McKay Architecture & Design (MA/D) is an architecture firm providing modern and contemporary design for all phases of a project from start to completion. We provide a range of services, including initial design development, interior design, and full architectural services, and we possess extensive hands-on experience with all phases of design and building. We bring the highest degree of precision and attention to detail to every job. Utilizing the latest technology, while simultaneously respecting architecture history, allows us to remain flexible in our approach and execution of processes, techniques, and design. The diversity of our multicultural staff allows us to achieve a varied and collaborative approach to design, allows us to better serve the needs and desires of our clients. One of the most important aspects of our architectural design process is working closely with you every step of the way. Additionally, our connections with various contractors, subcontractors, and other architects ensure successful and timely project completion. Born in Boston, owner and founder Thomas McKay received his BFA/BA degree at Rhode Island School of Design in 1984 and a Master’s Degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in 1993. He worked internationally with Antonio Citterio and Partners in Milano, as well as formed MSM Architects with Kimberly Sheppard and Charles Mallea. In January 2003 he formed his own architectural design firm, McKay Architecture/Design PLLC, to further develop his research in architecture, interior, and product design. McKay has been a professor in the Product Design Department at Parsons School of Design since 1999. He has lectured on his company’s projects and design approach at Parsons, to private companies, and the Retail Design Institute.
