Just a warning that these folks overcharge IMO - so be sure to get multiple estimates - and for the work completed at our house they did not stand behind the workmanship or adjust their poor design work. Specifically, much of the stone facing has begun to fall down 2-3 years after completion; the massive plantings undertaken were the wrong types of plants and have largely died even with a full-time landscaper to maintain; the bar installation was missing the planned drains; and the bar is 5 ft wide - you cant pas a drink! They have talked a good game to fix this over the years and never delivered - disappointing. AND I have asked repeatedly for our photos to be removed from his sites and he wont comply.

Jon and Mark are a fabulous team. They designed a beautiful and workable landscape for our challenging yard and created a place that we love to spend our time in. Their work is impeccable, their attention to detail and customer service is of the highest standard, and 5 years later they still respond immediately to requests and come back to help with even small matters. Plus they are nice people to deal with, which in today's world is rare!

Green Island Design designed and executed a complete exterior renovation for my home, including all landscaping, walkways, back patio, outdoor kitchen and pool. We were extremely happy with them from planning to finished product. Jon and Mark understood what was needed to make our dream front and backyard, utilizing their design expertise and exquisite products. We believe they steered us in the right direction on numerous fronts and we would use them over and over again.

We contracted for a pond less waterfall. Several weeks after completion it would lose its water within an hour of the system running. They could not find the leak so Mr.Jon Papallardi told us to add a sprinkler to our automatic sprinkler system to supply additional water . We added the sprinkler but problem continued . He then suggested we build a pond to supply water to the waterfall through some kind of automated system, all at our own expense. Over four summers the company dragged out minor repairs that failed. Then two summers ago they sent one person to repair the left side which had settled a couple of inches. He worked a full day and left without finishing the left side water feed to the fall. Repair had no effect. Water seeps through the rocks and the system runs dry in less than twenty minutes. The construction was findamentally flawed as they didn't properly secure the liner to catch the seepage from the sides and used a mass of hydraulic cement ( which cracks and breaks up within two winters) to contain the water at the edges. In short, the waterfall which cost us some six to seven thousand dollars (as part of a landscaping design of our back yard) has never functioned. The company refused to reimburse us any part of the money, claiming they had repeatedly returned to service the waterfall. They did but the repairs never worked. We would notify them in the spring. They would come in August, and, though notified of the ineffectiveness of the repair , would not show up till the following year..

Green island designed and facilitated a full exterior renovation of our property in Southampton NY. Our project was completed in phases over 3 years , and they did a amazing job foreseeing future work. The finished project was amazing. There whole team was great to work with and respected our property and privacy while we were at the home. There design was one of a kind and everything works extremely well together. Everyone that comes to our home has great compilements on there work. We could not be more pleased with the project.

Green Island Design gave me hope that great contractors who take pride in their work are still out there. GID took on a major makeover for our home which included, a complete hardscape and landscape for the entire property including a built in gas bbq and fridge, as well as, a cultured stone façade and bluestone/composite deck porch. From the initial estimate meeting with Mark, I knew they were the right contractor for us. This feeling continued right through to the broom swept finish with Jon waving to our neighbors as they drove by giving their thumbs up approval. My experience with GID was enjoyable and professional at all times. Mark and Jon are a great 1-2 punch and each brought great ideas to the table and enlightened me on the process behind their design. These guys have a tremendous educational background in this field and this is where they rise above the rest before they even break ground. Another plus was that their contract was extremely detailed so we knew exactly what we were getting. During their design, their drawing renderings also brought the project to life and really gave us a sense of what the final result would be. Once started, GID was onsite EVERYDAY from start to finish. Their crews took the time needed to ensure everything met our expectations and their foreman was a pleasure to work with. Mark and Jon were readily available to answer any questions or provide insight as to how their schedule was moving along. Now complete, our home is a pleasure to come home to each day. The compliments from the neighbors don’t stop coming and the frequent back yard barbecues all contribute to our high recommendation for Green Island Design. I hired Green Island to completely renovate the backyard at my summer home in the Hamptons. As I have no eye for design, I asked them for ideas. To say they delivered would be a gross understatement. They completely transformed a bland, ugly yard into something that looks more like a vacation resort. No one who visits ever wants to leave --- a hot tub encased in beautiful stone, incredible new pavers that expanded the usable space in the yard, a great outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, a water feature at one end of the pool, a beautiful deck that runs the length of the house, and an incredible cabana style bar where people gather to share cocktails and watch TV. I have over the years gotten used to service providers who over promise and under deliver. Green Island was the exact opposite -- Jon and his team were an absolute pleasure to deal with, communicated with me every step of the way, and delivered something that greatly improves the pleasure we all get from the house.

I own a residential architecture firm in Bellmore, NY and work closely with Green Island Design in many facets. The designers at Green Island Design developed a design plan for a full redevelopment of my offices. Once the plan was finalized their crews began work on the site. They built a radial retaining wall veneered in culture stone and included a 10 foot radial sheer descent water feature as the center piece of my property. They redesigned my parking lot which included Cambridge Paver inlays and aprons. In addition to the masonry work, they installed various evergreens, flowering trees and shrubs, as well as colorful perennials. A Cambridge patio area was installed as an area to sit quietly with clients and discuss their potential projects outdoors. Green Island Design transformed my property as a showcase for my clientele and has made us a landmark in the community. I refer Green Island Design to my clients and strongly recommend using them for your design and build projects.

Jon and Mark Pappalardi built a very impressive gunite swimming pool with a water park grade slide in my backyard and professionally landscaped my entire property. In addition to the gunite pool, a large Cambridge paver patio was built to accommodate our outdoor furniture and dining areas. A multi tiered Moss Rock waterfall cascades through the landscape and slide and into the gunite pool. They also redesigned my driveway including a paver walkway and a Cultured Stone retaining wall. The project exceeded all my expectations. Additionally, throughout the whole project both Jon and Mark were readily available to speak with whenever I needed to contact them. Further, the price was extremely competitive. When I was taking bids for the job I received estimates that were 100 to 150% higher than the price I ultimately received from Green Island Design
