I would recommend Novacon for any large scale home renovation without reservation. We cannot thank them enough! We used them for a near-total interior gut, update, extension with foundation for a hundred year-old Arts and Crafts home in the Beaches. I would do a similar project with them again in a heartbeat. 1. Quality: The work is second-to-none. Every detail is important and they walkthrough everything with you at every stage. They fix anything you are not happy with. Being in the home now 6 months after they finished, there are no surprises. They handled all permits, finances, planning expertly. We have the most beautiful home in the neighbourhood! 2. Subtrades/Team: Novacon seems to only work with the top tradespeople. They have connections to everything in the GTA and when we needed old glass work, or furnace work, new stairs, new eaves - every single one did a great job. They have backups/contingencies for everything - which is key on a big project. 3. Price: It is so hard to know before you start! Novacon was similar to other companies we had quote but by far they have the most transparent pricing at every stage: quote, planning and throughout. Pavel gives you a frame work showing exactly where the money goes. Any surprise discoveries were priced with different options/costs to solve, because there are always one or two surprises! Change orders were priced very fairly. As always, the more specific you are about materials, selections, finishing ahead of pricing, the more precise numbers they can give you. Having gone through this massive project, I can tell you I really trust Pavel's pricing. 4. Project Management: The day they came to take the keys and start demo Novacon showed up in 3 Novacon trucks, with a team of people in matching shirts and hats, with the owner, Pavel, showing up early, introducing us to the rest of the team and really reassuring us. They use a software program that gives you the schedule, ability to review and approve selections, communicate with them, copies of all plans and pictures. They accommodated our busy schedule for on-site meetings and did an amazing job communicating. They were great managing everything themselves and saying “don’t worry, we’ll take care of that” which was hugely reassuring. They communicated with/help keep neighbours happy and the site was pristine, fenced off and safe. I suggest keeping everything “in-house” with them to keep things moving smoothly as any delays we had were from us trying to bring in someone else less organized to do something. 5. People: What a team! Yvon, their head carpenter and our site manager can solve any problem and was extremely dedicated and smart. Melika, their designer, is amazingly organized and jumped in at the end our our project and was a massive help and can adapt any style. Henry, our PM, was the best and could/should be a therapist. Their day to day workers are polite, hardworking, careful and really talented. They were invested in, excited about and really seemed to care about our project. Pavel, the owner, is amazing and sets the tone for everything I’ve listed above. He is fair, respected by his entire crew and all the subtrades, and great to work with. He has a lot of experience and I have the feeling he has dealt with all things that could ever come up in a reno. There are one or two times I realized I should have listened to him when I didn’t! He hit the mark on his advice to us everytime in the project, navigating us through supply chain and COVID issues easily and kept the day to day stresses away from us. He is like a parent to the project making sure everything is running the way it should; balancing the vision, practicality, and firmness required to have a construction project run well in Toronto, in these volatile times. With Novacon, Pavel has created a team that is about great quality, fair pricing, a smooth renovation process, done in a safe way with the intention on keeping you and your family happy. He definitely delivered that to us - we now have our dream home!

Just wanted to share our gratitude to the Novacon team for the exemplary work completed on our recent 2nd storey renovation. As individuals and more broadly as a Novacon team they have been outstanding in terms of communication (prompt replies, positive and supportive language, availability), quality of work completed, flexibility, patience with us and understanding of our changes, and overall willingness to ensure this project resulted in what we desired from it. Pavel was fantastic throughout the entire process - from initial meetings, through the development of scope and design, flexibility when circumstances caused a change in budget and then throughout the build. He is knowledgable, transparent in his dealings, customer focused and operates at all time with integrity. Yvon and Melika as our face to face contacts were fantastic representatives of Novacon. Yvon as site manager genuinely demonstrates an intent to ensure that us as clients are fully satisfied with work completed. He is skillful, resourceful and eternally optimistic. Melika has a unique ability to respond positively in all situations whilst still keeping the project on task. Her communication and explanations were fantastic and she is always willing to further clarify. Together they are a great team. We enthusiastically recommend Novacon given their outstanding work and also your adherence to the budget agreed upon. An outstanding experience.

Pavel and his crew are one of the best in the industry. I have dealt with a number of contractors and Novacon outshined them all. All are very professional. They're responsive on all my questions and flexible to my requests. They are knowledgeable of their trade. Very organize from drawings, permits, materials to use to finishing on time. I highly recommend Novacon to those who wants a stress free and nice finish project.

Outstanding! Pavel and his team at Novacon were absolutely outstanding, from beginning to end and beyond. Special kudos to Henry (Project Supervisor) and Yvonne (Lead-Site Supervisor), as well as Victoria. They were friendly, kind, always available to talk or meet on site, and a pleasure to be around in general. Their attention to detail was incredible. During the Pre-Delivery Inspection they were pointing out touch-ups that we did not even notice. And even a couple of months after being back home they were checking-in to make sure everything is still ok and if there is anything else that needs to be adjusted or touched-up. The result was incredible. We have been back in our house for a few months now and it’s still hard to believe this is our same but new home. We just had to move out for a few months, hand things over to Novacon, and continue our normal life. Novacon did everything: scheduling trades, payments for materials/fixtures/supplies etc., taking deliveries, etc., etc. It was so easy and seamless to us. Everything was visible to us via the Portal they have available, which had a detailed daily calendar of the work, financials, messaging, pictures etc. This was a major interior renovation of the entire main floor of our home: entryway, living room, dining room, kitchen, stairs and hallways up to the second floor. Basically, everything but bedrooms and bathrooms. It was our first time undergoing a renovation, and we did not know what to expect. We certainly did not expect such a smooth and seamless experience. But we had a good feeling about Novacon, and they delivered. We got the impression that Pavel/Novacon is selective in the projects they take on, which was a good sign for us. And we appreciated how Pavel manages expectations, process, and decision-making. He ensured we were prepared, so that we did not sidetrack or slow things down. Pavel provided a very clear and detailed itemized budget for materials and labour, and in the end it was right on budget. The Novacon Team was honest, clear, transparent, and was in constant communication with us, at least weekly, about the progress of our renovation. The project started on March 1st, 2021 and we were back in our house in late July 2021. It took a few weeks longer, because of material delays due to the pandemic, but not a big deal at all looking back, especially since we were not living through the construction process. Overall, on budget and on time. What also facilitated the result was that we came to Novacon prepared for construction. We had been working with a designer for close to two years to arrive at a final and detailed design plan that was ready for execution. The design firm we used was Madison Taylor Design, and the lead designer was Kim Stovold, also outstanding. We really appreciated how Novacon communicated with our designer, again, making it easy and seamless to us. Any future work we will do will be with Novacon.

We met with 4 contractors for estimates and Novacon was the last one that we met with. When you meet Pavel, you will immediately realize that he’s very knowledgeable, honest, detailed, has a great vision, and definitely not pushy like some of the other contractors. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to select Novacon for our renovations. Pavel’s entire team has the same great qualities – everyone that worked on our project were all so kind, knowledgeable, detailed, never took any shortcuts and always took the time to explain complicated construction challenges in the simplest way and proposed solutions. Yvon, Peter, Victoria, Brandon are all very detailed, passionate about their work and take great pride in their work. Yvon (site supervisor) pays great attention to the details, making sure everything is done to perfection. I also worked very closely with William during the project, he was always so well organized with all the timelines and kept me on track with all order of selection process. Nothing was easy during the Pandemic but Pavel and William managed it all without letting us feel any of the stress and kept us updated on everything. We are so thankful for the entire Novacon team and would recommend them to anyone looking to do renovations to their home.

After ten years of living in our 1892 house in the Beaches, we were finally ready to put an addition to the back of our house to increase our kitchen size, to add a new master bedroom with ensuite, and a new laundry/storage room in our basement. After doing lots of research on contractors here on Homestars then meeting with and getting quotes from 4 contractors, there was no question that we were going to work with Pavel and Novacon. Simply said, we couldn't have made a better choice. From working with us to design (from my awful sketches) the new spaces, to getting the permits, to then doing the actual work, the Novacon team was excellent. While there were issues/unforeseen decisions that came up (as is common in any major renovation...especially with old houses), all were handled so well. Novacon came up with great solutions to any problems that were often at no extra cost to us. William managed our project and was great to work with - whether it was during our regular in-person meetings, through their app (which is fantastic), or on phone calls, emails and texts! There are MANY decisions that have to be made throughout a renovation and William kept us on top of them and was great to bounce ideas off. Yvon was also fantastic to work with and at coming up with creative solutions. As others have said, Yvon is a true craftsman who takes great pride in his work and it definitely shows. He has a great eye for detail - noticing that the trim beside our stairs had a different finish/cut at the top versus the bottom. We barely noticed this even after he pointed it out to us (and certainly never would've noticed it) but he insisted that the work be redone. Throughout the renovation, friends would ask for the horror stories but we had none! Pavel has built an excellent team that not only communicates very effectively but who are honest, ethical and really great at their craft! They stand by their work and have come back in to fix deficiencies that were only noticed after we moved back in. We truly can't say enough great things about Novacon and can't wait to work with them again on our future projects!

Excellent company! Amazing people! Great communication! Exceptionally conscientious and high-quality work! Would absolutely recommend them for big or small reno's! Ours was a big one with lots of complications which they handled seamlessly while buffering a lot of the stress from us by handling everything in a professional manner and keeping us very well informed along the way. Could not recommend them more! You will not be disappointed!

We selected Novacon after receiving 3 estimates. While all quotes were within 10% of one another, we had a level of comfort with Pavel that was missing with the others. For various reasons we had several significant scope changes but in the end we are very pleased with the end result. Pavel’s recommendations always worked out for the better. Regret the one I didn’t follow. Overall workmanship and management were excellent. High marks for all the team members especially William and Yvan. Yvan's craftsman/workmanship is simply amazing. Loved his pride of ownership approach. Sub contractors/trades for the most part provided excellent products/work as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pavel and his team.

Our project was to demolish existing bungalow and build a new 2 storey home. I met few contractors and was unable to decide and finally reached Homestars website. After short listing of highly rated contractors, went through profile of each contractor and decided to go with Novacon based on positive review about them being reliable, honest and excellent work. I want to thank God that I choose Novacon. It is very rare to find a contractor who is professional, fair, honest, upfront, knowledgeable and cares about the client budget and money, From the first time we met Pavel, we felt at ease with him due to his knowledge, honesty and professionalism. He explained everything from the beginning and all the way through the project perfectly. The Novacon team Pavel and William were very professional, honest, reliable, knowledgeable and attention to detail. They provided detailed schedule, set up weekly meetings to discuss progress, maintained communication as needed. Any time we encountered unforeseen issues Pavel notified us right away, explained the issue and presented us with options. If we asked for recommendations, Pavel would tell us his opinion but at no time did we feel pressured to do work we weren't comfortable with or to expand the scope of the job. The quality of work is outstanding, maintaining the highest level of workmanship at all times of project is commendable. We are very happy with the quality of build of our new home and would thank Pavel and his team for that and would highly recommend Novacon without hesitation to anyone considering work on their home.

Pavel did an assortment of projects, from electrical to insulation, and remodelling a basement as well, for a senior - making her home more accessible and her life easier.

We've hired Novacon for there separate projects over the last 4 years. First we had both of our bathrooms renovated and we were really happy with the work and the attention to detail. We liked them so much that we had them build a two storey extension. We were updated and consulted throughout the process, and we even got back into our house a month early. We recently hired Novacon to redo our backyard with patio stones, and it only took a week! Very happy with this company and we will be hiring them in a couple of years to redo our basement.
