Jimmie Brown is a craftsman and artisan. All of his work for me was hand crafted. He is very knowledgeable about old world craftsmanship when furniture making was an art and the craftsmen were revered for their workmanship as artist. His knowledge of different types of woods, grains, colors, areas of propagation, strength, durability, age, and aging process, climate, machined and hand crafting is incredible. He builds items to last. He is a creative artist designing the desired project whether furniture, cabinetry, doors, tables per verbal specification presenting those specs pictorially for review before work is initiated. When I saw my rendition of my verbally described wish project on paper before the project began, I was elated. The enhancements and actual end product fulfilled my every wish. He is versatile, creative, knowledgeable and a historian. He and Clayton, his brother who works with him, are professional, kind, and respectful of you and your home when installing. They have made an exterior door that is extremely solid/heavy with great balance and looks. The wood portion of the door is bullet proof. They have built a very large dictionary stand which I could not find in my local stores; a bridge for an outdoor oriental garden; and decorative flower pots from unusual, beautiful woods. They are timely, genuine, and worth their weight in gold. This type of artistry and professionalism is extremely rare. If you are looking for someone to do the unusual and do it well, Brownstone custom is the place to contact. I think because he a a small company, I often had to leave messages on his answering service, but he always got back with me in a reasonable time.

We are very satisfied with the work done by Brownstone Custom Cabinetry. We hired them to build some custom built-ins for our living room. We shopped around, but felt he had our best interest in mind, so we chose his company over the others. Jimmie came to our home to discuss the options and measure the space. He was very professional and knowledgeable about what our options were. He was upfront about the cost, the time frame and any other concerns we had. The cabinets were finished on time and look amazing!!! These pieces complete our room and we are so happy we chose to have them made.
