Kitchens By Design

Cathy and her team designed a wonderful kitchen remodel for our house originally built in 1902 with a renovation done in the early 1980's (the aqua tile and formica counters were the give away). She listened well and the results are outstanding. Our crowded kitchen without a pantry now has 3 floor to ceiling pantry cabinets. We have empty cabinets and have brought the items previously stored in the kitchen and other places to the kitchen where they belong. We are very pleased and thankful that we chose Kitchens By Design over the other two firms we considered.

Gabe Rothwell did a great job designing and managing my kitchen renovation, which became more of a first floor renovation. The relationships that KBD has with its contractors and suppliers helped bring a complete gut and rebuild in on time (5.5 weeks) and pretty much on budget. There were a few surprises along the way that resulted in an increase in scope that could not have been anticipated - duct work in a wall, door adjustments to accommodate new flooring. The kitchen looks beautiful and works well for a couple who both like to cook together. Would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting a high end kitchen that is functional and beautiful.

Cathi and Gabe were great to work with. They were very patient with us and stuck it out with us for some time trying to decide exactly what we wanted to do. We had many different designs before finalizing exactly what we wanted. They manage everything including construction, appliances, lighting, painting etc. They stay very involved through the entire process. Any change orders we decided to do were communicated up front with no surprises. They also followed up afterwards to see if we wanted any drawers or shelves changed after everything was completed. We would definitely use KBD again (actually they are back already doing another project) and would recommend them to others. We love our kitchen.

From Start to Finish, Cathi H and the KBD Staff showed complete professionalism and were great to work with. Cathi in particular had excellent design ideas which were the key to our well functioning and beautiful final product. Multiple references told us we would be totally satisfied and it is true. Cathi suggested placing range in front of picture window instead of sink - its our favorite part of the space. She searched extensively for the products to achieve the look and design we wanted. Gabe who oversaw our project and all the contractors used were first rate.

I LOVED working with Kitchens by Design!! Kathy and Gabe were amazing to work with throughout the entire process. We met to discuss our kitchen project and instantly we knew they were the perfect fit. Kathy created a design that was exactly what we needed and managed to open our eyes to solutions to our storage issues. Once the design portion was complete, Gabe helped me make my final selections on finishes. He was extremely patient and supportive and kept me in the loop on every step of the process. Everyone who came on site was kind and respectful and left my house clean and orderly. I adore my kitchen and can't wait to work with Kitchens by Design again for my mudroom renovation.

From start to finish, working with Gabe and the KBD professionals was truly a wonderful experience. The attention to detail at every stage of our total kitchen redo coupled with the care and concern for our project and it's successful finish was exactly why we chose KBD. Recommendations from others matched what we found out - construction schedule was kept, contractors used excellent, and we were totally pleased with every aspect and will definitely call Gabe first when tackling bath redo in future. I had in mind a banquette I wanted created - they helped find fabric I imagined, had it custom made and kept original feel of galley kitchen yet made it light and airy. I asked to have cabinets and windows selected by them and love what was suggested. Needless to say... Super pleased!

Gabe was amazing and worked with us to develop the look we wanted while meeting our tight budget. The kitchen was a challenge given predetermined spatial relationships, doorways and the overall size. He helped us every step of the way to make sure each piece was thought out. It is a unique kitchen and we love it! Thanks Gabe!

Kitchens by Design was a tremendous help when we were designing our new kitchen. They helped with all aspects of kitchen and bathroom design including space planning, cabinetry, surfaces, and appliances. Their knowledge and expertise were key in allowing us to achieve our goals for functionality and design. They also worked with our builder to ensure that the installations were coordinated with the rest of the construction project. They also were able to complete the design and implementation work within the budgets that were established at the beginning of the project. In addition to the bathrooms and kitchen, they also designed a media cabinet for all the home theater equipment that is beautiful and functional. Highly recommended!

Kitchens By Design is one of the best in the business. They go above and beyond for their customers from beginning to end. They are honest - which goes a long way in the home improvement industry. They are worth every penny!

Cathi can design space wonderfully. Did an upstairs renovation with bathrooms/hall/ part of bedroom and extra closets. We then had her back to do our kitchen. Ultimate compliment!
