Our overall experience was positive. We did a full renovation of kitchen, living room, bath, & bedroom that included adding square footage, MEP upgrades, taking down walls for open floor plan, redesigning master bathroom for a modern wet room, enlarging windows for more natural light and highlight panoramic view, upgrading stairwells, all new finishes, hardwood floors, doors, appliances & furniture, and exterior siding fixes to achieve simple, modern, timeless look. Key highlights working with J&C: 1) good & open communication to smooth out challenges encountered as part of process (very important to us), 2) the crew was always pleasant & professional, 3) John offered effective layout solutions and options to meet project requirements, 4) the price was worth the high quality finishes. We love our newly renovated home!

John did a massive remodel for me which included: enclosing a potting shed area and turning it into a master closet; replaced all the siding, all the windows, doors and deck. ON the interiors, he raise the sunken floor in the living room, replaced the stair railings, completely enlarged the master bathroom, made a new kitchen, redid the tile, cabinets and fixtures in my bathrooms. HIs finish work in the tile work and paint was immaculate. In order to make my home more accessible most of the doors were widened to 36". His bid was thorough and spot on in completeness and accuracy. I found him easy to work with. He always listened to my concerns and responded in a calm and reasonable way. As of today, the photos here at Houzz are of my project.

John and his team at J&C CONTRACTORS did an excellent job on our remodel which included an addition, kitchen remodel, master bath remodel, guest bath remodel, new bathroom, stairway, interior painting, window installation, hardwood flooring installation all throughout, electrical, reconfiguring supports for doors and windows and much more work. I can't say enough good things about J&C CONTRACTORS. Since the start John took time to walk us through the process, estimates and made helpful suggestions throughout the planning phase. John clearly talked through any changes and budget implications. John listens carefully to what you want and makes sure the finished product exceeds your expectations. Works withing your budget and suggests great ideas based on his years of experience. The entire team at J&C showed professionalism, knowledge of the different trades involved, and an incredible eye for good workmanship details. They were at our home for almost 4 months and were very clean (made sure no trash was left out and picked up materials/tools the best they could every day). They are an honest company that has earned our trust; we will have them again for any other projects in the future. We could not be happier with their work. We highly recommend J&C CONTRACTORS!

I'd work with John and Chris again--a true sign of how well a remodel went. They dug out and finished our basement which included a kitchen and bathroom. John is really smart. He and his team have a great attitude, which is important when you will be working together for several months. They love what they do and have integrity. They found mistakes with a previous contractor's work and never took the easy route.

I worked with John on a kitchen remodel (Mar-Jun 2022). I started the process a year ago, getting 5 quotes and John stood out for his flexibility/willingness to work with us in our budget and his consistent good reviews. His bid was the most reasonable of all the contractors we met with. Since we started planning early we were able to order everything well in advance and had no supply issues and once the work started, it took 3 months. Our remodel consisted of raising the ceiling (to match the rest of the cathedral ceiling in the dining room), moving appliances around, installing brand new cabinets, countertops, lighting, and backsplash, and refinishing the floor. The end result is high quality and beautiful and we are really pleased. I found John's team to be friendly and considerate and his electrical subcontractor was similarly thoughtful and pleasant to work with. In addition, John was well aware of the permitting process (including recommending a structural engineer to check our ceiling before we started) and seemed to do everything by the book which I appreciate. A few considerations for you: 1. We had never done this sort of major remodel and it was an education for us. Given that we lived in the house during the remodel, there were times when we were quite frustrated with several days of nothing happening. Sometimes this was a result of waiting for a subcontractor to come or for the city permit folks. And some times it was a result of John's team working elsewhere that day. This seems to be the reality of major remodels but being prepared for it might make it a little less frustrating for you. I do wonder if some of the down time could have been avoided by planning ahead more/less "Just in time" scheduling. 2. We went with the designer John recommended (Amanda). I would not recommend this. While she did the design and helped pick out the cabinets, she was basically phoning it in for the rest of everything. I am happy with what we ultimately picked but would have appreciated someone who actually came and helped us pick materials/held our hand a little more. This is totally not a reflection of John and his work, just a heads up. In summary, I would recommend John and his crew again if I was to do another major remodel.

We highly recommend J&C Contractors who just completed a bathrooms and laundry room upgrade for our 35 year old home. A number of things set J&C Contractors apart from others who bid on our project or who have worked in our home previously. Foremost was the detail and transparency in J&C's bid proposal. Each task was listed with its associated labor and material cost. John listened to our concerns about budget, offered sound advice and suggestions, and worked with us to ensure our priorities were met. John recommended suppliers for tile, flooring and fixtures who were knowledgeable and very helpful. When the project started, we were already in a "good-to-go" position and the work proceeded without a hitch. The J&C crew who performed the work were experienced, capable, professional, tidy, respectful, detail-oriented and hard-working. They replaced flooring, countertops, toilets, sinks, and plumbing and light fixtures. They removed a tub and surround, replacing it with a walk-in tiled shower. The project was completed within the expected timeframe, within budget and was executed to our complete satisfaction.

J and C worked within the budget and were able to adapt when water damage was discovered during the remodel. They also set a schedule before the work began and stayed to the timeline. The quality of the work done was also to a high standard.

I contacted John for an estimate for remodeling the upper-level of our 1970 house. John responded quickly, showed up on time and asked a lot of good questions to understand our needs and giving suggestions. 10 days later, he sent us a very detailed proposal and itemized all the costs so we can tailor the plan to our budget. Although we did decided to postpone our project due to the increased remodeling cost during the COVID, I'm very impressed by John's professionalism and client-centered attitude. Would definitely reach out to them once we decided to get the project going and highly recommend anyone to give them a call.

John and his team at J&C CONTRACTORS did a great job on my full condo renovation. John is an experienced professional and reliable. He solves unexpected problems in a creative way. John and his crews are very polite and keeping the work site clean. I'm glad to see the complete transformation of my condo. Exquisite work!

For our kitchen remodel, John and his team did an excellent job. John was very good with communication during the planning phase of the project, and kept in touch throughout the renovation. His team works quickly but is still detail-orientated. They also take time to answer questions and deal with unexpected issues. His team installed our custom cabinets, and during the final walkthrough, the cabinet technician was impressed at the skill they had in installing the cabinets. The project started and was completed in the expected timeframe.

John and his crew were professional, courteous, and SO tidy while they worked. The quality of work is the absolute highest level and they're happy to answer any questions while they work. The project was originally scheduled for March but due to Covid not able to begin until August. The crew very politely wore masks while in the house and cleaned before leaving every day. I'm in love with our new master bathroom and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family or friends.

John and his team at J&C did exceptional work on our master bedroom/bathroom renovation. We highly recommend them and look forward to working with them again on future renovations to other parts of the house.

John and his team did a great job with our remodel which included a new kitchen, moving the sink, dishwasher and vent hood. He removed a closet to extend our kitchen and moved the refrigerator as well. The complete project also included replacing 26 windows and 2 French doors, and installing engineered hardwood flooring throughout the main level (removing carpet in half of the area). When small issues arose, he addressed them quickly and with attention to detail. We added on changing out our stairway baluster in the middle of the project which he did beautifully and without any added fees above the fair cost of the work itself. We developed a leak under the house independent of the project just as it was coming to an end, and he addressed that quickly as well. He has an eye for detail and clearly takes great pride in his work.

Juan and his team were from beginning to end very professional and did excellent work. Juan did excellent tiling work for me, and was willing to answer all my questions from beginning to end. My kitchen had to be redone from the floor up. They were patient with my many delays in getting supplies and waiting for my cabinets to be delivered. People have said that my kitchen looks like a magazine because of the amazing transformation. I am so happy with the finished product and my beautiful new kitchen.

John and his team did a six-week remodel of our kitchen. They installed a new island, knocked out a wall, installed a larger window, and replaced wall cabinets with floating shelves. They also installed a built-in desk and cubby/seating area. He provided us a very detailed quote and was responsive to emails and texts. John works on site alongside his guys most days, which means he is there to oversee the quality. John is detail oriented and can solve problems in creative ways. When there were issues, John was quick to correct them. We trusted him and his guys in our home even when we weren't there. We love how our kitchen turned out.

We hired John to remodel and reconfigure our master bathroom and closet, as well as tile our kitchen back splash. He wasn't the most inexpensive (his price was mid-pack among the five contractors we interviewed) or able to start right away, but was absolutely worth the extra money and the wait. He and his crew were very flexible, incredibly detail oriented, and willing to go the extra mile. Although John was humble and soft spoken during the bidding process, it became very clear once he started tile work that he has an exceptional eye for detail and takes tremendous pride in his work. His ability to plan ahead for niches, ledges, and items such as non-standard shower pans was also impressive! He had no trouble working with the city (Lynnwood in our case) to procure permits; something that was strangely hard to find in a contractor. He also accommodated a few minor design changes without delays in schedule or issuing change orders which we really appreciated. We only have 2 points of mild criticism to offer. John isn't one to stay in constant communication, so it took some prompting on our end to get progress updates. Once we started texting with John, we found him to be much more responsive. Also, the project took twice as long as what John estimated during the bidding process. This was somewhat due to delays by the city of Lynnwood, but also because John appeared to be overly optimistic regarding schedule during the bidding process. That said, the project was still completed in less than 2 months which we were more than comfortable with. It would have taken us 6 months to do this work ourselves. Would we use John again? Absolutely. He is a reliable contractor with a great work ethic, competitive pricing, a professional demeanor, and does very high quality work. In addition, he is responsive to warranty calls regarding his work and is available for questions well after his crew is done. J&C Contractors is a top notch group and are so thrilled we chose to work with them.

John's company is in very high demand and we had to wait a bit to get on his project schedule, but it was well worth the wait. John provides you with a very detailed quote of the services to be performed so you know exactly what work will be performed during the remodel. We had a fairly sizeable job and his team completely gutted and rebuilt our kitchen and powder room ceiling to floor. They had a high attention to detail and if there were adjustments or fixes to be made John was highly responsive in getting things just the way we wanted them. We absolutely love our new kitchen and powder room.

John and his team undertook our huge project and executed it beautifully. We are so happy with the kitchen addition and new bathrooms. The house basically was taken to the studs and rebuilt from the inside. John was always very positive, flexible and still stayed on budget. The attention to detail, especially the tiling and trim, produced gorgeous results. His staff was committed and worked very hard, often late into the night. The one comment for the future is that I wished I had asked them to be more diligent in putting down tarps on the outside of the house to collect stray nails/screws and other small construction debris.

John and his crew did a fantastic job on our guest and master bathrooms as well as drywall repairs, replacing windows, new trim throughout, adding in a sidewalk and patio on the back of the house and a number of other miscellaneous projects. We felt John was professional, knowledgeable and very organized with a personality that was easy to get along with.

John and his small team did a great job on our master bath remodel. He was very flexible when we changed our minds about a few things even after he got started on the project. His crew was very respectable, and did a great job of cleaning up and keeping the job site tidy as they worked. John's tiling work is beyond fantastic. He has a great personality, is kind, and very easy to work with! We would hire him again without question.

As an Interior Designer, working with John has been such a great experience. He is a great communicator, and executes my designs exactly as planned. I couldn't ask for a better attention to detail. We were very fortunate to find, and eventually hire, John to work on our kitchen and basement bathroom remodel. He was very professional and helpful from the outset. John and crew did amazing work. Their attention detail really showed on the finished product. We had our bathroom remodeled and our doors replaced with pocket doors in our home in July 2017. The crew worked long hours to meet deadlines. They assisted with demo, floor to ceiling tiling for shower, moving plumbing for shower and sink, moving and initiating new electric, replacing flooring, installing appliances, and ripping out our walls to replace our current doors with pocket doors. Once they were complete, it was truly amazing work. They matched paints perfectly to blend current wall colors, and our bathroom is utterly gorgeous due to the attention to detail. Highly recommend J&C Contractors.

I have built 2 custom homes and completed several fairly substantive re-model projects so I've had an opportunity to work with quite a few contractors over the years. Some very good and some not so much. John definitely lands solidly in the former category. From the first consultation meeting until the job was complete and cleaned up, he demonstrated a high degree of professionalism, courtesy, honesty and very importantly a focus on quality of workmanship. I am quite particular and probably provided more input on things like how I wanted the tile to be cut and installed than most folks in the trade would like but John was very patient, listened, offered input and delivered on my requests (actually exceeded expectations). We had a good size master bath remodel done in a contemporary style with large format tile on the floor and walls including some challenging dimensional accents and it looks phenomenal. I've had some fairly experienced folks walk through and all have commented on the quality of his tile work. Nice tight grout lines, everything level and true. The other thing that distinguished John from some of the other contractors I received bids from was the detail in his quotation. Everything was identified as a separate line item (to the penny) and he provides access to his accounts for materials so we got contractor pricing and he doesn't add any markup. His profit and O/H is only applied to his value added work. At the end of the job he removed all the items that I did myself without being asked and sent a revised invoice that reflected the removal so my job actually came in under bid. You can probably find someone who will install your tile for a bit less but I think you will be hard pressed to find someone who offers better value (quality, customer satisfaction etc). Obviously I recommend John highly for your project, particularly if it involves any complex tile work and I wouldn't hesitate to provide his name to family or friends. I will certainly be giving him a call the next time I have such a need. Thanks for doing such a great job for us John.

John of J&C Contractors is terrific. He (and his team) did fantastic work on our kitchen remodel. The project finished on time and on budget, but John goes above and beyond. He provides detailed estimates of the work, both costs and timelines, is incredibly responsive, and answered lots of our questions as we were getting ready for the project! He and his team were also very conscientious when they were working in our home (it’s hard to imagine, but our home was pretty spotless throughout the project, including demo!). We definitely plan to work with John again for future projects, and would highly recommend him.

Our project involved a major remodel of the master shower and also installing a glass bathtub door & vanity mirror for the downstairs bathroom. I provided a sketch/design of how we wanted the master shower to look. The finished project was a masterpiece! Our shower looked liked a shower you would find in the penthouse of a 5-star luxury hotel! 5 stars plus for J&C Contractors.

J&C Contractors were easy to work with, friendly & professional, and did an awesome job on our kitchen update. Our kitchen was dark and missing a canister light for some reason and John replaced our countertop, installed the missing ceiling light, and added under cabinet lighting. The kitchen is SO much brighter now, we love it. John and his team also completed smaller tasks like fixing the trim that our dog destroyed.. and fixing a nail in the kitchen floor. We'd recommend J&C Contractors to friends. They did great work, kept everything clean, and finished the project AHEAD of schedule. I'm not used to construction even ending on time, so ahead of what we had planned was great. We'll be reaching out to John and his team when we're ready to update the bathrooms next.

I would highly recommend J and C Contractors for any remodeling work you need to have completed!! We have hired John and his crew for several different projects. This time was for a condo. Once again John provided a detailed bid so you knew exactly what the costs were for and he very patiently revised it for us several times as we changed our mind about what we wanted to have completed. John is easy is to discuss ideas with, is flexible, trustworthy, and share ideas or Thoughts if you are not sure which direction to go. This remodel involved bathrooms and kitchen. The tile work is outstanding with the small grout lines and attention to detail. In the kitchen he his work again is beautiful down to filling alll the little nail holes, and trimming out the edges of cabinets to give a finished look. I cannot recommend John and his small crew enough. He was fair in all his pricing, communicated questions/concerns, helped us when we had questions and his work is beautiful. He really takes pride in all that he does and he understands that the smallest details matter. While working in the condo John and his crew were very respectful to our neighbors and always were aware of the quiet hours. Do not hesitate to hire John for any contract work you need completed - I promise you will be thrilled that you did!!

We have had J & C Contractors do several jobs for us and we were very pleased with the workmanship . They treated our home with a lot of respect as far as cleaning up after each visit. The quality of the work is excellent. They have done 2 bathrooms, rebuilt a garage and built a deck for us. We are in the process of renovating our kitchen and bathrooms in stages, so we had some work that required to be done now (back splashes) and in the future (bathrooms). From day 1, John was very professional in his estimating approach towards the work that we have requested, and provided detailed estimates of the immediate work and the future work. He also laid out his availability very clearly upfront to set the right expectations. Although, he wasn't the cheapest of the quotes, the combination of his preparedness, references, flexibility and professionalism made us chose J and C. During the actual date of work, they came in, took great care to prep and protect the work area, and were able to complete the work with great quality earlier than anticipated! We really liked the work and the professionalism, and we would definitely work with J and C again for our future projects! Update: 05/20/17: We call J and C back in Mar to have our bathrooms (Master and Kids') renovated. We are so glad that we did, as again the work was meticulous and of great quality! The little finishing and detail things that John puts into his work are things that I haven't experienced with any other contractors in the past, even down to how neatly he cleans up each day after the work was truly appreciated. We will definitely work with J and C again for all our other work that we will be undertaking this and next year! Highly recommended!!

We are in the middle on a whole house remodel. It took us over 9 months to interview and decide on a contractor. We honestly feel blessed to have found JandC Contractors. They are very professional, creative, efficient and they are doing a fabulous job. The detail work is perfection. We could not be happier with their work. We wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone who has need of a contractor.

We used J & C for a bath remodel with a lot of detailed tile work. John and his brother Eddie did a great job. Our project ended up on time with no over runs on agreed contract price. John was very knowledgeable and able to handle all phases of the construction project. He took care to protect carpet and floor and cleaned up daily. The work site was protected from the rest of the master bedroom so we were able to use the bedroom throughout the project. We would definitely hire them again.

John and his crew went above and beyond in a repair tile project for the master bathroom. I bought my home unknowingly aware that the 30 grand bathroom remodel was installed by an amatuer. After leaking thru my dinning room it became aware that they did not waterproof correctly. John and his crew came out and gave me an estimate that was lower or comparable to other contractors but showed a better knowledge and displayed pure confidence that they could install it as if it was never broke. The project took a bit longer because they found some flaws in the previous contractor that required fixing but they did these repairs for free and ensured the job was done correct. Can not express how happy I am with the work that John and his crew did.

We had floor to ceiling tile installed around a new fireplace. The mantle was also removed. We could not be more pleased. They showed meticulous attention to detail in matching the grain of the tile. They did not like the look of the pre set stone tile for the hearth so they pealed them off and set them by hand. My husband can not stand anything askew and he is totally satisfied with the job. We had one other estimate but they were not positive when we told them what we wanted and this company thought everything was doable. They were very respectful of out home and covered everything well.

We hired J&C Contractors for a Master Bathroom remodel, completed recently. All aspects of their work were professional, and John kept us updated each step of the process. We were impressed by their attention to detail, timeliness & reliability, and their work place cleanliness. All demolition was handled quickly, and clean-up was easy to life with as we still were using our house for other daily functions. We would recommend their services highly.

John oversees a team of professionals that have been timely, courteous, and ensured quality craftsmanship went into all projects we’ve had done in our home during the past 6 months! He installed mantles inside our main sitting room by opening up the walls to let light into the main room from two different angles. The finished work looks like the house was designed that way to let in the natural light! John’s team replaced our damaged laminate flooring, trim, and molding for our entire house! I had a glass tile backsplash installed in my kitchen. The estimate process was professional and the contractor was easy to communicate with. They came and did the project in a timely manner and it looks beautiful! I would definitely recommend their work!

I did not know Juan before my kitchen remodeling; however, he was one of five contractors whom I have interviewed and believed that he could be trusted for completing this work. After the completion of remodeling, truly, both my wife and I were so satisfied and impressed of he and his team’s excellent performance. We got his name from a local tile store. During the interview, I felt he is different from others is that he listens to us. He paid attention to what you want to accomplish and told us what he would do to finish that. He is a very knowledgeable young man and an excellent leader. They did not waste time and finished work as projected. They also worked very carefully to prevent damaging your properties, as if they were working at their own house. After work they did not left a trace of trash at my place, almost as good as my cleaning lady. I selected him because of his vision and his promise. His quote was not the lowest one among of five, in fact was second to the higest; however, I would rather to find someone who could do a quality work than I pay less with unacceptable performance. Multi talented, and quick was what I needed, and that is exactly what I received ! I hired them for drywall, extensive tile work, and paint. I hired John and team to complete a bathroom remodel consisting of putting in a tile shower (using the Kerdi system), a new door frame and door, window, and lighting fixture above the shower, not only did they do everything to perfection they happily fixed a few other things without even a thought of tacking on change orders and charging me an arm and leg for it. They just fixed it, because they wanted to make it look right! John also helped quite a bit with the design and providing recommendations and options on the layout of our shower and the tile selections we had made. They worked hard, kept it clean, and finished when they said they would! I have some of the highest expectations of customer service and standards and find that about 5% of companies meet my expectations, John and his team far exceeded them. Because of this and the relationship that was built leading up to and during the work they performed, I without hesitation added additional work of building a fence on a retaining wall that I had needed to get done. To give an example of the customer service John provides, I called him easily no less than 50 times between our initial meet and the project start date (1 month), and he answered his phone every time, or I got a call back within 5-10 min. I made several changes over the course of that month, and never did a I hear a hint of frustration from him on giving me yet another updated bid, or coming up with creative ways to solve what I thought were huge problems. We found J and C Contractors while considering a tile job in two bathrooms. They were recommended by the tile supplier and the work they did was very well done. We were very happy with the design and they did such a good job, we extended our plans to include not only re-doing the floor in the other bathroom, but remodeling the other bathroom also. They arranged for glass doors, which completed the look and the price for this was below the estimates given by vendors that I had talked with on my own. J and C Contractors were versatile and did a good job with the tiling, the plumbing and the lighting. They did a good job with the baseboards in putting a "bullnose" edge on the tile. They also suggested we change the attic access to a hallway location and installed a ladder opening for us, which we hadn't considered. If someone were considering using J and C Contractors, I would highly recommend them. I know I will use their services myself in the future.

J&C Contractors were recommended to us by Tile Lines in Kent. The job entailed putting in tile for the entry way and bathroom downstairs in our house as well as installing a new vanity . They were very professional and courteous in all our dealings with them. They were punctual and they cleaned up every day after doing work. Besides doing an outstanding job with the work, they went above and beyond the call of duty by doing additional labor and buying supplies to make the bathroom look finished. This extra work was the result of mistakes of ours, not theirs, but yet they refused to take additional money for the added labor and materials. The result was a very clean and professional look that we are ecstatic with – it looks gorgeous! We very highly recommend them!

A job well done under less than ideal circumstances, namely, using my materials under my direction. I needed someone with experience with Schleuter waterproof membrane and shower pan kit. I had bought all the materials and the local Schleuter dealer recommended J&C Contractors. J&C complied with all my requests with professionalism and respect.
