Buying a new house isn’t like buying a new car with these people. The assumption is when you buy a new house you will have small problems and shouldn’t have any big problems for several years. Not our case—2.5 years in the problems keep getting bigger. The first year when we had a problem they were fairly responsive usually took 2 emails to respond. First year we had leaky kitchen sink, upstairs A/C had to much Freon, then it didn’t have enough, leaking roof in master bedroom, then a leaking roof in the master bedroom closet, then we had mold in our master shower (didn’t properly waterproof before tile installed), and grout fell out of tile around fire place. Then in the second year we had huge bulge show up in our yard under the grass where a field line had backed up and exploded pumping water into the ground. After no response we called in a septic tank company to come in and dig our yard up and replace a crossover between the field lines. Never got a response from NewCastle. At 2.5 years, septic field lines backed up we had the field lines leaking again and push water to the surface after investigating we found that the irrigation contractor they used had trenched through the crossover lines causing the first few field lines to become saturated and force liquids to the surface. Then the septic grinder pump went out and had to be replaced shortly after that. 2 months after this, we found our A/C unit upstairs was not working again after calling the company who performs our yearly service the compressor had gone out. Turns out, prior to charging the system the initial installers did not pull a vacuum on the lines and trash got in our compressor causing it to fail. I would not buy from Newcastle again. The dog and pony show on the front side has faded quickly, problems we thought we would see 10-20 years down the road have arrived much sooner.
