The Macik team custom built our entire dining room set. To say I am obsessed with the finished product is an understatement! It's been 6 months since our live edge table was completed and I am STILL hesitant to eat on it; it feels more like a piece of art than a functional dining room table. As much as I love the table, the shelving unit is my favorite piece. I can make the room look different every few months depending on how I decorate the shelves. The process was simple. We came prepared to them with concept ideas and story boards. They executed our vision to perfection and guided us the entire way. I thought my husband was meticulous but Orrin and his team give him a run for his money. They are extremely detail oriented, offer suggestions when asked, solutions when needed and easy to work with. I am looking forward to our next project together!

We found Macik Custom Woodworking & Contracting after speaking to several other contractors who did not inspire confidence. Our first interactions with Orrin made us feel comfortable and confident about the scope of work, cost and the design of our project. Our questions were answered quickly and our design objectives accommodated. The work was professional and precise and the results have transformed our kitchen. Attention to detail, design aesthetic and a careful and perfectionist approach are the ways in which I would characterize Macik Custom Wooodworking. After the completion of our kitchen cabinet remodel, we are looking forward to having Orrin and his team work on another project in the spring.

We selected Macik Custom Woodworking and Contracting for a kitchen renovation for our 27 year old home initially because of the reviews on Houzz. (Thank you Houzz!) From the first day we met Orrin to discuss the project we knew he was someone we could trust and who could handle a wide array of carpentry challenges. (We had met with various contractors over about a six year period but just didn’t find one who inspired confidence or truly understood our goals.) Almost as if it was meant to be, Orrin remembered working on our home when it was under construction in 1995. He provided us an initial estimate for tackling the project in three different ways- new doors for the cabinets, or totally new cabinets from a manufacturer, or custom cabinets made in his shop. We originally thought we would just have new cabinet doors made for each cabinet to keep the cost down, but Orrin was able to obtain a good price on a nice quality cabinet. Even the granite worker, who sees lots of cabinets, asked if these were custom cabinets. The scope of the project was more than I can explain here but Orrin was open to our requests for changes to his proposals and we went back and forth a few times until we settled on a plan. He acted as a general contractor and coordinated the work with plumbers, flooring teams, granite and tile installation…all well planned and done on schedule or sooner. We were so impressed with his attention to detail, cleanliness, knowledge and experience. It seems there isn’t much he cannot do! He and his staff were so pleasant to work with. We plan to use them again for more projects in the near future and have already given our highest recommendation to friends as well.

Orrin constructed built in cabinets and a fireplace mantle (that he designed!) at my old house! He did a beautiful job! When it was time for built in cabinets in my new house I knew who to call! He came out and we talked about the details. He built them in his shop (no mess here). He matched paint colors and had wood tone colors for the counter tops for me to choose. They look fabulous! On top of being very talented, Orrin did what he said he would do! He showed up, he gave me a time line and he met that time line! He was very communicative which I appreciate! I will definitely have him do more work in my home!

I called on Macik Woodworking to collaborate with a project that required custom wood design and a unique install and hanging system. The details are extensive and not necessarily noticeable in the photos, but the client was thrilled! It took a lot of planning, skill and effort to make the result appear effortless. Orrin and the folks at Macik Woodworking are masterful craftsmen, creative problem solvers, and great people to work with. We are extremely pleased with the way our project turned out. Orrin and his team were always on time,professional, and cleaned up at the end of each day. They did a fantastic job matching the stain and finish of the existing staircase. He took the time to fully understand exactly what we were trying to do with our A/V equipment so that he could determine the best placement for power outlets and speaker wire hubs.
