We had Nicolette come to our home as we had been in our home for 20 years and we were ready for an update. Nicolette came to our home and took several pictures, and we spent a significant amount of time discussing the things that weren't working for us in our home. The home was built in 1989 and was complete with a sunken family room, no lights and no storage. Not to mention our kitchen was small and not functional. We were using our dining room as home office and quite honestly it was mess. After a few weeks Nicolette came back to us with 8 different floor plans in 3D designs so we could see the possibilities for our transformation. We couldn't believe our eyes. Was it really possible that our home could become functional yet stunning at the same time? After we settled on a design Nicolette spent ENDLESS hours making sure no detail was overlooked. She assisted us on a shopping trip to pick out new furniture. She came to the store with our floor plans and her measurements to ensure everything would fit into our new space. Nicolette used our old dining room as our new kitchen complete with lots of storage. Our old kitchen was turned into a beautiful entertainment bar with a huge island for entertaining. Our home is really a dream come true thanks to Nicolette!

Nicolette is a consummate professional. She is devoted to her craft and clients, has a great eye, and is VERY gifted in maximizing space. Nicolette is very communicative and is great at aligning and collaborating with her clients in creating beautiful living spaces. She is highly organized and has an effective process for coming up with the just the right blend of form and function and is completely devoted to making sure her clients achieve the look they are going for in a consultative manner. Nicolette is very good at setting proper expectations throughout the process as well - a rare skill these days. We loved working with Nicolette and will likely re-engage with her for another space renovation in the near future. My wife and I highly recommend her!

Nicolette transformed our kitchen and home in ways we never imagined possible! Backstory: we have 3 little kids and felt cramped in our home the way it was designed. We love our neighborhood and our location so moving wasn't something we were looking to do. We needed the storage and the room to grow. Plus, our kitchen was far too dark -especially on dreary Seattle days! Before contacting Nicolette, we had already decided we were going to remodel the entire downstairs of our home including new flooring, doors, trim & paint. We needed to update the laundry room, fireplace/family room, living room, dining room & kitchen. Lastly we were going to open up the drywall on the stairs and add ballisters and a railing. In short....this was a huge undertaking and we needed a professional! The moment we met with Nicolette, we loved her energy & excitement for her work. Her passion for design was clear. We loved the flexibility she offered to us in our design choices as well. Initially, she presented us with several varying options and we whittled it down from there to create the design that would work functionally for our family as well as be a beautiful design for many many years to come. She was great to work with - super responsive, flexible, creative, and she worked tirelessly to make sure everything was going to end up exactly as we wanted. The whole experience was positive and we so appreciated her opinions, ideas & dedication to the success of our project! Because of her designs, we took a few more risks than we would have as we were able to see how these would fit seamlessly into the overall flow of the home and I'm so glad we did! Nicolette has a trusted team of contractors that she recommended to us as well who were professional, kind, diligent, and quick! After two months, the whole downstairs of our home had been transformed and we couldn't be happier with our home and how the project went from start to finish. 10/10 would recommend Nicolette. She's fantastic. I will always happily be a reference for her.

Nicolette provided exceptional design services for my master bathroom renovation. Despite the challenging layout, Nicolette was able to present us with 7 viable solutions and ultimately helped us choose the perfect one. She was an excellent communicator throughout the entire process, she was very considerate of our budget and timeline. She presented us with a range of options at different price points, and worked with us to find cost-effective solutions that still met our design goals. She also worked hard to ensure that our personal design ideas were integrated into the final product. She actively listened to our needs and preferences and made adjustments to the design accordingly, resulting in a customized bathroom that perfectly met our needs. She was very involved in the demo and rebuilding of our bathroom and would visit us several times. This personalized approach, combined with Nicolette's exceptional design skills, made the entire renovation process both enjoyable and stress-free. Nicolette Bouw and her company, NIBIO LLC, were a pleasure to work with when we decided it was finally time to renovate our dark and dreary master bathroom. Nicolette offered creative, outside-the-box thinking and enough energy to power a small town! She accommodated our busy schedules when it came to meetings and was excellent at communicating and trouble-shooting when we hit a couple of snags. For example, our project got delayed multiple times due to the pandemic, but she was great at keeping us informed and figuring out next steps even when we were in a holding pattern. The end product is exactly what we envisioned in the space: a fresh, spacious, decluttered bathroom with tons of light, exotic tiles, organic colors, and a brand-new linen closet hidden by a barn door - great for all those bathroom items you need to stash. We could not be more pleased with the experience of working with Nicolette and would book her again for a project of any size. Highly recommended!

We are so happy with our new industrial kitchen! Working with Nicolette every step of the way was such fun. At the beginning of the project, Nicolette visited our home and got to know us, our needs, and our space. Her design process was iterative and we went through multiple options for layout, materials, and appliances. Nicolette presented us with a large variety of ideas for the kitchen design, which made it easier for us to think outside of the constraints of the old kitchen. Nicolette is very organized and she sent ideas about various options in nice summary documents. We went back to these documents many times as we researched materials and appliances. It was important to us to support local businesses and artisans as part of this project, and Nicolette found a local metal fabricator who created a beautiful custom island support table for our kitchen. Nicolette truly went above and beyond, and we are so glad that we worked with her!

We initially connected with Nicolette via referral from a friend who had completed a project with her. From our initial conversation, Nicolette was extremely encouraging (we had a small surface but ambitious plans to extend our kitchen and somehow fit in a new bathroom!) and really listened to all of our ideas. We met with Nicolette several times to discuss ideas, iterating on them and figuring out what was feasible, would add value while really fitting in our space. We had various ideas that implied very different layouts, different uses of the space, which Nicolette embraced with enthusiasm and was able to translate into different designs. After several meetings, Nicolette presented us with close to 10 design ideas that helped us visualize the various options and really helped us think through the pros and cons of each of the designs. We had pretty much constant communication in between physical meetings to share ideas around colors, material, cabinets, hardware, etc. Nicolette is well connected to various shops and showrooms that sell high quality products (Kitchen, flooring, etc) and accompanied us in those visits/selections and always worked with us to incorporate our ideas and preferences. She also worked her magic to locate the places where I could find some of the products I liked and somehow located the shop which produced my dream kitchen tiles! As the work progressed, Nicolette continued to provide her expertise and advice, things don't always go as planned in a remodel and we hit a couple of challenges due to the structure of the house but she always remained positive and worked with all of it to adapt the design as needed. We now have our dream kitchen, as well as a beautiful new bathroom. Looking at the before and after pictures, I am still scratching my head wondering how this happened and how we managed to keep the integrity of the house (we loved it before, we love it even more now) but that is the Nicolette touch :) The design is wholesome, unique (feels like "us" vs. mainstream kitchen design) and highly functional. It was a pleasure working with Nicolette and I highly recommend her as a designer - I would work with her again.

I'd give Nicolette 10 stars if I could! Besides being a delightful person to work with, she listened to me and advocated for me throughout the process. She had great vision for the project and thought of things I never would have on my own. Starting with the design work, she provided several options that fit my wish list and was happy to move ahead with my choice. She didn't try to talk me into some popular options (like a stand alone tub) that I didn't prefer. She made sure that the design would work for my disabled husband. I told her I'd be overwhelmed with too many tile choices, so she did the legwork and brought a reasonable number of tile options for me to consider. I met with her at the cabinet and countertop businesses to choose from their selections, and it was clear that she had a great working relationship with them. She provided the construction crew with very complete and detailed instructions, which I know they appreciated. The construction company wanted me to buy the sinks, toilet, tub, and the bathroom hardware myself, and Nicolette provided great recommendations for each item. When the shower door they ordered didn't work, she was the one who went online to find a good replacement, even though she had already been paid in full. She saw it through to the very last touch up. I couldn't be happier with the result! And I whole-heartedly recommend NIBO/Nicolette!

I am a home remodeler / DIy person and I have remodeled several houses. One thing I have found, over many remodels, is having someone to work with on the design and big picture is a huge benefit. We hired Nicolette in 2020 after working through home centers designs, cabinet company designs and a bunch of our own designs. None of them felt right for our project. Browsing through Houzz, much like others, I stumbled on Nicolette and Nibio. My wife and I met her and after our initial meeting, we had a good feeling. We went ahead and hired her to get us where we wanted to be. All I can say is we got a kitchen that is way better than my wildest dream. Nicolette pushed us a bit, but I am so glad she did. Just to walk through the process after our initial meeting. Nicolette showed up at our house and took a ton of measurements. We talked about ideas, but very general ideas. She left and came back a couple of weeks later with 5 completely different designs. She lugged in a giant computer and story boards for us to look at. She showed us the designs in 3 D, from super simple to exceedingly complex, which was great, because it showed what was possible. We picked parts and pieces from three of the designs that we liked. Nicolette then did her magic and came back a couple of weeks later with the plan, and we were ready to go. We went to the cabinet company that Nicolette works with to start our cabinet design, then bam Covid hits and everything shuts down. We hadn’t done much, so we decided to wait until the following year. Nicolette kept in touch and we went for it at the end of April 2021. Our remodel was a down to the studs of a kitchen, dining room and living room. It included vaulting our ceiling in a section to match our existing. I managed sub-contractors who completed the project, but I ended up using some of Nicolette’s contacts as well. The thing that was really nice was I had someone to bounce changes off of, and over the year long Covid wait, we made several. When the kitchen was finished, it really turned into a dream kitchen / dining room and family room. We were super happy that we hired Nibio, and I am sure that we wouldn’t have what we have now without her. After being in the kitchen for several months now, there is nothing that I would change or do differently (that is rare for me, as I always think about different ways that I could have done something). I can 100% say that hiring Nicolette was a great decision and would recommend her to anyone.

Nicolette met with us for a VIP Design Day and exceeded our expectations!! We did not want to completely remodel, but wanted to upgrade our house and she was amazing with ideas and suggestions for our kitchen and master bathroom. We can upgrade our kitchen by simply painting our cabinets and adding new hardware, but keep our countertops and backsplash, and add new paint color on our walls! In our Master Bathroom, we will be adding a new higher vanity, new mirrors, lighting, floor tiles, and barn doors for our closet and master bathroom. And new paint throughout with a couple accent walls that will brighten the interior of our house!! NIcolette has a vibrant personality and is so fun to collaborate with on ideas for your home!!

Where to start? Nicolette is a true professional and talented beyond words. We hired NIBIO LLC for a VIP Day experience - and by the end of the day, our family had an entire roadmap on how to transform our aging rambler into our dream home. From flooring recommendations, to bathroom remodel options, garage door options, best colors for the home and how to best utilize small spaces - she tackled it all! Hiring Nicolette again to consult on our kitchen refresh - I won't embark on any project moving forward without her expert eyes!

We were blown away by Nicolette from the first phone call to the first meeting. Her professionalism and her energy is contagious. Nicolette knows exactly when to engage and when to pull back. We hired her for our basement remodel, and the ideas kept on coming. The first time she presented all her drawings was amazing, her creativity and her level to detail are exceptional. She thought of everything! We could visualize right away what our space would look like (she had made us these large mood boards), and then when she turned on her computer, we could even walk in our own space. Little did I know that we would have more of these detailed sessions with her. None of our questions were ever discarded, she was our partner in this process. We are beyond happy with the final design, full of creativity, moving walls, creating new spaces, and giving us more than expected. She is truly a magician when it comes to small and weird spaces.

I have been photographing her after projects for the past few years and I am always so amazed at what she creates! She is also a joy to work with, full of personality and character. Nicolette was an incredibly helpful resource in creating plans to remodel our kitchen and bathroom. Nicolette's enthusiasm made working with her a joyful experience. We also appreciated her organization and communication along the way. We started with a 3 hour home visit and were impressed by the ideas and solutions to challenging spaces and layouts that she thought of on the spot and took the time to draw in the moment. After the three hours, we walked away with specific ideas drawn onto our existing plans and felt really excited! We decided to ask Nicolette to continue helping with the design process in more detail. She brought up many things that we had not thought of and we really appreciated her feedback. Seeing her digital renderings of different design ideas was so helpful in our decision making.

I am so please with my experience working with Nicolette. She is a creative and bold designer. She is also a warm person and responsive communicator. She listened to my goals and preferences, but still pushed me (lightly) to consider more stylish and interesting options. I really appreciated how she cut down the option overload and gave me a smaller number of more interesting choices. She looked for cost savings for me at every turn, while still suggesting bigger expenditures where it made the biggest difference. She worked seamlessly with the contractor (her recommendation) and that made the entire project go more smoothly. In fact, she often bridged-the-gap and helped me stay on-track when I owed the contractor a decision. She has a great attention to detail and process for communicating it – I love how she used phone pictures and notes throughout the project to drive clarity with me and the contractor. I cannot glow enough about her work.

I did a complete remodel inside turning a late 1979’s tri-level into my dream “Fixer Upper” modern farmhouse and there is no way I could have done it without Nicolette. She was so incredibly organized and insightful. I would highly recommend her!

On 10/17/19 I was referred to Nicolette Bouw of NIBIO. My husband and I had gone through a drastic downsizing and I felt stuck and overwhelmed. The interiors of my house reflected that. Nicolette has been a God send. Our first appointment was a VIP day, which is an intense day of problem solving, designing and reorganizing. From that initial appointment we have been going room by room creating a serene home. This little house is also "grand central" for our business. Nicolette designed beautiful storage that hides a vast amount of paper work and allows me to have a guest room and office in one small space. I serendipitously stumbled upon The Dutch Designer NIBIO (Nicolette) after viewing her portfolio online. My primary objective was a full scale kitchen remodel. However upon our first meeting, Nicolette really listened to our needs, concerns & desires for our busy family of 4 that went beyond a kitchen remodel. She asked many thoughtful questions to help us think about maximum family flow, efficiency space & style. After a few weeks, she returned to unveil her 4-5 design options for us to consider. Nicolette is a wonderfully talented, conscientious & empathetic designer & she presented various designs to suit our entire family’s wishlist and that was not an easy task. Embarking on a home improvement project is quite daunting & a major investment. And what I’ve come to learn is having a talented & trusted designer is a VITAL component for optimal success. Because we felt we were in such good hands with NIBIO, we expanded the scope of our project from initial kitchen remodel to basically a main floor remodel, which also included a family mudroom space in our garage. This remodel has not only increased the financial value of our home BUT more importantly it has changed how our family spends time & interact in our new beautiful space. Our old space was constricting, confided & cluttered. The new space is open, inviting, beautiful & efficient for our family’s busy flow. NIBIO is now our in-house designer for future projects in 2020 & beyond!

Our home needs a whole design makeover....everything in the living room is dark grey, the upstairs bathroom has bright blue walls, and the upstairs hallway is beige... it just doesn't go together. We were looking for some guidance on how to tie everything together with some design tips and how to make the house more functional for our daily life. Nicolette is AMAZING, we accomplished WAY more than I thought possible! She was so incredibly helpful and is so creative on the spot that we tackled the whole house (2300sq ft) during our VIP session. You can tell she has a lot of experience since she has a solution for everything :). For each room, we went over possible layout designs, furniture and curtain colors, paint colors, fixture ideas, so many cost saving tips, how to extend our kitchen dining area to be able to turn our dining room into an office and much much more. She also sent me so many product links and ideas to help guide us in keeping the house flow together, but not be all so uniform. I cannot recommend her enough! My mind has been going a million miles a minute since our consultation with her, in excitement from all the wonderful ideas she gave us and got us on track to turn our house into our dream home.

Even though I had a tiny budget, Nicolette responded to my inquiry promptly and with such warmth that I almost forgot that most of her work is high-end and big-budget. She worked enthusiastically and never once made me feel like my budget was a limitation. We met for a full day and I'm still amazed at how much we got done in that time. I showed her the entire house and, although we focussed on the main living area, she gave me tons of ideas for organization and updating for almost every room. By the end of the day, I had a comprehensive plan for my home including paint colors, specific furniture (where to place it/how to use it) and lighting. After our session was over Nicolette was still available to answer questions about window coverings and light fixtures and has checked in on my progress. I contacted Nicollete for help with a space plan in an oddly shaped master bathroom/closet configuration. I saw some of her designs online and was impressed with her work. She responded to my request promptly, gave me a reasonable quote for our project, and came up with an amazing design (several actually) for our master bath! My husband was reluctant at first to hire a designer, but he was so excited with her work that he texted our contractor that same day to get started. I would love to work with Nicollete again!

Nicollete was professional and energetic throughout the project. She was quick with new ideas and flexible when we changed our minds. She always provided lots of visual aids and multiple designs to choose from.

Our kitchen remodel was at least 8 years in the making. As the appliances slowly failed, and the cabinets and counters showed their age and became more and more dated, one thing held us back: The Design. "He" would come up with one 3D computer modeled concept after another, and "She" would worry if any of them would really work, and even if they did, what about the details that would make it a delight to see and cook in. "We" went to multiple home shows and talked to many designers. In Nicolette we finally found the right balance: someone that would both listen and incorporate our tastes and the vision of what we wanted, along with providing fresh ideas, design sense, and reassuring and gentle guidance (and a rare firm hand) from start to finish to ensure the final result was truly wonderful. Nicolette came up with several different design options, and paid special attention to making the most efficient and creative use of the space available. She also brought a large computer screen with her to show us her highly detailed 3D design rendering, making it much easier to see how our current space could be transformed. She was even able to make modifications to the model as we talked over the details. After it was done, it was amazing how well her concept drawings matched the actual remodel. We also appreciated her detailed assistance in picking out the specific materials so everything in the design fit together. One of our favorite pictures of our new kitchen is not the very showy pictures on Nicolette's website. It is one we snapped on Christmas day, with over a dozen family members gathered around the island, enjoying each other's company while preparations for dinner continued unabated. That picture never would have been possible without Nicolette's help and guidance.

Nicolette is an amazing designer! I felt very fortunate to have her support and encouragement during my home project. She was professional, budget conscious, and flexible. Nicolette had a great understanding of my vision and gently guided me in finding the right fit. Her passion inspired and turned our ‘cookie cutter’ space into a HOME. On more than one occasion Nicolette saved the day – and the project – going completely out of her way to come to our home (with no notice) to help the sub-contractors interpret the inaccurate floorplans left by the contractor when the ‘on-site project manager’ disappeared. Although her job should have been done with the design completion, she made many, many site visits to make sure all was going to plan and to troubleshoot issues as they arose. Without a doubt, the project would not have been successful without her. Nicolette’s style is to take ‘ownership’ of the design to bring her client’s dream to life, and she absolutely refuses to allow any shortcuts or misinterpretation from suppliers impact the outcome. Design and construction projects in the home are very hard. Everyone needs a professional like Nicolette in their corner. Highly recommended!

I hired NIBIO LLC for a studio-remodeling into home-office, including floor, wall-painting, and furniture. Nicolette came to my home to discuss ideas for redecorating/updating. We had planned to spend 1 or 2 hours walking through specific areas to discuss changes I could make to create the look I wanted. We ended up spending a little more time than that and came up with some solid ideas for painting, lighting and small furniture changes. She was very willing to use as much of my existing furnishings as I wanted and helped me to consider options for change that would be the least cost for the most reward.
