An unusual large side yard was made useful thanks to Mom’s Design and Build. It took them 6 days to transform a weeded grassland into a picture perfect Japanese Garden. It has a rock path, a gorgeous patio and many sitting rocks. And the trees and plants are glorious. The team was very professional and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this wonderful company.

We had Mom's design and build our backyard retreat, complete with a complete outdoor kitchen and bar with pizza oven, pergola, fireplace, gas fire pit, putting green, chipping spot with landing green, and landscaping. Mom's also redid our 3 season porch and built a staircase to get down to the backyard from the main floor of our house. They did a great job and the pictures speak for themselves. We started the project back in the summer of 2016 and then did it in three main phases, starting with the fireplace and then going from there. The pergola came last since at first I didn't think I wanted one, but I later discovered that it was vital to deal with the heat and rain, which can otherwise dampen a party. I highly recommend Mom's for their artistic capabilities and for their follow-on commitment. We've had a few minor issues since completing the work and Mom's has been superb in making sure that everything is the way it should be. You generally don't find contractors who are so willing to make things right, but at least for us Mom's excelled in that area.

Our most recent experience with Mom’s Design Build involved a major spring clean-up plus the replacement of a tree and warranty work involving a retaining wall. The designer who planned our original landscaping design consulted with us on picking a tree that would fit well into the current space. The maintenance crew did a great job getting our property ready for summer and the guys who worked on the retaining wall did a good job diagnosing the problem and finding a solution. We have been very happy with our collaboration with Mom’s over the past five years and look forward to working with them in the future.

Moms Design Build transformed our back patio space. Our new patio more than doubled our entertaining space. We now have a beautiful blue stone patio and some low buckskin retaining walls built into our hill to allow for a fountain. We added a pergola on one half of the patio which has a lovely swooped retractable shade to provide UV protection. The pergola design, selection of stone, and plantings are beautiful. Neighbors and friends refer to our patio as a mini arboretum! We even love just looking out the windows at our peaceful, sophisticated new space!

Our first project with Mom's Landscaping and Design was a total backyard redo in 2007 with a swimming pool, pond, fire pit and fireplace, new deck, and beautiful landscaping. Mom's has provided pond maintenance for us since then. We have been extremely happy with the results of this project. We spend a lot of time enjoying the space and consistently receive compliments from visitors. In 2014 Mom's landscaped the front of our house, with beautiful new plantings, a boulder bubbler, a front entry walk with stone pavers and a stone paver driveway apron. Mom's also improved our site drainage with the addition of gutters and downspouts directing water runoff into an underground tile system which discharges away from the house. Throughout the years we've turned to Mom's for on-going outdoor needs, such as tree replacement and arborist services. We value their advice and never feel that they push too hard to sell their services. This year Mom's even did our Christmas decorations. After meeting with a few other landscapers in 2007, we're glad we chose Mom's. They are consistently professional, fun, clean, courteous, visionary, and excellent communicators.

Heather and her team at Mom's Landscaping did a fantastic job. This was the third time around trying to create a dog friendly environment with a charming cottage feel. They did exactly this. We installed artificial turf in the backyard which was extremely dog friendly however with clever natural plantings that made the artificial turf seem very natural. The front landscaping was exactly the cottage feel that I was hoping for. I have never received so many compliments on my landscaping. Leah and team from the garden maintenance side of Mom's maintained the beautiful landscaping throughout the season.

As a result of our neighbor's positive comments using Mom's Landscaping for their deck and patio projects, we decided to choose Mom's to completely refresh our front landscaping. Becoming more excited by the landscape suggestions, we decided to add a new driveway with a patio paver apron and sidewalk. By adding bluestone to our front steps with decorative risers, our 1999 home looks fresh and new. Mom's offered excellent recommendations while listing to our suggestions. The project was completed on time, the crew was respectful and made sure the project area was clean at the end of the day. We highly recommend Mom's Landscaping for your next landscape project. Moms landscaping did a paver /patio project for me recently. The project turned out great and Craig was very helpful and resource full in the design and construction. His crew had been with him 17 years and were perfectionists in laying the pavers. They completed the job in short order and spend a lot of time cleaning up after the project was over. Creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail were the reasons Charlson Meadows looked to Mom's for our landscaping needs. Becca Bastyr understood our mission of providing outdoor spaces that nurture and inspire. She worked her magic during the design stage and remained fully engaged during construction. Becca is incredibly talented and saw things we couldn't imagine. My favorite element is the use of gas lanterns throughout the property. They provide a soft glow in the evening and cheer you on a cloudy day. Or maybe it's the plantings themselves. In season, it seems something is always blooming. The basalt columns and stonework are exquisite. We love the sound of the aspens, watching the rain flow through the rain chains, and are grateful for conversations that happen as people gather around the cozy fire pit. Mom's Landscaping connected our guests with nature and their surroundings. The entire company is a joy to work with - from the early design stage through completion, and now with our weekly seasonal maintenance. We highly recommend Mom's to anyone who asks and welcome an opportunity to work with them on future projects.

We worked with Heather & Jim and their team who created an beautiful backyard for our new home, which was the 2015 ASID MN Showcase Home. It was a very complex project which needed to be completed in an accelerated timeline and their team delivered an amazing result. The space truly reflects our style, right down to incorporating mini palm trees (in MN!) into our preference for a "Caribbean style" backyard. They also worked with us to help find unique outdoor furnishings (a large circular bed swing) and other items such an in-ground trampoline for our gymnast daughter. After the project was completed, they followed up with us to make sure we had everything we needed to use, care for and winterize the backyard. We are so pleased with their services that we will continue to work with them for yard maintenance and holiday decorating as well. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high-caliber landscaper to create a wonderful outdoor space.

We hired Mom's to do a complete overhaul of our outdoor landscaping and they did an amazing job. Some of the things included in our project were an outdoor kitchen with pergola, a fireplace, and a front sitting area with fountain. Not only is their workmanship top notch but their customer service is unparalleled. I worked with Becca Bastyr who was our designer and she was available whenever I needed her. I'd usually get a response within the hour to a question. In fact if it took an hour that would be unusually long. She and her team have an excellent attitude and are ready to tackle any challenge thrown at them.

Four Mom's projects received NARI-MN CotY Awards for excellence in design and construction: Taunton, Casby, Grieve and Andersen (all featured on Houzz). Mom's earned so many NARI awards at the annual gala, it was named Best Newcomer. A few weeks later, the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association gave Mom's two 2016 Landscape Awards for its Andersen and Lacek projects. Well deserved.

As a Master Gardener, I was delighted to work with Mom's designer and appreciated the professional work done by the landscapers. I'm not always ready to listen to recommendations, but working with Becca was easy. She listened to me, knew what I wanted, and provided great advice as well as a wonderful design. Better yet, the plants and trees thrived during an incredibly cold winter, and the "upkeep" was minimal; both more important to me as each birthday goes by! The backyard design required some movement of heavy equipment to bring in block and stone. The work was done quickly, and any repair to the sod or gardens was done immediately and perfectly. We had a great experience working with Mom's Landscaping and Design. They integrated natural stone stairs and paths into our existing retaining wall hill side. The area is now functional and beautiful! We needed the project completed before the ground froze and they worked to get the design and construction completed on time. Jim Sweeney and his uber talented design staff have the ability to reimagine a space elevating its beauty and use far beyond what a client might have considered. Unlike many companies in their field, they consider the entire landscape (including the face of the house itself) as the canvas for a project. They incorporate innovative techniques and equipment I never knew were available. I'm an architectural photographer who has had the privilege to shoot several of their projects.

Bob Wallace and his team at Mom's Landscaping did a wonderful job on our backyard remodel project. We met with Bob and described what we were looking for to improve our backyard space and make it much more enjoyable. Bob and his team went way beyond to provide us with exactly what we wanted and more. Bob was always there to help trouble shoot if needed too as we are both busy professionals. We now have this amazing and beautiful backyard where we can enjoy our stone fireplace and outdoor grill/eating area. We've gotten many compliments from firends and passersby about our outdoor space.
