Oak Hills Woodcraft

We had such a great experience with Oak Hills Woodcraft: from the planning phase all the way until the completion of the project. Marije, their in-house designer, made the process stress free and very enjoyable. Oak Hills did the cabinets for our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The workmanship was impeccable, the installation was done very precisely, and the cabinets and countertops fit to the millimetre. We have been living in the house for over a year now, and nothing has shifted, moved, fallen, broken, cracked, or chipped. We have big drawers containing many small appliances, and heavy food items, and they can just take the load without problem. We were very impressed and very happy with the service and product offered by Oak Hills, and we definitely recommend them to anyone. Thank you very much to Herb (owner) and Marije (designer), as well as all the team that built and installed our cabinets!

From the planning stages, through to the job completion, the folks at Oak Hills were professional and efficient. We enjoyed working with Marije, she is approachable and creative. The quality of materials and the finishing is excellent. Renovating the kitchen in our crooked old house required the installers to show ingenuity and skill and we are very happy with the results.

Since having our new kitchen installed, I've been inspired to cook once again, and I find that I now have a push to keep my kitchen as clean and clutter-free as possible. The kitchen is the hub of our household and our family and visitors couldn't love it more!

All I can say is WOW! My husband and I had started a complete kitchen Reno - the whole thing! Yup, wall down, sold all the cabinets and the granite countertop I could no longer stand (I know...first world problems!). Originally, we were going with another cabinet company but I didn’t like the vibe from them on the phone and heard a few less than perfect reviews. We stopped in at Oakhills and were met with smiles and a real feeling of energy and willingness to get our project started! Love love love Marije! Marije was the designer on hand ready to put our design into reality. Though we hired an interior designer who planned the kitchen and the colors, Marije was my “go to” gal. She was so fun to work with, super talented and has great taste. She was able to steer me away from less than practical choices and keep me on track and budget. Budget was big one for us. we originally started our kitchen with grandiose visions of solid wood cabinets and Caesar stone countertops. But in the middle of the job my husband lost his Very lucrative job and we were mortified not too mention feeling hopeless we could not make our dream kitchen a reality. Marije was there to help us make budget friendly choices that looked incredible and no one would ever know we even had a budget. Everything was on time and when the occasional hiccup did occur an email was sent first thing in the morning notifying us. We were always in the loop and always knew the plan. Brian the installer was METICULOUS! The patience this man has - it’s incredible. He has an eye for perfection which my kitchen is a shining example of. And tidy! The only reason I knew Brian had been by was because of the changes in the kitchen, not a mess left behind. Loved working with the whole team at Oakhills! Very impressed with all aspects of this project. From the drafted plans of styling choices to the quality of materials & recommendations for our personal preferences everything was top notch. All the drawers & cupboards were built in their own shop by real cabinet makers & installed meticulously by a cabinet maker in our home, on time & on budget. The company designer was very helpful and creative, finding the right combination of aesthetics and pragmatic design for us, within our budget. The craftsmanship is of high quality, but we experienced some issues with the installation. The company was prompt to correct those however. From a practical standpoint, living far from the company's shop was sometimes challenging, but the designer did her best to minimize the delays. One year later, we are still thrilled with our new kitchen!

We've been on such a crazy ride since we purchased our home last March(2015) especially since we were still living in the Lower Mainland (B.C.) and our new home was in Courtenay (B.C.) With the help of the wonderful people at Oak Hills Woodcraft we were able to make our dream kitchen become a reality and our new house to be even closer to becoming our home. Marije helped us to be able to keep the funky yellow tile that we fell in love with by helping us to pick out cabinets and counters that complimented the counters and floors that we wanted to still be a part of the kitchen design. Marije was so patient with my passion for red and was able to suggest products that suited both my husband and myself. Thank you Marije for being so wonderful and considerate re my daughter Alix's time when arranging meetings at the house for your very exact measurements. The staff that built, installed and returned to resolve any concerns (maybe one) were wonderful. A special shout out to Mark (installed everything) who is one of the most professional workers that I have ever met and who was so helpful in helping me out with other workers (windows, electrician) when my husband wasn't there. We will definitely be using Marije and her team at Oak Hills Woodcraft when we start on more projects in our new home. We had a fabulous experience with OakHills Woodcraft. From start to finish we were listened to and supported by Marije and the team. marije's knowledge and creative imagination helped us solidify our plans. As our colour was unusual, the cabinet makers made many attempts to get exactly what we wanted. And the results were gorgeous. Their workmanship is wonderful. The installation of the cabinets was also a very positive experience. Mark worked so methodically, with attention to every detail. His work was exceptional. All in all, the OakHills team, particularly Marije, made the experience fun and far less stressful than we imagined. We are so grateful to them and love our new kitchen!

We engaged Oak Hills to design and create extensive cabinetry and mill working in a large custom home. This included cabinetry and woodwork in the kitchen, laundry, pantry, office, mudroom, multiple bathrooms, bar, media centre and garage. On design, Marije was creative, resourceful, accurate and ever so patient, introducing many elements we had never initially considered. Each room design had multiple iterations using 3D graphics until we had just the right look. This lead to the precision crafting and staining of our solid wood millwork, followed by an incredibly talented and detail oriented installer. Everyone at Oak Hills was a pleasure to work with and the company exceeded our expectations. The work performed by Oak Hills has significantly contributed to the beauty of our new home.
