After working with McNair in 2021, we called on her once again to help us refine the living spaces in our new home (in Texas!). She collaborated with us virtually and on site to rethink room layouts with both existing and new furniture pieces. Her help was invaluable as we purchased new furniture, streamlining the time spent shopping by making appointments, previewing selections, and validating measurements before we arrived. In addition, she also helped us envision and tweak the decor on our walls and shelves. We love the results and highly recommend McNair for staging and design!!!

From the moment we met McNair Bishop, the principal of Room by Room Staging and Design, we knew we were in great hands, to help us prepare and stage our home for sale. She is the epitome of balance, between head and heart, the practical, business end of showing off our 8,000 square foot, Craftsman design home, in which we have lived and thrived for over twenty years, coupled with the innate sensitivity for homeowners who also have an emotional investment in their dwelling. Her initial interview with us began with establishing our relationship with each other and her professional expertise, together with an appreciation of her skills, knowledge, and experience in making our home pop! We have semi-moved to our new condominium in Florida, but spend every two to three months in Great Falls; and needed to preserve our part-time living accommodations in Virginia, while preparing it for sale. McNair worked closely with us, identifying key pieces of furniture that we required as a part-time abode, and planning how best to incorporate them into a comprehensive, overall presentation strategy. That meant not only preserving some major pieces for the staging (including a Steinway baby grand piano, and an office filled with traditional rosewood bookcases and furniture), but also jettisoning unnecessary, redundant or inappropriate pieces that, while we were quite comfortable with them, in actuality, were detrimental to the total "feel." She was gentle but firm in carrying out her philosophy that we were staging the home to highlight its architectural features, rather than the furniture and accessories; that we were appealing to the potential buyer, rather than us, the current owners. Having laid out a strategy and a plan for clearing, repurposing, and augmenting, we left for Florida while the actual staging took place. When we saw the home on the internet, we were pleasantly shocked, to see how McNair had accomplished her goals, effectively, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. And in everything she has done, she has kept us informed, and has maintained that level of sensitivity for us who are leaving. Without a doubt, we recommend McNair Bishop, and Room by Room Staging and Design, without any reservation.

A belated shout-out to McNair & Room by Room for their help in getting our Fairfax house sold on the first (July 4th) weekend for above asking price! After a week of thinning out our stuff from 20+ yrs in a 5 BR house, McNair & our realtor Carol did a walkabout and planned their 'staging' operation! The next weekend, as I moved the last of my 'stuff' out to storage, McNair started to load her stuff in... and began "shopping" our house for some pieces & fotos to enhance its beauty! I was reluctant to use a 'stager,' and clearly I was wrong! The redecorated house, with swapping of mirrors & art & some chairs, looked like it was ready for an Architectural Digest photoshoot!! My wife was so pleased we both were asking if she could decorate our new beach house!! The sale fotos were great, we had about 8-9 house viewings on Sat/Sun, and were receiving offers on Monday, which we accepted above asking price! I will HIGHLY recommend this Room by Room design team to my old Fairfax neighbors & use a stager in the future! Thank you, McNair, you did a fantastic job!

We were not sure of the value of staging our home in Great Falls but McNair and Ginger proved us very wrong. They were highly professional, extremely knowledgeable of the market and wonderful to work with throughout the process. Their simple touches made a significant difference and the decluttering advice was spot on. We would highly recommend them for any form of interior decorating advice. Room By Room staged my home prior to putting it on the market in April of 2022. They were extremely professional, and I was very pleased with the presentation of my home. My house sold quickly, and the buyers even inquired about some of the lovely pieces that McNair used during staging. McNair has a great eye for detail and for defining the purpose of each space. Our stately Jeffersonian style home was tastefully decorated in keeping with the style of the house, but after a year on the market we were in need of a new marketing strategy. Despite its outstanding condition, our bespoke style might have dissuaded potential buyers. We needed a new direction. We sought out Room by Room Staging and Design. McNair came in for a consultation to discuss best approaches to better align with market expectations. She educated us on what today’s buyers are looking for and how to help them envision themselves in our home. We did not need to eliminate all of the architectural character and decor aesthetics, we just needed to incorporate contemporary and neutral design styles into a cohesive look and feel. McNair’s rebranding gave our home with an entirely new look while using many of our own pieces. The changes included changing wall color, rearranging current and incorporating new furnishings, and choosing key lighting and artwork. Her staging is not cookie-cutter. She seamlessly blended some of our most beautiful pieces and architectural home features with a clean style and design to attract a lot of viewers. All of the work put into these changes resulted in Pinterest-worthy photos and helped generate a full-price offer within a week. McNair’s proposal, pricing, and execution process was straightforward and expedient. We cannot recommend Room by Room Staging and Design enough! We credit her rebranding of our house to the dramatically different turnaround time between listing, viewings, and offers. She is trustworthy, professional, and takes great care to honor considerations of her clients and respect their home in the transitional process of listing and selling a home.

Very detailed stager. Really nice and polite. She works with you and will even give you tips on how to stage your new home! Her staging was phenomenal. Used small and easy items to pop each room.

McNair was absolutely the best. I’ve never had my house staged before but she’s worth every penny. She made my house look like a model home and the pictures turned out great. She was patient and was very responsive to our inquiries. Highly recommended. Five stars.

McNair did an excellent job with getting our house ready for pictures and showing! She and her team were quick, professional, and adapted to the current set of challenges (we were still living in the house with our dogs and children) easily. I would 100% recomend!!!
