I was raised in Manhattan Beach where I grew up in homes custom built and designed by my parents. Visiting jobsites and marking up blueprints with my contractor father gave me my first taste of the design process. Today, I bring South Bay’s casual sophistication to homes across Southern California. Passionate about textiles and design, my goal is always to elevate the everyday into motivating spaces for my clients. Innovative, fun and inspiring are three of my favorite adjectives when it comes to home design. I work with both homeowners and developers to create personalized homes that are timeless yet current; with thoughtful layers that look and feel as though they’ve been collected over time. Focusing on clients’ culture, tastes and interests as well as the home’s architecture, I translate those influences into highly livable, visually stunning interiors. Kids, pets, sand and swimming pools inspire instead of limit my creative possibilities. I work primarily in the beach cities of Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, and travel for clients as needed. With a new showroom in Rancho Mirage, I'm excited to expand my Firm to the Greater Palm Desert area. As a former luxury design specialist for House Beautiful and Modern Luxury Interiors California magazines, I decided to bring that knowledge and passion to interior design and founded MC Design in 2007. Home is in Lower Lunada Bay in Palos Verdes Estates with my husband and two Chihuahuas. I’m a firm believer in cocktail hour(s) and beautifully organized spaces. It is with great pleasure that I write this review for MC Design. Megan is an exceptional interior designer who is passionate and extremely imaginative. Our relationship began when our contractor highly recommended her to design our new home. From the very first meeting we instantly liked her (her personality is contagious) and knew we would work well together. Megan’s brilliant vision for our new home far exceeded our expectations! We could not have been more thrilled with her work. Her design is fresh, innovative, playful, thoughtful, cohesive and she brought up ideas that I hadn’t thought of. Her team is professional to a fault, punctual, responsive and quick on their feet. The project consisted of choosing new wall colors and paper, artwork, carpets, fixtures, window treatments, doors, new pieces of furniture in every room, and much much more. Megan demonstrated an impressive level of expertise and professionalism throughout the entire process. In addition, she was FUN (yes, fun!) to work with…that was the cherry on top. We are so happy with the outcome and can’t wait to welcome our friends and family into our beautiful new home. Megan was totally on top of everything throughout this renovation. Providing good sound advice and offering lots of options, she made the process painless. She even brought all the samples to the house so I didn't have to run around to vendors. Her contractors all did high quality work, and the result was better than I expected. I would recommend MC Design to anyone. This was a kitchen facelift.

Megan is incredible, she listens yet guides in a way that allows me to see the best decision for my house to be the best it can be. When everyone is doing trends, Megan understands classic elegance and timeless style. Not all homes need to be grey and white farmhouse. My particular home is an English manor Tudor estate and Megan has been brilliant at helping me complete redo this home by updating and renovating with timeless elegance that will last. *** Let go and let Megan *** I had a master bedroom project that was spinning in its wheels and going nowhere before Megan took over. She came over, made some simple and classy design choices, and now my room looks Fantastic!!! The money and time saved of letting go and letting Megan was the right choice. Megan recently remodeled 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the upstairs of my home. First, let me say, Megan is a ton of fun and always shows up with a positive energy. Add that to her home decorating skills and you have the key to a successful project. I am thrilled with the end result. I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted, other than to remove the carpet and install hardwood floors. So that is where we started. From there, Megan helped create a traditional/coastal theme, old house meets beach house. I absolutely love it! Dark hardwood floors, white walls, and lots of color in the furniture and accessories. The look is new and fresh and inviting. I feel like I am on vacation when I enter my bedroom, relaxed and content. Megan worked with the hardwood floor installers and the painters to ensure a smooth process. She held them accountable for getting the job done right with high quality work and on schedule, which I really appreciate! She and her team picked out the perfect furniture and accessories to bring it all together. Megan was always prompt and professional. I love the way she visualizes ideas and then brings it all to life. I highly recommend Megan and her team to anyone that is looking for high quality work. She did a stellar job for me!

We hired MC Design to remodel our doctors' offices twice over the past several years. Megan did such a great job that we hired her to do a remodel of our home. She managed every aspect of the project, from design concept to purchasing everything. She hired professional, quality contractors and coordinated everything in a timely manner, causing us very minimal inconvenience. We highly recommend her for jobs of any size

I consulted with Megan with MC Design to assist me in redoing my outside patio area. It is a rather large area so there were several lounge chairs as well as chairs around a large table, a barbecue area and also a bench seat around a fire ring. I had been looking at fabric but Megan's expertise helped me pull it all together. I would not have thought to use a different fabric for piping as well a different fabric for the sides of the chairs. Everything ties in so beautifully with the fabric on the awning and the patio looks amazing. I have received so many compliments on the coordination of the fabrics. Additionally, I was in the process of redoing my kitchen cabinets and Megan helped guide me on paint colors. So now my kitchen also looks amazing and the lighter color on the cabinets really opens up the kitchen and goes great with the painting on the walls. She is extremely efficient at getting things done and I would highly recommend her services!
