We had a Master class session with Jane. From the outset and initial contact with Jane we found her to be incredibly responsive and personable. She was easy to talk with and was genuine. The masterclass session went for about 2 hours in which Jane went through our house plan and discussed with us some alternate options to our floor plan to help increase our living space. We wanted to extend out current weatherboard house into the back yard to create a open plan kitchen, dinning and living area, plus create a 4th bedroom and also a en-suite bathroom and stand alone bathroom. Through the session Jane was able to advise us of rough estimate costs to do our renovation and also propose potential savings with alternate floor plans. Jane through this session listened to what we wanted and also discussed how best to utilise the space effectively. Jane was also forthcoming with providing us some recommendations on builders in our area and also provided a high level overview of the renovation process from drafting, building, fitting choices etc. Overall I would recommend Jane and her services even if for a masterclass session. Thank you Jane for taking the time to meet with us and also providing some of your thoughts on our renovation of which we will use and hopefully proceed with our extension in the near future.

Jane provided me with some initial advice on changes to my apartment. Her clever suggestion of a minor ‘tweak’ created a great outcome, which greatly improved the my apartment layout, created more storage, whilst being cost effective. I found Jane’s profile on Houzz while looking for an architect about a year ago – I loved her portfolio, and the rest was instinct. It seems fitting then, to leave my own review for people looking for a great architect. This is quite a long review - the short version is that Jane is truly client oriented and I highly recommend her. By the way, the project is expected to be completed around April 2020 but the online form only goes up to 2019. For those looking for more detail... While huge to me, my project is a fairly small one (I’ve put the details below if that helps anyone), but I was really daunted and managing the whole thing myself was overwhelming. Jane put me at ease instantly – she had absorbed my ‘brief’ which was mostly about the feel I wanted to create (with a few specific functional things), and it was clear that she really understood what I wanted. She’s also been very mindful of my budget and finding ways to do everything I wanted without going over. She’s very easy to talk to, creative and open to questions and ideas – I felt like it was an easy collaborative process. She was clear about fees and costs so I knew exactly what was coming and how much the extras (like the structural engineer and surveyor) would cost. She also advised it was better, given the size of the project and my budget, to hand over the management of the project to a good builder. We ended up going to tender to find a good price and a builder who was going to be a good fit for me – Jane and Drew made sure I met each builder onsite and read their submissions. We went with a builder Jane has worked with and trusts to do high quality work. It’s early days, but I’m so happy with the builder Jane recommended (Stuart from Enviroline) – he’s easy to work with, incredibly knowledgeable, and I feel very confident that he has my best interests at heart. I’ll be doing a review for him a little later. More generally, she also took the time to understand how I use my home, what’s important to me, and what my future plans are – she had great ideas about how to make the house as energy efficient as possible, which is something I wanted, and throughout, focussed on quality and longevity (as well as some of my quirkier requests). Overall, I would highly recommend Jane to people, particularly those renovating their ‘forever home’.

As a interior architect Jane was able to optimise our vision & selected white goods into conceptual design for confined kitchen, entry lobby & laundry spaces at our kitchen table in a single consultation. The sketches providing the blue print for our architectural joiner to develop detail plan & elevation for approval to shop drawings, construct & install. Greatly appreciated. Jane took on the project of renovating the interior of our house, designed in the 1920s by Walter Burley Griffin. We wanted an architect who could bring some modern updates (closets, bathrooms) without compromising the unique architectural and historical nature of the property. Jane immersed herself in the project, which became a lot more complicated than originally anticipated due to serious neglect over the years. She has proven to be a consummate professional, finding us a builder who is perfect for the job, overseeing every detail, and making sure that we are apprised of and in agreement with all the subsequent variations to the original contract (which have been innumerable). Because we wanted to move quickly, it was done on a cost plus basis, and both she and the builder have been transparent and honest about costs. She brought a colleague with special historical expertise into the project to ensure that WBG’s heritage would be honoured throughout. I have total confidence in Jane and would recommend her without hesitation.

I hired Jane with limited knowledge of what a major renovation entails and over the course of several months she worked with me to deliver a stunning heritage restoration of my terrace home. What I wanted from an architect was more than just drawings given my busy job and her prompt professional attitude with attention to detail made our working relationship very easy. I had a number of must haves for the renovation including a new staircase, WIR, kitchen, bathroom, understairs WC, new joinery and colour scheme. We were needing to redesign the interior of our Californian Bungalow. Jane was great, she gave us ideas that used what we had already but with some changes that allowed our home to flow better, be lighter and more functional. Also being mindful of budgets and offering alternatives.

After talking to a number of architects Jane was best able to turn our brief into a clean contemporary modernist set of plans for our new home. Always conscious of our budget she kept us in check while ensuring the houses integrity and liveability was not compromised

We wanted a garden studio that could also provide extra accommodation when necessary; we have a seaside location which draws family and friends at holiday time. Our house is a traditional 50's stone place so we wanted something to blend in but to also add some contemporary pizzazz. Jane listened carefully to our needs and not so definite brief but came up with a very interesting, practical design which we really liked. She also linked this space design wise to an enclosed courtyard and pergola; unifying the north facing and sheltered back yard. This was probably the only real specification that we provided, that all would function as a whole with scope to add through planting of coastal and indigenous plant species. Jane's creative flair certainly has achieved this, she was always responsive and efficiently came up with practical solutions when we had questions. It has been easy to work with her because of her willingness to focus on the task at each step of the way; keeping us on track in our meanderings! The builders have been impressed with her attention to design detail.
