I have had the pleasure to join John on multiple projects throughout several years. Together we worked on films, nightclubs, bars and restaurants. He has a tremendous ability to see the finish product in a pile of rubble and knows how to communicate that vision. Always and professional who treats clients and colleagues with respect and understanding. I would work with this guy everyday given the chance.

John was highly professional to work with, a wonderful demeanor and always calm under stress. The quality of his work is of the highest standards and he sources excellent materials.

We love Sala & Rye House in NYC. Both restaurants are on our top five favorite restaurants in the city and It's not because the food was great but the atmosphere and layout is just amazing. Wish you were still available to design movies!!! All the best.

John was an amazingly competent, talented, organized, and collaborative Production Designer on a film I produced several years ago. He further provided some design concepts for a new bar for me that were top notch. He is a gentleman, an excellent and responsive communicator, and a true joy to work with, and from what I understand from his team, also a joy to work for. If I could have him on every project I do, I would be very lucky.

As a family anxiously transitioning from an older childhood home of 40 years to a brand new modern house, we didn't know quite where to begin. John Nyomarkay took our blank slate and immediately transformed it into a beautiful and comfortable space to live, work, and entertain. John made smart design choices and always remained considerate of our family's specific needs and aesthetic desires. He created spaces that provide for great flow, aesthetics, and functionality, while also paying meticulous attention to unique and personal design details. The move into our new home was made easier by the casual beauty and elegance John created in our new space. We are grateful for John's professionalism and expertise.

I've done 4 full restaurant build outs with John. His designs are creative and functional. He always pays close attention to budget. He is fully focused on all detail. Every experience I've had with John is 5-stars!

When a restaurant OR a tv/film production requires design, both involve much more than 'style' and 'accuracy' visually and spatially. When done exquisitely, the space evokes a convivial and enlivening, visceral and sensory experience . Creatively (right brain) : John Nyomarkay is a consummate professional designer whose vision, style and taste, like a masterfully crafted cocktail, blends only the best ingredients (some exotically unique) in all of the right doses - the result is a tantalizing experience. Business Professionally (left brain) : Where most creatives fall short, John Nyomarkay has a balanced business sense, focus, awareness of timing, and of deadlines and budget. He possesses a practical sensibility and pragmatism that allows him to work side by side with contractors, producers, schedulers and controllers. ...John loves what he does for a living and it shows.

I have been a patron at restaurants and bars which John Nyomarkay has designed and built from the barest of bones. Recently, I consulted John regarding the redesign of my psychotherapy office which must be professional, warm and welcoming. I have also seen his work for individuals who are eager to incorporate their own "treasures," collected over the years, into eclectic, stylish and welcoming private residences. The latter, is a special talent that not all designers possess. Rather than being myopic or over-invested in his way being the "right way," John is very tuned into the needs of the client -- even when they themselves are struggling with a variety of, and at times conflicting, design ideas. Private entities and corporations hire John because he has an unflinching eye for detail, can resolve difficult spacial problems, is highly creative with light and shadow, and is able to blend the old with the new in a way that seamlessly creates not a retro space, nor a futuristic one, but a wholly unique space that enlivens and inspires the most jaded among us. John is honest and collaborative and will not consider the job completed until his clients have achieved their goals.

John is an incredibly talented designer and such a pleasure to work with. I've worked with him on films, commercials and restaurants and I hope to work with him again soon.
