Jane was referred to us by a friend who is a real estate broker and we are grateful for the referral. She was a true partner to us as we set about redecorating our living and dining rooms, master bedroom, and guest room. We gave Jane a sense of our needs, style and budget, and she did all of the legwork and research providing us we great options from furniture and fabrics to floor coverings and throw pillows. Jane is a pleasure to work with. She is creative, resourceful, and refreshingly direct. Plus she is patient and willing to persevere in the face of her clients' indecision always ready with alternate ideas and solutions. We're so happy with the new look of our apartment and thankful to Jane for her great ideas, great eye and all of her help and support.

Jane is personable, knowledgeable, and has great taste and great sense of color and style that will fit your home and personality.

Jane is very professional, creative and accommodating. She was very patient with us as we had budget constraints and size issues - she helped us through it all. I would highly recommend her!

Unfortunately my experience with Jane was not a positive one. She is very knowledgeable of furniture vendors and if you're looking for someone to help you shop, can probably be an asset. But if you're looking for someone to provide a comprehensive design plan for a room, help pull together a finished look, or make recommendations for contractors of any kind, I'd advise you to look elsewhere. Hundreds of dollars later, the only changes in my house are ones I handled myself. In almost six months of working together, I never received anything other than a few pictures of incredibly expensive furniture options - none of which were to my taste because Jane did not know how to view any of the Pinterest boards I pulled together for her to reference. Incredibly frustrating, especially given how Jane presented herself initially. Ultimately, I chose to terminate the relationship, even though I knew I would be out the money I foolishly paid up front. It was an expensive mistake. Hopefully this review can save you from making the same one.

Having just moved into a new (studio) apartment, I had very simple needs: I needed advice on wall color selection, furniture placement, ideas for a flexible art display, and timeline for future apartment upgrades. I had a two-hour appointment with Jane Mogel. She came to my apartment (arrived on time), and provided many good ideas on all of the above. She also mentioned that a ceiling fan I had (which I hated, but didn't know I could do anything about) would be more effective as a light fixture. I agreed! After one hour at my apartment working on the topics I listed, we made an appointment to meet on a different day to shop for lighting fixtures. End result: I swapped out the ugly ceiling fan for a beautiful light, and my apt looks great. There is a bathroom upgrade in my future (old pipes will need to be replaced) and I will definitely call Jane.

Jane was a pleasure to work with and provided me with great advice and design help as I re-did my living room and foyer. Jane created dynamic looks in both rooms that not only looked good, but were also maintainable with my three young kids. I would highly recommend Jane. I think she values her clients' input, but also provides experienced advice.

We first contacted Jane Mogel, of Jane Mogel Interior Design for a consultation regarding some decorating needs for our apartment. We needed someone to bring our eclectic style into one cohesive elegant living room space. What impressed us was the attention Jane gave to our ideas, and how easy and comfortable she was to work with. With Jane’s extensive knowledge and resources we were able to decide on the perfect fabrics and pieces for each project. Jane’s team created a room darkening roman shade for privacy, a sheer daytime roman shade, sofa pillows, faux wood blinds, and the reupholstering of two chairs. Each project was accomplished with the utmost attention to quality and detail and delivered on time. Jane made our apartment into a home that brings pleasure every time we enter. We look forward to calling Jane and her team for any future design needs.

I didn't know where to start with decorating an entire new, empty apartment. Jane gave me focus, listened to my thoughts and gave ideas I would not have thought of on my own. She is very accommodating with her time, is patient, and takes on your project almost as if it were her own. She is a professional. And a very nice person too!

We bought and gut renovated an apartment in Manhattan and needed to decorate virtually the entire place. I found Jane Mogel on Angie's List and read favorable reviews there, so interviewed her as well as 3 other decorators and interior designers. What I loved about Jane is that she did not push her point of view on me, but worked with me to find things I truly loved that reflect my and my husband's taste. Jane really listened to what we wanted (and we wanted some pretty specific items that we would not compromise on) and came up with lots of choices and options for us. She has a great eye for color and mixing fabrics and patterns. We had drawn up a budget in excel before our first meeting, and she was mindful of our budget throughout the process, which was an important factor for us. There were several situations that cropped up through no fault of Jane's, and she worked tirelessly, and cheerfully, to rectify the problems. We worked with Jane to acquire furnishings, art, rugs, reframe items we already owned, choose fabric to reupholster furniture, and do all window treatments. Our project took almost a year from start to finish, so we saw Jane frequently during that time. She was always pleasant and professsional, and we are very happy with results.

Jane Mogel was great to work with. I needed a "refresh" to my apartment and I didn't have any time and I had a pretty small budget with a few projects in mind. Jane took care of everything, she presented me with options for new curtains, light fixtures, wallpaper in my bathroom and a couple of furniture pieces. I picked what I liked and Jane did all of the leg work--within a few weeks everything was done and my place looks great.
