looking forward to working with Chris and I Design in the spring as we continue on with our landscape plans. We would highly recommend I Design to anyone looking to embark upon landscape projects.

I got lucky when I met Chris on a chairlif!. I had been unhappy with my landscaper for years but wasn't sure where to go. Last year while riding a chairlift with a snowboard instructor somehow we got to talking about landscaper. Chris said he owned a business and would love to discuss what his company had to offer. I contacted him in Januaryy and he immediately returned my email. We tentatively setup to meet in March before I left on a trip. To be honest, come March I completely forgot to contact him. Didn't have to worry because Chris contacted me! We had an initial meeting but because of still having about 100" of snow on the ground we couldn't do much. Chris came by once snow melted and put together a plan for a water feature and other landscaping needs. One of the best companies I have ever worked with. Job done on time, within budget and done right. I saw perennials on my property I hadn't seen in years because they were chocked by too much mulch. Looking forward to spring when the snow melts and we can fire up the water feature and I can once again enjoy my perennials in all their glory.

I-Design is a small company with an oversized work ethic and attention to detail. They know how to address their client"s wishes, the reality of their location and climate, and formulate a plan. Their work for us included paver walkways, a stone patio and landscaping with relatively mature trees, locally viable plants, drought resistant grass and sculpted planting areas all integrated with a watering system. The owner and his crew were a treat to work with. They were timely, within budget and both professional and personable. Neither our project nor our budget was grandiose, but when completed, their design and implementation was just what we needed.

I was very pleased with the patio I-Design put in for my mother. When I first met with Kris to discuss the project he explained different options, pros and cons and cost of each, and a an approximate time on when the patio would be done. I-design was on schedule and, with the combination of Kris' knowledge and the the work ethic of his crew, it resulted in a really nice patio that will be enjoyed for years. In ending, Kris and his team were all really personable and nice and took the time to talk with my 88 year old mother :) !

I Design Landscape is the landscape contractor for our townhome HOA in Steamboat Springs. Owner Chris Zuschlag has an incredible vision for planning landscape projects. His landscape crew is also terrific. Besides weekly lawn and garden maintenance I Design completed several large landscape projects for our HOA this summer. They designed and completed a wonderful new landscape plan for our main entrance drive. They completed a great deal of drainage work installing rock swales to properly drain water from five of the buildings. They corrected drainage swales in the lawn. They constructed a boulder retaining wall. Plus they upgraded a great deal of our irrigation system. All of their work has been exceptional. Chris from I-Design came up to my property, which is fairly isolated, to discuss what I wanted done. He also gave me some very good suggestions. The landscape is wild but needed some TLC. He and his crew did a great job! I was not there when the work was done. They came, did what was needed and then some. Old bushes were taken out and replaced, new mulch was added all around the house and they trimmed everything, too. They went a bit over budget but not a lot. There was more work than expected. I will use them again, for sure.

I Design is an honest, reliable and creative company with polite workers. Chris designed a difficult steep hillside with 30 flagstone steps supported with blocks from below and 3 flower beds supported by boulders. He took into account the erosion factor and the long term ability for the hardscaping to endure. The flagstone matched my house beautifully. Once the gardens get established, the flower beds should bring bright colors to the hillside. The drip lines work well. The initial bid covered any unforeseen problems such as the added time to complete the project successfully.

I manage a small community of very nice homes. We have used I-Design for routine items such as sprinkler irrigation service as well as on full landscaping projects. Chris reconfigured our irrigation from drip to spray. Everyone on the project was careful of the landscape and respectful of me and our property. Chris' estimate was right on and the results were excellent. We would definitely use him again!

I-Design designed and installed a new patio, sidewalk, and fire pit in our backyard plus they redesigned and improved all our existing plantings and flower bed areas. They also rebuilt a waterfall / stream /pond that was in our backyard. The end result was far better than we imagined and they were so easy to work with - on time, on budget, and came up with really creative solutions. I would recommend them highly. We were so impressed we hired them for weekly maintenance and have continued to use them for all our landscaping needs.

I-Design was great to work with from the original planning, to the work, and the completion. The project went very smoothly and as planned. The attention to detail was excellent. We were very pleased with the crew and the work that was completed. We are planning to follow up with some more work with the same group next summer. I Design did a great job at our ranch in Oak Creek CO. They installed a very large retaining wall that looks great and very structurally sound. Also lots of dirt work, drains, propane line and cutting down dead trees and much more. Also a beautiful patio and fire pit were designed and perfectly installed. The staff and owner are professional, fun and easy to work with. Projects were within budget too. If your looking for a great landscape company with good work ethics and will work within your budget I would give I - Design a call first.

I highly recommend I-Design to anyone looking for high quality landscaping, whether it is for design, installation, and or regular yard maintenance. Chris and his team have done all three for us, and still doing so, as I add features every year! Chris is very professional and knowledgeable about the plants and trees, and therefore very good at suggesting just the right ones for any location in the yard. He listens and questions about what you like or have in mind, and then gives you a detailed plan, submits all paper work to HOAs, and gets to work! He does not just oversee, he is directly involved and on site watching over everything every step of the way. His yard maintenance crews are always there, and do exceptional work. We have engaged their services for the last three years, including a very large project this past year, and already on their schedule for this coming spring. When we were in the process of working with our architect and builder in 2004, we also contacted I -Design to create our complete lawn, garden, shrubbery, fish pond and water falls for our property. In addition, all landscape lighting was arranged and installed by Chris., I -Design installed our sprinkler system and continues to upgrade it as we've re-arranged beds and incorporated various rock gardens, which Chris designed and built. He is always available to discuss possible changes and we trust his ideas. While the initial job, including building the flagstone patio and walkways took place in 2004 and 2005, our relationship is on going and we are constantly adding features and new areas. Larry Guss
