Jkath Design Build + Reinvent

We haven't yet had the pleasure of working with Katie and Jesse on a project yet, but we cannot wait until we have the opportunity! Their team is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and all of their work is giving us great inspiration for our next project!

We absolutely loved working with Jesse, Katie and their team. They were our top choice from the very beginning of our project (we compared to 2 other companies) and we're incredibly grateful we trusted our gut and went with JKath. They were professional, excellent communicators, stayed ON TIME and ON BUDGET throughout the entire process. They were hands on so that we felt confident, and have superb people on their team so they know the top quality of work we were getting. I can't tell you how many people have walked through our home since our remodel and been incredibly impressed (including other contractors who comment specifically on the beautiful cabinetry and windows) and other families who have done their own remodel. We added about 800 square feet of finished space (kitchen gut + remodel + mudroom + powder bath, 2nd floor kid bathroom + master bedroom + bathroom + closet + basement studio space. We also flattened our backyard and did a lot of landscaping. We really cannot say enough good things about the entire JKath team!

We knew right from the get-go that JKath was the company we wanted to help modernize our home and make it more functional for our family. They patiently stuck with us for a year as we started out with a big living space and master bedroom/bath remodel/addition and ultimately switched gears to completely overhaul our kitchen, entry and powder bath instead. Their expert guidance, advice, responsiveness and attention to detail throughout the whole process were spot on and we are thrilled with the outcome. We will definitely use them again when we tackle our next project.

We had previously worked with Jesse + Katie in our old house, where they built our kitchen cabinets from their custom cabinetry shop. When we decided to move across the city into our new home with the hopes to remodel parts of it, we knew exactly who we wanted to work with. Originally only wanting small updates to our new home, as we were settling in and working with Jesse + Katie, the scope of our dream home grew to a full house renovation. They worked with us to stay as close to the schedule as possible, while tackling our expanded vision. We love Jesse + Katie’s take on modern traditional homes and let them run with the project. Knowing we spend a lot of time in our kitchen, together we decided we wanted to remove a wall to explore an open floor plan, specifically for the flow between eating areas into the dining room. From the building to the design process, we worked together to see our dream home become a reality.

My living room was my least favorite room in our house and needed a change. I was struggling to come up with ideas and felt stuck. Jkath was able to present me with flexible options, prompt attention, and thoughtful advice to give our living room the makeover it needed. We love our updated space and were so impressed with their service.

We've supplied reclaimed wood products for Jkath Design & Build for several years. Their designs are creative and innovative. They are always very professional and adept at respectfully managing client expectations. They manage project timelines well and are wonderful to work with.

Our finished basement was out-dated and non-functional for our entertainment needs. Our three teenagers were reluctant to have friends over and barely utilized the space. Enter Jkath. We had a vision for the remodel. Their vision was better. This may sound corny, but they stretched our comfort zone and opened our eyes to new possibilities. Our brown tones, dated paint and floor coverings were replaced with cool shades of white, grey and blue. The shiplap wall, sitting area, wood floor and bar are eye-catching in both form and function. The AV set up is awesome and adds a new entertainment element to the entire area. Their team of workers, designers and idealists were honest, always on-time, uber polite and always cleaned up promptly. I could go on forever. The process was flawless and the end results exceeded our expectations. Do yourself a favor and meet with them. You won’t be disappointed.

To say Jkath did an amazing job would be a complete understatement. I had a vision of what I wanted for my kitchen, and they absolutely made it come to life. The experience was completely collaborative and they took my taste, along with my wish list, and pushed the boundaries. We were able to maximize every single square inch of my space to drastically improve the function of my kitchen. Jesse's skill and knowledge of custom cabinetry was critical in our quest to leave no empty space. A smart use of a hidden panel doubled the original size of my under cabinet storage - and that's not an exaggeration. Katie's style is fabulous, and slightly more daring than mine. She worked with me to select just the right tile, fixtures, and hardware to make my kitchen feel like me. Occasionally pushing my comfort zone, but always exactly in line with what I was thinking. When I was unsure of certain decisions, there was no pressure, and I was able to take my time and make sure I was comfortable with my choice. Their team is completely professional, and always cleaned up after themselves; which is actually amazing considering they ripped my walls down. I can'not recommend them enough for your next remodel. No matter the job, I guarantee these two can make it happen.

The level of service and care that J Kath provides is unmatched. They truly live up to their promise of "living in the details". Throughout the process, they guided us and helped us decide where to spend more vs. save costs. It's clear that each aspect of the build was carefully considered to create the best result. They maintained the charm of our classic colonial home while creating a functional space that we can live in with our family for many years to come. And most importantly, the team is made up of genuine, honest people who are fantastic to work with!

I can't say enough good things about the Jkath team. From their design style, to their craftsmanship to their personalities, they are the best to work with within the Twin Cities. We have done a handful of collaborations together and most recently had their custom cabinets installed within a kitchen remodel for a client. Best cabinets we've ever had in one of our projects. They're customer service is above and beyond too. They were at the job site more times than we can count ensuring the client was happy and that the install was perfection. I recommend these guys all the time and I will continue to again and again. All around really good people too.

We have recently worked with Jkath on a flooring project. They are a top notch company when it comes to craftsmanship and project management. You can tell by the way all the correct material is ordered each time creating a smooth workflow for the installers and easy transition from start to finish for the client. Jesse is incredibly talented. We could not be happier with our completely custom office cabinets he made for us. We are so happy we found JKath!
