We used Maria and her team to renovate our Kitchen and Mudroom for our 1927 built home. The project was expansive and included moving the kitchen from its original location to a new location and creating another bedroom. We were impressed with the organization of her and her team, the level of communication and responsiveness to our questions/concerns, and respectfulness of all involved. The project followed the timeline that was set out at the start (a rarity these days!). We were able to live pretty comfortably in the house while the project was ongoing, which was something I wasn’t expecting. We are very happy with our new space and are excited to start planning our next project with Maria soon.

After doing a fabulous job on our kitchen renovation in March 2021, I engaged Maria to redecorate the adjacent formal dining room. We shopped for a new table, chairs with custom upholstery, chandelier and sideboards. Maria is a joy to shop with, she has a clear understanding of the style I was looking for and brought me to the correct stores. She also had her cabinet people design and build a custom console for a large wall. Even with the delivery delays resulting from the pandemic, all items were in place by Thanksgiving-including custom curtains, wallpaper, rug and wall art. Looks fabulous!!! Would recommend her for any decorating or renovation project!

Maria is amazing! She is very experienced, takes ownership of her work, and goes the extra mile to make sure your project comes out exactly as you wish. I love my new kitchen and my cabinets are gorgeous. I have done many construction projects in my house over the last 20 years, and this kitchen remodel went the smoothest.

It's going to be difficult not to exceed the word count here, but I'll do my best : ) I was originally referred to Maria Matluck by a friend and successful CT area architect, who spoke very highly of her. I contacted Maria and explained that I would like a complete makeover for my 1950's cape-style house. I told her I was a bit of a design wimp that needed hand-holding and she was very good-natured about it. I also explained that number one on my wish list was getting a master suite without losing any of the 3 bedrooms or guest bath. Maria designed a whole new floor plan which gave me all those rooms AND did so without the need for an addition (huge money-saving bonus!). She was basically the project manager for the entire remodel - she hired the contractors, worked with the wholesalers and retailers and always ran ideas and expenses by me first. Most importantly, when it came to the decor, she was completely honest with me when I made questionable choices or was too nervous to leave my too-comfy neutral zone. This made all the difference because my house looks amazing now. It's almost like a time warp seeing the outside of the house and then walking inside. The interior of the house looks newly built, modern and stylish. She guided me from fancy new doorknobs all the way through custom-built shower doors. And I ran out of words...Just call her, she's kind, creative and incredibly talented!!

I randomly found Maria by someone referring her on a Facebook Group, and I am SO happy I did! We hired Maria to design and manage a full reno of our master bathroom, and she was fantastic! She was professional, communicative, prompt and matched us with a wonderful GC. We are so happy with the final outcome and are grateful to Maria for her thoroughness and patience. While I was away I had a pipe burst in my home, the water was running non-stop for three days. Needless to say, the damage was extensive. I was overwhelmed at what I needed to do to repair this.....I hired Maria to come in and put my house back together again. Within a few weeks...she hired a well respected contractor, interviewed painters, sheetrock people, and insulation specialists. She provided pricing and a timeline that worked for me, within my budget and my schedule. Maria and her team handled all the details from start to finish...and I was able to concentrate on my work and family. Her great design sense coupled with her extensive project management skills made her a good fit for my needs. Most importantly, she gave me my home back and it was beautiful !!

We did an extension on our house which included renovation of our kitchen, powder room, family room, master bath, master bedroom, a utility room / gym and the kid's bathroom. As soon as the project launched, we realized we were way behind on materials selection, and we were extremely overwhelmed with all the decisions we needed to make from flooring, to countertops to tile to paint colors to lights to cabinet and door knobs. We partnered with Maria for her services to help us pick out materials, fixtures and furniture that would fit the spaces were were renovating. Maria was a dream to work with. She very quickly identified our style and was so helpful in identifying materials and colors that matched our preferences. Honestly without her help, we would still be struggling with making selections today - we can't recommend her services enough. Maria is personable, organized and extremely responsive and resourceful. For my part the best way I can describe Maria is that her ability to meld her expertise with an understanding of her client's tastes are impeccable, culminating in our final stretch of peak 'decision fatigue.' where we had so many (thoughtfully prepared by Maria) final choices where it was imperative for us to make up our minds (or incur cost overruns), and at that point one of would just inevitably say "Let's just ask Maria what she thinks?" and we would just go with whatever she said because she's awesome at what she does and knows us. This happened so many many times at the end, peaking on the night my wife and I sat down to watch Netflix, and when she asked what we should watch I just instinctively replied "Let's just ask Maria." Maria is great at what she does - and she saves you money as well with trade discounts, thoughtful spending and shopping around, and getting things done fast so that you are not a drag on your project.
